Woman-Hating Santorum Says Abortion Exceptions to Protect Mother's Health Are "Phony"

Rick Santorum is fashioning himself as the poster boy Presidential candidate for the ultra-conservative voter, so there's no shortage of ridiculous, outrageous, person-hating statements he's made. But his most recent comment is so egregiously woman-hating under the guise of being "pro-life," we're a little beside ourselves. Speaking at a "crisis pregnancy center" (where they try to talk women out of having abortions) in Des Moines, Iowa, on Tuesday, he decried allowing abortion even when bearing the child would endanger the life of the mother. SANTORUM: When I was leading the charge on partial birth abortion, several members came forward and said, “Why don’t we just ban all abortions?” Tom Daschle was one of them, if you remember. And Susan Collins, and others. They wanted a health exception, which of course is a phony exception which would make the ban ineffective.
