"FiliBernie"--an old-school mock-filibuster to protest tax cuts to the rich-- reached epic status yesterday, capturing the world's attention. At last, after a full day of reading and giving speeches on the Senate floor explaining why renewing the tax cuts for America's wealthiest was morally and fiscally irresponsible (with brief help from Sens Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Mary Landrieu of Louisisana), Senator Bernie Sanders at last yielded the floor. The Huffington Posthas some highlights and at Talking Points Memo, there's an explanation of why this #filibernie filibuster wasn't technically a filibuster--even though it was awesome.
