Halliburton Readies Up $500 Million to Keep Cheney Out Of Nigerian Clinker

It's nice to have friends with deep pockets.

When the folks at Halliburton realized that Nigeria was conducting a series of raids and an investigation into the famously secretive and corrupt firm that could very well lead to a Cheney arrest warrant, they headed to the negotiating table with all their cards on the table, financially speaking.

According to GlobalPostsources in Nigeria, negotiations for some sort of plea deal are beginning and ongoing between the energy behemoth and Nigerian authorities, which some off-the-record sources said were to the tune of $500 million in payouts. If convicted of the bribery and corruption charges, Cheney and others would potentially face up to three years in a Nigerian prison.
