GOP Rep. Uses Creepy Shooting Analogy to Describe What He'll Do to Obama Administration

When are conservatives going to learn that evoking the use of gun violence when discussing their political rivals -- or anyone, for that matter -- is not ok?

The latest buffoon to do so is Republican Texas Rep. Joe Barton, who you might remember as the guy who apologized to BP for the Obama administration's "shakedown" of the company. Barton has been emailing around a slide presentation in which he campaigns to be elected the new head of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

The Washington Post's Al Kamen describes the presentation as mostly "standard campaign material," except with Barton "pledging to do for the administration what Gen. George Patton and company did for Germany." The last slide in the presentation is the controversial one:

Then comes the money slide, titled: "What's in Store for the Obama Administration," with photos of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Generals Omar Bradley and George Patton in uniform.

"Speaker Boehner is our Dwight Eisenhower in the battle against the Obama Administration. Majority Leader Cantor is our Omar Bradley. I want to be George Patton - put anything in my scope and I will shoot it."
