Arsonists Set Fire at Terror Suspect's Mosque
Things are getting worse in usually peaceful Portland Oregon. A mosque said to be frequented by a recently-apprehended terror suspect suffered fire which authorities believe was set intentionally as an act of retribution. Only one room in the Corvalis center suffered real damage. The Muslim community in this tolerant town is now worried that more misguided, wrongheaded retaliation is at hand.
""I've prayed for my family and friends, because obviously if someone was deliberate to do this, what's to stop them from coming to our homes and our schools?" Mohamed Alyagouri one congregant at the center, told the AP. "I'm afraid for my children getting harassed from their teachers, maybe from their friends."
This weekend, a teenager who occasionally worshiped at the center was arrested for plotting to set off a massive van filled with explosives during the city's centrally-located Christmas-tree lighting ceremony. The city was never really in danger--for months, the suspect's co-conspirators were undercover FBI.
