Murkowski: Palin Unqualified to be President
Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski says that Sarah Palin isn't the presidential type, and that's putting it nicely.
They've never exactly been best friends--in fact, Sarah Palin's favored candidate, Joe Miller, ran against Murkowski twice (once in the primary, and again when she ran as a write-in candidate).
But last night she had some of the harshest words yet for her former governor.
"I just do not think that she has those leadership qualities, that intellectual curiosity that allows for building good and great policies," Murkowski explained during a sit-down on Katie Couric's evening broadcast, after being asked to revisit previous suggestions she'd made that she would not support a Palin run in 2102. "You know, she was my governor for two years. And I don't think that she enjoyed governing."
Murkowski added, "I want somebody that goes to bed at night and wakes up in the morning thinking about how we're going to deal with our national security issues, how we're going to deal with our economy, how we're going to deal with providing better education or peace in the Middle East."
Palin has yet to refudiate these statements in public.
