Activist Questioned Cops' Use of Force, Now Her Son Is Gunned Down by Cops in Another State

An activist who had been asking for a federal probe into lethal police force in her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jewell Hall, lost her own son Milton this week. He was shot thousands of miles away in Michigan--by police officers. Over 40 times.

From the AP:

The son of an activist who has been critical of Albuquerque police over a number of police shootings has been shot and killed by police in Michigan.

Jewel Hall said Monday that her son, Milton Hall, was shot by Saginaw police last week.

The Saginaw Police Department says the 49-year-old Hall was wielding a knife and made "aggressive movements toward several officers." Local media reports say Hall, who attended high school in Albuquerque, was shot more than 40 times by officers.

A report in a local NBC affiliate described the turmoil the shooting hascaused in the local Michigan community:

Anger at tonight 's meeting was driven by media reports that Hall was shot by police 46 times and that police microphones and cameras didn't work the night of the incident.  Saginaw Police and Michigan State Police have refused NBC25 requests for comment pending the outcome of the investigation, which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.
