The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart gave his take on the recent lifting of the ban on women in combat last night. In two parts, Stewart and his colleague Samantha Bee deconstructed opponents’ objections.

In the first segment, Stewart cuts to clips of media pundits decrying the change announced by the Pentagon that will allow women to serve in combat. Conservative columnist George Will said that “there are certain anatomical facts about upper body strength,” and that a male Marine would be worried about getting injured and being helped by a woman Marine. Stewart mockingly agreed: “They’re tiny!”

Another pundit says the move would disrupt “unit cohesion” because “sex is inevitable.”

The second clip is Samantha Bee’s hilarious investigation into how exactly the lifting of the ban would disrupt unit cohesion. She interviews Kingsley Browne, who is against the ban, and who claims that “it’s not clear that men could actually bond with women.” Bee then responds by saying, “so women can disrupt bro-mance.”

Bee also interviews Zoe Bedell, a Marine Corps fighter who fought against the ban.
