Snowden Asks Russia for Asylum -- But Will He Be Willing to Stop Leaking?

Edward Snowden has requested temporary political asylum in Russia, a Human Rights Watch representative who met with him in the Moscow airport where he has been cooped up for weeks reported

Tatyana Lokshina of Human Rights Watch says Snowden hopes to stay in Russia because he “can’t fly to Latin America yet," but still has plans to pursue asylum there. 

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has said -- and reiterated -- that Snowden could stay in the country so long as he stopped his activities against the United States, a condition the NSA-leaker appears that he may be ready to accept.
