As we all know, Fox News has been relentlessly harping on the Benghazi consulate attack and the failure to bring any of the attackers to justice every day for the two years since it happened, "And sadly, Hillary Clinton remains at large," Stephen Colbert quipped on his show Wednesday night.
So, with the arrest of the alleged mastermind Ahmed Abu Khatallah, naturally there was a lot of celebrating on the faux news network. Right?
Nope. Cut to clips of various Fox blatherers complaining relentlessly about how it has taken 642 days (sounds a lot longer than 2 years) to find this guy, who was likely "drinking strawberry frappes and lattes" all the while.
Yeah, Colbert says. "Bush didn't wait 642 days to catch Bin Laden. If he wasn't going to catch him for 642 days, he wasn't going to catch him at all. That's pride."
Colbert promises he'll have more on the story just as soon as he can "figure out why it's bad."
