The Hysterical Defense of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Tells Much about America's Racial Backslide

By Earl Ofari Hutchinson, New America Media. Posted November 5, 2007.

Duane Chapman, a.k.a. the Bounty Hunter, got the temporary ax from his A&E show after a hate-filled rant against black women. But he deserves to be shown the door for good.

"I am sick and tired of people like you and the phony and fake Al Sharpton who go after white people who say something you don't like and then using the excuse ... it degrades black women, etc."

That was one of the tamer emails I got when I called for A&E Television to cancel outright the "Dog the Bounty Hunter" show. We all know by now what round em' up and bring em' back alive Duane Chapman aka the Bounty Hunter did to get the temporary ax.

He let fly a "B" and "N" word laced rant and borderline threatening oaths at his son for having the temerity to date a black woman. A&E "suspended" production of the show. That was a weak, tepid, and vacillating response. And I told why. Dog's comments about black women are more than just gender and racially demeaning and hurtful to black women. They are a vicious attack on and call to end interracial relations, as well as an incitement to violence. Dog the Bounty Hunter's' statement was far more damaging than shock jock Don Imus's.

I frontally challenged A&E and said that suspension of the show is not enough. A&E can send the strong message that the sentiments he expressed will not be tolerated by immediate cancellation of the show.

The suspension I also said is simply a cover your butt holding action by A& E that left the door wide open for Dog to climb back on the airwaves. That prospect was even more real and fresh in mind with the announcement the day before by Citadel Broadcasting that shock Jock Don Imus had cut a deal with the network and would be back on board December 3.

A&E might and probably would do the same once the furor died down. The reason is simple. Dog tinkles the cash registers for A&E. It's a network that in the past few years has transformed itself from a station that prided itself on high brow, educational faire into a channel that now routinely churns out reality type schlock to makes a buck.

But the hysterical defense of Dog and the bile emails this writer got has nothing to do with A&E or even the hunt down the bad guys thrill and titillation of Dog the Bounty Hunter. It has everything to do with the blame the victim with a vengeance mania of far too many whites toward blacks. Think about it.

If Dog were black and had unloosed a string of expletive laced white "B"s at his son for dating a white woman, there would have been a national outcry. A&E would have instantly and permanently pulled the plug on the show. And the Dog would have never in this life graced any studio in America.

There would have been no talk of forgiveness, or let by gones be by gones, and he's suffered enough prattle. He would have been the enduring fount of evil and eternal symbol of bigotry and intolerance. Just ask former Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington or ex NFL superstar Michael Vick It's also evident in the backlash to the Jena 6 case in Louisiana and from Genarlow Wilson's case in Georgia. Two cases where young blacks were harshly charged with alleged crimes against whites. Many turned silly, verbal summersaults to rationalize, duck and dodge and ultimately justify the racial injustice against them.

It's no surprise why. During the past two decades, the drumbeat of black bashing, stereotyping, negative typecasting, and vilification of young blacks has ballooned into a lucrative growth industry in much of the talking head media. The hunt and scrounge for any excuse no matter how threadbare to justify racial abuse and injustice is relentless.

The battle over shock jock Don Imus was and is a near classic example of the let the villain off the hook syndrome. When Imus was initially canned polls showed a majority of whites waffled on or flat out dismissed his slurs as a right to free speech, or insisted that a hand slap suspension was enough. The pulsating demand for his return to the airwaves never ended. Now that he's back, he's hailed as a virtual conquering hero by his legions of admirers.

The same is happening with Dog. He issues a contrite statement, and a belated apology, and his manic defenders wail that he's touts Christian redemption. That's more than enough for them to bestow total absolution on him if not make him into an honored figure that has suffered enough. Then in the even more perverse and bizarre twist, leap at the chance to fling the standard name calls of demagogue, race baiter and clown at perennial punching bag Al Sharpton for blasting Dog's tirade.

Washington and Vick did the same tear jerk mea culpa as Dog but it didn't soften any public hearts toward them. It shouldn't with Dog either.

You seem to leave out Michael Richards' experience, he's publicly apologized yet people still hate him. It's unfair to point the finger at society and cry out about racial double standards without showing the whole picture. Also, Michael Vick was ostracized for animal cruelty, and a lot of people in America (sadly) care more about animals than human beings.

the "n" word

Yes, it's a hateful, despicable word that should NEVER be used. By anyone, at any time. But the way I see it, part of the problem seems to be the black comedians who desensitize America to its historical meaning by using the word liberally in their acts.

Why is it funny when a black man says it and deplorable when a white man says it? It should be deplorable to EVERYONE, instead of guessing what is in the heart of each person who uses the word.

Dog had a right to say whatever he wanted in a PRIVATE conversation with his son. If you listened to the "entire" (I put that in quotes, because the ENTIRE conversation between BOTH father and son wasn't released - we haven't heard the conversation from "Hi son, it's me, Dad" or however he started the conversation) tape recording, Dog explains more than once what HE means by using the word.

Why are people so quick to judge him and bascially say "no, that's not what he meant - he meant the other thing just because he's a white man saying it." Dog didn't know that the tape would be released, so he wasn't explaining it for the thousands of people who would listen to it. He was trying to explain to his son what he thought of ONE black woman - the one his son was dating, and who allegedly was threatening the family.

Isn't it also racism to assume what someone means by something they say based purely on their RACE? Dog has always admitted that he grew up around "bad influences", and spent time in prison - and heard the word over and over again in his experiences. If he knew that he couldn't refrain himself from saying the word because of how he grew up, at least he TRIED to do the next best thing - by using it to mean ignorant and intollerant PEOPLE, and explaining how he was using it.

As for the apology that you claim came "too late", he had already apologized to his son and girlfriend for using the word PRIOR to the tape being sold. And since his use of the word was directed at ONE PERSON and not the whole race, he did what he should have done and apologized to the parties involved.

If Tucker hadn't illegally sold the conversation (yes, in Hawaii it is legal to tape a private conversation with the consent of only one party, but it is ILLEGAL to disseminate the conversation publically), would you still have expected Dog to apologize to the world for what he said in the heat of anger - even if no one ever had found out what he had said?

As for the right to free speech argument, I wholeheartedly agree with it! What gives the American Nazi Party the constitutional right to walk through the streets of a largely Jewish town (ie. Skokie, IL) spewing racially charged words and take that right away from a man using an unfortunate word in a private conversation with his son? When you can successfully answer me that, I'll give up the "free speech" argument.

Just A Private Conversation Calling Someone Out For Being Different

So the word nigger is so bad that if someone uses it they get fired? Amazing. And a private conversation too. Sounds to me like someone has a copyright on this word.

Can you imagine if you called someone Disney and then the owners of ABC (sorry can't think of many owners of the media right now), fired you? Can you imagine that? Doesn't matter what color your skin is but you do have masters that will buy your private conversations and use them to fire you.

It's bad enough that some dupe like Hutchinson jumps through corporate hoops so that his inner most thoughts will never be revealed. But yes, I can imagine black people calling white bitches hoes or whatever but I never hear them getting fired for some reason.

Have fun jumping through those hoops. Just know that I am judging you by your ability and not your families historical upbringing.

For "Christs" sake

I surfed the internet today to look at the reverse. Black racism towards whites. There seemed to be plenty of "I hate white people"remarks - My "research" was not as a means to excuse or deny peoples angst but merely to explore the jokes and epithets levelled from the other direction as being equally untenable.
In short I was dismayed by the huge amount out there. There are joke sites, blogs, all sorts of angry responses to the white community.
So it occurred to me that there is a divide and always will be a divide pontificate all you like but the US was born on racist mantra and continues to thrive today - not a position perhaps to give in and throw in the towel but I feel harbouring so much blame towards The Bounty Hunter is unsound.
Some African American families I am sure would have issue with their own dating Caucasians the reverse is also true.
Is this prejudiced? - probably but then again a reality.
There is also an issue of relevance - private conversations are just that - surely if we are honest we have all said something at some point about someone that if made public we would be ashamed of? If thats true which I believe is so, then this media frenzy on The Bounty Hunter is a trifle hypocritical. But the media does love to be the harbinger of all things moral.
If the argument is to be that "dog" is a public figure and he should be accountable - I'd agree if this recording was made in a public forum. The fact that his son recorded it was done for money and effect - the effect of hurting his father.
With all this in mind - I don't see what the point is of driving a wholly bigger issue against one man..surely the media/government should spend a little more time creating a country that is less prone to such things ...now that would be a topic worth persuing and not cheapening the bigger topic by berating a former con from Texas for Christ's sake. Did I say Christ? Perhaps he should judge not the Enquirer.

I must disagree with your comment "It has everything to do with the blame the victim with a vengeance mania of far too many whites toward blacks."

Perhaps you are not familiar with the case in California after the "Rodney King riots". A white truck driver, Reginald Denny, was just doing his job driving his truck, when he got stopped in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A group of black men pulled him out of his cab, and beat his head in with bricks to within an inch of his life. Their defense in court? "Black Rage." And guess what? The jury bought it and set them free!

If a black man attacks a white man and claims "black rage", then his actions are ok? But if a white man uses the n word during a private conversation, then crucify the man! Take away his AND HIS FAMILY'S livelihood! Make him pay until the day he dies!

Something is wrong with this picture, and America....

It was merely shamed.

And it's coming back with a vengeance.

Has anyone noticed the similarity between these racists, and say gays, or other minorities? They are claiming that they're wounded, shamed, unable to express themselves. They're actually daring to position themselves socially as oppressed people.

We live in dangerous times.

Big duane dog chapman would be quite surprized to know not only is his son tucker attractive for black women. WE watch Tv too! His son Leland with all those great tats is a nice specimen to view, he's a favorite of many women of color. I always told my family that Mr. Chapman had a problem with blacks I just knew it. Ijust knew it I watched the show waiting for him to slip. But, of course there were never blacks on his show & he never arrested blacks. I think alot of his feeling comes from his days langushing in prison. I mean he had to blame some one for being Big bubbas little girlfriend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dreaded "N" word

I think it's amazing how much media something like this can cause. We have wars going on over seas, we have fires burning half of California, we have rapists on the streets, and everyone gets fired up over a conversation a television bounty hunter has with his son, which wasn't even supposed to be public.
I think what I find most disturbing is response:
Why is it ok for a black entertainer to use the "N" word, yet when a white person uses it, hysteria breaks out?
Why do we fight to get Dog the Bounty Hunter taken off of TV because he used the "N" word in an argument with his son, yet promote the young black entertainer with CDs full of the word?
It's ok for an entertainer or a comedian to use the phrase... IF they're black themselves. It's ok for someone of the same race to use it for humor or to make a point. It's even ok for someone of the same race to use it as a form of greeting a friend.
The ONLY reason this is causing an uproar is because he's not black. That in itself is racist, don't you think? I do.
I don't think everyone that uses the word is using it in a disrespectful mannor. Otherwise, most of the black people I know are VERY disrespectful toward their own race. I realize to some this is an offensive word. But then again, so is the word B*&CH, yet we allow that to be said, even on TV. Everyone is so obsessed with being politically correct, yet something is always going to be offensive to someone.
Until a black person uses the word and gets this type of reaction, I don't think taking someone off the air is fair. Otherwise, why don't we remove all the Cd's and boycot the singers that use it? Why don't we take all the comedians that have used it off the stage? Instead of trying to ruin their career, which is what people are trying to do to Dog the Bounty Hunter, we promote it and support it.
Why don't we cause an uproar when a black person says it? Until we do, I think this type of reaction is uncalled for.

If Dog were black and had unloosed a string of expletive laced white "B"s at his son for dating a white woman, there would have been a national outcry.

I disagree. I think a black dog could've gotten away with it. And I'm having a hard time understanding how an immediate and indefinite suspension of a TV show mid-season can be constituted as a "tepid" response. You suspend, then evaluate. You allow the suspended a chance for explanation, reconciliation and forgiveness and then you decide whether it's worth it to keep him off air. Sort of like trial by TV executives.

After all, what he said was private. Imagine if we had access to every private conversation of every TV show personality who has ever existed. Now imagine we fired all of them for every racist, sexist or otherwise bigoted comments they had ever made. There'd be no TV left, likely.

It's not that I disagree with the suspension, really. It's just I don't see the value of going into hysterics.

Mr Hutchinson would like to remove, one-at-a-time these recent recurring "accidents" in media related mainly to race and racism.

It's instructive to carefully compare the similarities and differences in this "Dog" occurrence (in time and in place) with the occurrence of the Imus event. In the case of Dog, it has a very curious aura of 'constructedness' and the appearance of an 'artifact' about it. Read carefully the text of the 'intercepted phone call and the exact wording of this 'Dog's) reprehensible communication.

There's 'The White" sphere, 'The Black" sphere and the 'Hispanic' sphere IN PLAY in the last couple of years, a heightened attention to 'race relations'. These are occurring WITHIN each sphere as well as AMONG each sphere. As always in these cases, it is the "White" sphere which is the pivot point (couched in current contexts of 'diversity', 'multiculturalism' and "relativism" - e.g. the Kulturkampf of Mr O'Reilly and his ilk).

As always, Power is involved in it's many faceted dimensions and elections are approaching soon.

I would like to ask Mr Hutchinson, who is most likely to benefit in the realms of Power-relations if Hispanics are maintained struggling with Blacks (immigration, labor and such) and both are maintained struggling with Whites? (I do not for a second think that analyses based on race are fundamentally sound nor categories based on them -yet, sadly their here for some time to come). I suggest a strong possibility that a particular and specific section of White cultural and theological thinking is the most likely to benefit and to remain 'holding the reins' of this wagon which is our society. Divide and conquer, over and over again; tried and true and deadly effective every time.

The 'moral' and 'values' aspects in our society are undeniably in need of discussion, debate and attention. But the conditions large sectors of the 300 million of us, in their flesh and blood conditions (which, after all are the 'holders' of this or that 'morality' are daily degrading further in their material well-being. Based on the preaching and admonitions of many comfortable, prosperous and leisurely positioned thinkers and intellectuals.

People barely fed, barely housed, barely healthy, working 10 hrs a day to just keep a house-hold (oikos) going, have very minimal time to sit and consider the lofty niceties and refinements of moral and theological philosophies, especially when the contradictions of their life conditions are so intimately inter-woven with precisely those very same philosophies.

Taking people who use 'the N word', who express reprehensible and vicious views of others, one at a time is going to take a long, long, LONG time. Meanwhile, it's the Sixteen Tons song sinking deeper and deeper and adding more and more people into the rolls of the Preached To.

Dog Is Not A Racist
Posted by: CMorvant on Nov 6, 2007 5:06 AM

Allow me to begin with a question....When did bugging a phone become legal? I was always told that you had to warn a person that a phone conversation was being taped for it to be totally legal to do so, otherwise it fell under the laws against "bugging" a phoneline. This was a private conversation between Mr. Chapman and his son, he had no knowlege that the conversation was being taped, therefore I would check into the legality of the whole thing.
Another point I would like to make is that, even after hearing the conversation, is that the so called "N" word is not just used by caucassion people, it is used by black people to describe persons within thier own race. Has anyone listened to music, especially Rap and Hip-Hop, the "N" word (as well as a few other racially and sexually charged epiphets) is used to excess in that type of music, yet I do not see music labels pulling Snoop Dogg or Eminem for spewing such things in thier lyrics. Also, I do not see anyone taking black comedy acts off of the air when predominately black commedians use the same terms to describe persons within thier own race. So, where is A&E in the right for pulling Dog The Bounty Hunter for utilizing so-called racial epiphets in a PRIVATE CONVERSATION that he had no knowlege was being taped?
Did the major networks pull WWE television programs after advertisers started pulling thier ads after complaints about violence in thier programming? NO. So why pull Dog's show after using "a few choice words" over the phone with his son?

Michael Vick had nothing to do with racism

Michael Vick tortured and killed innocent animals. If a white guy had been caught doing the same thing, I'd hope he'd get the chair, as well. Dogs give us unconditional love, and undying admiration. In short, they give us, freely and without quarter, the whole of their lives, and anyone who'd abuse that symbiosis deserves whatever punishment they get.

Using racism as a defense for this unconscionable activity is wrong minded, and unfair. Let's focus the discussion on the thousands of disenfranchised voters, who were truly victims of racism, so that Bush could assure his victory in Florida. Perhaps we could start working towards sentencing equity in the courts, or putting an end to the inane "War on Drugs."

There are a plethora of valid examples of debilitating racist policies, perpetrated by the government and ignored by the media, but Micheal Vick's abuse of dogs is not one of them.

Drop It - It Was Illegal

I read many of the comments and was surprised by the vile lyrics of some rappers. I doubt these rappers were ever victims of white violence, but it is possible they had experience black or black violence. The reason for most racist comments on blacks in a public forum is to cause a reaction to support the racist’s goals. However, racism is not a one-way street. I have been privy to many racist comments from African Americans throughout my life. Sometimes I shot back, others I kept quiet. If we want to end racism in America, we need to attack it from all corners (all races) and not just pretend that it is a white issue. As far as Mr. Chapman's dilemma, his fate should not be determined by those with an agenda. He apologized to his son and his girl friend, which is all he should have to do. No man has the right to claim judgment over another’s personal prejudices unless that man intends to and/or makes it a public issue. In this case, Mr. Chapman, who was raised in an environment of racism, has not publicly stated he hates people of different races and/or supports this concept. Therefore he can not be held accountable, unless all personal conversations of people can and will be used against them. That would be a violation of the US Constitution. This situation should be handled by A&E; and I believe they should weigh the factors from a business point of view; not whether he was right or wrong. Why because this was an illegal act. I do not watch the show that Mr. Chapman is the “Star”. Not really my kind of entertainment. I am a white liberal, who was victimized by blacks in my past. I realized after a long period of time, that they were individual who did not represent a race, but rather themselves. I am married to a Hispanic woman who I have loved for more than 20 years.
Thank You

The U.S. is practicing torture while saying it's not torture if the President says so.
We are on the verge of another war.
Americans are going hungry.
Children have no health care.
Our government is run by the most corrupt people alive today.
Congress is about to give the nod to a man who says he will uphold the constitution except when his president doesn't want him to.
On and on and on. And instead of worrying about all of that, all you can do is spend your time worrying about someone calling one girl a nasty name.
So how about firing every person in this country who has ever in their LIFE said something to OFFEND another person. Whether in a PRIVATE conversation on the phone or in public during a fight in a bar or on the street. Let's just get rid of ALL of them. Everybody stay in your homes and keep your mouths SHUT. I won't talk to YOU and DON'T YOU DARE TALK TO ME. Every person in the WORLD has, AT SOME TIME IN HIS OR HER LIFE, said SOMETHING that has offended another. Some a whole lot worse.
The point is that even though you have every right to be angry and disgusted when anyone uses that N word or any other that offends another you should not be spending your time and energy being the world censer. Spend it instead calling out the true wrongs, the intentional wrongs. Jena was a good example because some of those kids were taught from birth to HATE for no good reason.
But what we ALL really NEED, white OR black is our true leaders to speak against torture, the North American Union, the war we're embroiled in and the one to come, health care for children and adults who are ill, and for our troops who are getting the shoddiest care or none at all after they are wounded in Bush's Folly. Speak out about a nominee for Attorney General who says he will allow the president to decide what the law is and go along with whatever HE says, who refuses to call torture torture because that would be admitting that this president ORDERS torture to be committed in the NAME of the United States.
So many things.
Something said in anger in a private conversation does not represent that person's whole life attitude. So just don't watch. Let me tell you, Hannity, Limbaugh, Krystol, Buchanan, Colter, Cheney, Lott, Gingrich, Beck, and so many others offend me every day. I turn the channel. Stop making one nasty word the most important thing in the world. It's NOT.
I was offended by the comments that some black females were saying after the Imus thing. And that was that they were more offended by the phrase "nappy headed" than by the word "HO". To ME, that was the same as saying "Oh, it's perfectly OK to call me a whore. Just don't INSULT MY HAIR." Do YOU see something a little SCREWY in that?
All I'm trying to say is that a true racist is more likely to come up, shake your hand, pat you on the back, lather on the praise, and then go to their real friends and laugh and brag about how they fooled you. Duane Chapman is NOT that kind of person.

Let's stop being coy and protecting those who use the slanderous term. Stop calling it the "N"-word. It is just as vulgar as Fuck and the term "fucking" is used repeatedly in the conversation, not replaced with the "nicety"-the "F'-word. Take it back and embarrass the hell out of those ignorant enough to use it.

If Duane "Dog" Chapman admits that he has raised his family in such racist conditions that the word "nigger" is used so frequently that it will endanger his career for son, Tucker, to date a black woman, for fear that they be exposed for the "reality" of their "mission," it speaks volumes. A&E apparently sees that Nigger is not just a term tossed around the house to swear, but an inherent belief system that lies deep at the heart, if unconsciously, of the entire "DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER" series and entity.

Nigger should STOP being relegated to the "NICETY" of "the n-word" to make bigoted white people feel better about their personal use and the history of it's use in the past. It is time to claim the term and use it JUDICIOUSLY---JUSTICE.

Dick Gregory does not want his book called, "The N-word." There is a reason he called it, "NIGGER;" remember that and stop letting the white press and those trying to cleanse their souls of past histories "euphemize" and thus "euthanize" a word that tortured and continues to be used to torture and demean an entire race of people to this day.

If you continue to placate the white population that took the French word for black "negro" and turned it into a slur, by saying, "you know, the N-word." Sooner or later, your own children will ask, "What is the "N-word?" And then how will you explain your capitulation?

The explicit tone of the majority of comments here defend the "private" attitude of this brutish thug, just as defenders of the "cool" slug Imus, that most of our estemed big name millionaire "journalists" LOVE to rub up to.
The most common retort is "Why can"t whites use the dispicable N-word freely as (some) blacks do?"
The REASON is, ugly as the term (coined by racist whites), whites don't have Standing.
Blacks, by virtue of their entire history with whites have been shit on constantly, enslaved, tortured, robbed and slaughtered. THATS WHY.
Our heroic whites have turned a fairly gentle public into one that lusts for the most inane and indefensible main stream media cheap crap imaginable.
MOST everything being sold to us all is based on the crudest violence to promote the sleazyist profits imaginable, and most of the letters above demonstrate the increadible ignorance of the US public.
I'm deeply ashamed of the face this country shows to the world, who by the way are rightfully becoming fed up with our arrogance and general stupidity, our lies and violence.
9/11 should have been a wake-up call, instead it has been used to accelerate our war against the world, against civilization as we wish it to be, against the enviroment and life itself.
We will certainly reap what we sow.

2 things:
1. "If Dog were black and had unloosed a string of expletive laced white "B"s at his son for dating a white woman, there would have been a national outcry." - that is a bunch of bull!

2. "He would have been the enduring fount of evil and eternal symbol of bigotry and intolerance. Just ask former Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington or ex NFL superstar Michael Vick" - i'm sorry, are we comparing the seriousness of what michael vick did to someone that said a horrible word during a private (and none of our business in the first place) phone conversation? Someone that slays innocent beings for sport, money and fun IS an eternal symbol of evil and intolerance, no matter his/her race!!! Someone who may be racisit (no matter his/her race) is just ignorant.

Yes racism is still real

I've found white people generally keep their degradation of people of color much more subtle than "Dog the Bounty Hunter". The movie the English Patient, a perfect example of white supremacy and racism. If you haven't seen it, all the brown characters are buffoons, they fumble about and bump into things, generally providing comic relief in contrast to the whites who sit fanning themselves elegantly. Then there is the horror movie cliché where all the colored characters die and the white characters always are the heroes and survivors. These are recurring and constant themes in movies and television and frankly much more damaging to people than profane expletives. They ingrain society with an image of what is possible for people depending on their race. To pretend that because rappers rap about killing white people while white people are innocent victims who could never get away with as much is simply inaccurate. Given the history of the US and the historic brutality of whites in general these things do not happen without a backdrop. It is a very different thing for a powerless inner city youth to rap about effing up a white guy than for a white man to do as much. Isn’t that obvious?

Ok, I don't normally post to websites, but, I think if just one person gets what I am trying to say, it is worth the time. Lets get a couple things out of the way up front. We do have a constitutional right to free speech, not a right to not be offended. If you are expressing your own opinions and not advocating violence toward a person or group of people, you have the right to express that opinion whether it be politically correct or should someone find it offensive. Lots of American lives have been lost over the years defending all of our rights to free speech. It shouldn't be taken lightly. The next thing that I would like to get out of the way is that racism is far from a one way street. There are plenty of people of races other than white that do not like people who are not of their color or ethnic background. There is nobody alive today that had anything to do with the institution of slavery. I am not responsible for any actions that any of my ancestors took or the actions of anybody alive today other than my own. In other words, need to get over that whole issue and get on with our lives. Ok, with that for a preface to my main point I will get on with what I want to say. The race card is played far too often and in defense of people that don't deserve to be defended. There are legitimate cases of racism to be sure, but, look at who you are trying to apply it to. Genarlow Wilson, rap sheet a mile long. If a group of people ganging up on one person and beating them senseless is not thuggish behavior, then what is? Michael Vick, come on now. Him being a sadistic abuser of animals and being punished for it is somehow racially motivated? Look at the Duke rape case. That was caused by a white man with political ambition trying to court the black vote. The girl was a prostitute and had DNA from five different men in her panties all at one time. The black community was up in arms in her defense. Not exactly a Sunday school teacher or an example for youth she is. O.J.??????? I don't even want to get started on that. Then you have an educated black man, Bill Cosby, who gets called an Uncle Tom for trying to say the Black community needs to take some responsibilty for itself and that being high, uneducated, unemployed, and fathering as many illigitimate children as possible is not the best way to go through life. He should be a hero to the black community. Look at the new movie, American Gangster, based on a true story about drug dealers in Harlem in the '70s. They killed hundreds if not thousands of their own people selling heroin to them. They were looked at as heroes in their community because they had nice cars and bling and gave out turkeys at Thanksgiving. O.K., now what about Dog. His comments were not appropriate, shouldn't be condoned. There were said in a setting that was supposed to be private and were illegally obtained. I really wonder how many black people, possibly some of them famous, have made derogatory or racially biased statements about white people in what they thought to be a private setting? The country is going to hell in a hand-basket in all kinds of ways not related to race that we need to very concerned about. My advice is to take heed to things that are really important, get your own house in order, play the race card only when it is legitimate. When you do all those things you will have little time left to look for the boogey-man in the comments of a reality T.V. star. Just my opinion, I could be wrong, but I do have the right to express it.

Well, I find it rather interesting that with all the news coverage of Dog using the N word, the entire tape has not been released. I just listened to it twice on the enquirer page. Interesting how this girlfriend of Tuckers seems to be plotting against the family and now Tucker releases this taped conversation. If you ask me, I would think that should be considered entrapment. My question is why exactly is the american public is giving this one word such power. It is fine if african americans say it, but let someone of a different race say it and all the world screams racist. This is a terrible shame that someone has decided to get even with dad. No one is perfect. And in the heat of an argument there tend to be things said that should never be said. Cooler heads always prevail, but I do not feel that this makes Dog a racist. His temper simply got the best of him and he said things he should not have. But they are out and there is nothing more that can be done about it. Again my question is why are we giving one word such huge power. My understanding of the definition of the N word was someone who was ignorant. It had nothing to do with race or skin color. As a white american, maybe I should start screaming racism when I get called a honky or cracker. It just seems to me that once again the crimes of the past are coming back to haunt us. I cannot even begin to express how tired I am of hearing about how african americans were brought over as slaves and how they as a people have suffered. It is unfortunate that as a people they are not able to step up and say well my great great great grandfather was brought over here and treated horribly, but due to that injustice that happened a hundred years ago, I have opportunities that people in the mother land do not have.
Inter-racial relationships are difficult. As for me personally, I do not have any interest in dating other races. Its not how I was raised. But should one of my children decide they would rather date african americans or orientals, then that is their choice. It is not my place to dictate to them how they should feel. Now if the person they date are not of the best character, then yes there are going to be issues and not issues due to their race but who they are as a person. That is pretty much my understanding of what Dog was trying to get through Tuckers head. Its not because his girlfriend is black, but because of the trouble she has caused. And if other family members are lying against this girl, then that is something that needs to be resolved in the family, not in the news.

Duane Chapman is a Bleeping bounty hunter people he gets paid to hunt us! Take your heads out of the orifice of your fundaments and look at the fecaly coloured world you see here!

What part of: "This man and his entire mental emotional structure is misanthropic do you not get?" The racial aspect is merely the tip of the Goddamned ice burg! Wake the F--- up and smell the coffee here. He will hunt and denigrate anyone; not just blacks, whites, yellows, reds. blues or browns, but greens, purples, and pinks too!

Do you not see people, that this mans symptoms is pandemic of an emotional set of human diseases on this planet that revel in forcibly applied control? It angers me no end that I must tolerate in silence this mindset; because, allowed free reign in the form of a police force we are beginning to experience a Police State! Well, here we are and welcome to the Fascism kiddies we deserve the effing we are going to get for the effing we allowed to come in without objection!

Screw political correctness. "Can't we all just get along?" Maybe not! Why are we all so concerned about hurting people's feelings?! We have gotten to a point where some think they have a Constitutional right not to be offended. I am offended that we have to deal with mamby-pamby lame asses who can't get through life without punishing anyone who hurts their feelings.

This guy Dog was expressing his personal views ...to his son no less. Last I checked, we still have the constitutional right to THINK whatever we want. If someone wants to use the word "Nigger" or "Whitey" or "Whop" or "Chink" or "Faggot" or any other so-called 'inappropriate' word, so be it! Dog wasn't out dragging a black guy from a truck bumper. He was surreptitiously recorded and his words are now being used as fodder by all the can't-we-all-just-get-along sissies who obviously prefer that we all think the same, act the same, walk on egg shells lest we might offend someone, and hold hands and sing kumba-f*cking-yah.

We have sport teams and schools who have had to change their mascots so some on the extreme left won't take offense; it's not 'okay' to display a dummy hanging from a noose on Halloween because a few people might take offense to that; a stupid person burns herself with a hot cup of coffee from McDonalds so she sues them ...and wins; Don Imus refers to a group of nappy-headed hos as "nappy-headed hos" and the can't-we-all-just-get-along crowd gets their panties in a bunch; nowadays it's not only 'okay' to be homosexual, but you're actually 'cool' if you at least know a butt bumper and are 'friends' with him; and of course the granddaddy of them all, we can't even say "Nigger" - we give it such status as to call it "the 'N' word." Well, you know what, "F" all you bitches who think it's okay to stifle individual thought. I am offended that you're offended! How about THAT?!

"Ye the meek shall inherit the Earth" Amen!

I could care less about "Dog" and I agree with most of what the author states. However, it is wrong to include Michael Vick in a discussion of celebrities who have used racist language. Vick was convicted of abusing animals, which is a violent crime of immense cruelty. Vick was responsible for killing other living creatures. No comment, however ugly or racist, is equivalent to the crimes committed by Vick.

On the tape I heard, Dog said he had nothing against the young woman because she was Black. Then he went on to say that he uses the N word often in his home and that he wasn't going to let an N...er ruin him. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that make him a racist? He clearly does refer to Blacks as N...ers, and he appeared to be speaking of Black people in general in the tapes I heard.

Now the thing that I find comical is how many of the Whites on this line have chosen the "Well they call themselves that so why can't we?" tact as a means of absolving one of the racist mantle. But whom may I ask taught Blacks to call ourselves the N word? Because of your racist history many Whites seem to have a hard time remembering that Blacks are supposed to be equal, and free.

Not one person wrote about how it must have hurt this young woman to hear her boyfriend's father say such hurtful things. Much like the Imus case, it seems that when referencing Black women it is okay to call us whatever comes to a white racist pea brain. And I agree with Ofari that A&E is waiting out the outrage.

I never knew who "Dog" was before this. In passing, I've seen the previews for his show but I never once considered tuning in. I still won't.

I don't care if he calls Black people n***ers (I'm Black, btw... I'm so Black, in fact, that I insist on capitalizing "Black")

I don't care if he keeps his show.

I don't care if he loses his show.

I'm stunned that so many people watch his ridiculous show.

I'm stunned that anyone cares what he thinks of Black people or how his cavalier use of the word might affect his career.

There are thousands of non-Black people who think and act like him and they see no need to change.

However...

When all is said and done.

I'm glad that he's squirming in his seat.

Every now and again one of our local Opies slips up and let's their true feelings be known and the rest of the Opies jump to his defense or bend over backwards to condemn him.

All the while, Black and Brown people are dying in the streets or rotting in prison for non-violent crimes, or getting terrorized in their neighborhoods.

But we argue about this fool.

Seriously, this Dog simply doesn't matter.

CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE NOW!

A sitting member of Congress is introducing a measure to impeach the vice president of the United States and the story isn't visible on Alternet. This should be the leading story on a website that bills itself as an "alternative" to the mainstream. Some alternative! More like left gatekeeper.

For those who are interested in doing something constructive about our current state of affairs, please call your representative and urge them to support Mr. Kucinich's bill. The Capitol switchboard is:

1-800-828-0498
1-800-862-5530
1-800-833-6354

Just ask the operator for your representative's office. If you don't know it, tell her/him where you live and she/he will look it up. Once transferred to your representative's office, politely tell the person who answers the phone that you urge your representative to support Kucinich's articles of impeachment against the vice president. You will probably be asked for your name and address.

I just did this. It's the first time I had ever called my representative (Rodney Frelinghuysen in NJ). It was easy and I felt better after doing it.

Oh, did I offend you? It's a word, people! Get over it.

Life is not fair. My parents taught me that "fair" is where one goes to take a risk on an unsafe ride, eat peanuts, laugh at clowns, and step in pig crap.

Contrary to what you may WANT to think, I'm not one bit racist. At the same time, however, I'm not okay with ANYONE telling ANYONE ELSE how to think or speak. If a person is offended by someone else's WORDS, that's on THEM! If someone actually DOES something to hurt another or violate their rights, then I say punish that person ...severely. But until another person actually injures me, I really couldn't care less what they may THINK of me, because I know who I am - I don't go around trying to force others to outwardly agree with my opinions. I realize it's politically incorrect to say this, but people need to learn how to be okay with themselves before blaming everyone else for their misery. I know it's a foreign concept, but it's called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!!

I want to go to sleep.

But guess what? Another TV star has gone off the deep end again for saying something that offended an entire community. Well, almost all of a community.

As a black man(and I say black man because, frankly,I don't believe in the term African American-- last I checked, I have never been to Africa),I'm reaaly not bothered by the words that once again found themselves spewwing out of another's mouth. I hear the words everyday. Why, about 20 minutes ago, I used the same words in a phone conversation with a family member.

Sure, it's easy for me to say that it's nothing for me to hear those words uttered. But who is really afraid of the n-word? In my eyes, it's those people who wish they could say what Dog said and get away with it.
Think about it: how many of us have been conversations about another person and made some kind of remark that would offend that person if they were actually present? That's what happened to Dog.....although it was illegally obtained.

Then there's the whole "black comedians and rappers say it all the time" arguement. How come that's the first statement out of anyones mouth when a white, or for that matter, any other person other than a black person, slips up and speaks their mind? I never hear anyone get mad when Jeff Foxworthy or Larry The Cable Guy use the term red-neck. But then I guess I would'nt; their not black. Ya dig that? I know you get my point.

Now.....I'm going to bed.

Word Power

Current rating: 3    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
Hey, why don't we get over ourselves, take the power out of the word. I have been called all kinds of crackers, sooo!I think the worst offenders are in the African American community, I don't really ever hear my friends say the "N" word, but I do hear it from the black side of the fence. "All the time." If the word had no power, Jessee, and Sharpten would lose alot of airtime, and money. I have black friends who feel the same way. I have felt the hate of reverse discrimination, and I have felt it come at me from my own race. I once marched with Dr. King in the south. I felt it in the south, for befriending a black maid, and walking down the street with her on my way to the same store she was heading for. I once danced with Jessee Jackson at a Stevie Wonder Concert, I had my white butt in the fifth row, and ended up dancing with Jessee. Heard a few comments then too, not to nice, from the black people seated around me. Ya know what, I was there for the music, not to be a racial issue. Just for the brilliant music of a brilliant man of music.

How sad for our society when we can waste so much energy with all this nonsense. How sad a man can't trust his words to his own son. Where are our rights to privacy, to free speech. I see freedom of speech on all the black channels, the comedians are loaded with free speech. The rappers too are loaded with free speech. How did Dog get left out, he can't even have private free speech. That is kind of scarey to me. I don't really watch his show, and I don't know much about him, he is too rough for my taste, but please, maybe he is just one more victim of society. That seems to be the catch all to excuse bad behavior choices.

Anyway, come on, get over yourselves, try to put that energy into something that might really help this country. Remember, divided we fall, do you think it is an accident we are still not working as one nation.

I wish everyone would stop being so touchy with the "N" word. I am white and not a racist, but do use the "N" word. I believe like Dog he uses it like any other curse word using it to make a statement during related conversations. This is hard to explain, because everyone draws the conclusion you are racist whenever a white person uses it, however, like a black person we use it to make a statement. Dog never called this girl the "N" word like he said he uses it and didn't want to offend her. Many many times I use it (to my self at home) I feel I shouldn't have, because I actually have many black acquaintances at work I like far more than the white people. White people call other white people they don't like white trashers in the same context as "N". Please lighten up people!!!!

I wasted about an hour reading all these comments and seen alot of excuses for racism. It's a part of life that will never be ended. I think it's wired into our DNA
But bottom line is our words do have power and we should already have learned to use them responsibly.

Listen to the Juggaknots "Clear Blue Skies"...it may very well summarize the part of the conversation we didn't hear.

I am just as troubled by Chapman's "views" on interracial dating as anyone, but in the end he has the right to think and feel whatever he wants without worrying whether he is being recorded in a private conversation to a family member.

To Chapman I would say quit hanging out around lowlifes and criminals and get to know some responsible, upstanding citizens of EVERY color of the rainbow! Maybe you wouldn't put restrictions on who your children should date based on generalizations.

--------somewhat related point-------------------------------

By the way, we know what white men think of us. And we know why: because they don't know us. And that is their fault. They've never been interested in accepting us as whole, self-actualized human beings. We are still seen as little more than chattel. Please compare if you will the glaring difference between the two women - one white and one black - in the popular "bow-chicka-bowwow" men's body spray commercials: the white women barely moves, only limply sways back and forth in front of the man she is attracted to. Whereas the black woman does a highly sexualized, gyrating, thrusting dance before practically kneeling on all fours in front of, oh yeah...the white man who was smart enough to use the sexy body spray that morning.

to me why is what the dog chapman and imus said about blacks and women should be considered "free speech", but when something is said about the jews, whether it be deragatory of their culture or critical of their policies here in the u.s. or of isreal, not only is it considered anti semitic (whatever that means), but careers and lives are forever ruined because that person was exercising their right to freedom of speech?
Hello Jimmy Carter, Halle Berry, Walter Mearsheimer, Henry Ford, and Bishop Tutu?

Considering that most of the jews here in the u.s. are of european decent, maybe that's the difference that I see, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I never understood how zionism is not equated to racism. That's like saying aparthied is not equated to jim crow. Bias is bias. Discrimination because someone does not look, think, act, smell, or practice the same religion as you does not justify acts of any -isms, but I digress.

I have yet to see a post from anyone regarding Mr. Hutchinson's article about there should be no limits on freedom of speech if something is said about the jews.
SOMEONE PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME!!!!!!

Also while on the subject of freedom of speech, why aren't those who are advocating for the gratuitous use of the n-word as freedom of speech, aren't using that same energy and freedom of speech against our corporate-ran government to force our "elected" officals to reduce taxes and government, stop outsoucing jobs, make accessible healthcare and higher education availiable to all u.s. citizens, and stop this endless war?

White people, those who are born of a different color, culture, and religion from you all are not out to get or take from you. We don't have the power to raise taxes or set policy. We are of the "minority" group remember?

Hey What Goes,

If anyone in the public eye really cares about people who have made mistakes in their life (go to jail); DOG CARES MORE THEN ANYONE AND HAS BEEN THERE!!!!! Since in prison everyone has to be racist or they will be hurt real bad or killed and DOG has been in prison. he is not racist but maybe some of what he was forced to live in prison came out.
I watched DOG for the 1st time about 1 year ago and thought the show would be like COPS. The Police do not give a damm about anyone they are just like robots and SURE the cops do a good job but they have a very limited job which is to protect themselves and society and in many places they are not trained to help people just put everyone in jail, there job is not to think (just arrest). Not putting down cops but DOG is special!
DOG and his wife actually reaches out to the people they catch and try to give them hope. He is really brave when he tries to help these people. Personally I do not know hown he does it. HE IS A GREAT MAN!!

Obviously, the indiscretions of TV "characters" prompt more emotional debate in this country than the issues out there, including racism, that are really tearing us apart.

HEY! I like that show and it bothers me that he gets in trouble for using a word that everyone "secretly" uses. That phone conversation was private and I guess that 'privacy' issue doesn't bother anyone? Can't the Dog be allowed to be the Dog?? He went to prison!! His perception of blacks is obviously skewed because of the quality of people he hung out with during prison!! He's allowed to have an opinion! The media loves to exploit any form of racial discrimination. Out of all the lack luster reality shows, Dog brings a fresh perspective to something that most people don't know too much about. Are we supposed to forget that there are racial boundaries?? The media would like us to.

Don't like Chapman or his show or think he is repulsive? (I do)
Don't watch his show (I don't) - period. End of story.

As far as "allowing" Chapman to "climb back on the airwaves", his show is not on the "airwaves" which are owned by the public. He is on cable.

The use of racial epithets is an indicator of ignorance. Is Chapman a socially ignorant bigot? Maybe - maybe even probably, but so what? He doesn't lose his First Amendment rights even if he is a bigot.

WTF ever happened to the concept (and right) of free speech?
If we disable any of our Constitutional freedoms, the rights for which are mandated in the Bill of Rights, we injure them all.

This entire thing is blown way out of proportion. To compare Dog the Bounty Hunter to Don Imus is just plain ignorant and based completley on a power trip for people who want to see if they can get people taken off the air. Don Imus's comments were on air, Dog's words were during a private conversation and the entire conversation hasn't even been released. Have we forgotten about the first amendment?
For every person out there, including whoever wrote this original article, what are your actions? Did you go to Mexico to capture a serial rapist? Did you try to find help for some drug addict who essentially was trying to steal thousands of dollars from your family after you helped him so he didn't have to sit in jail? Did you drop out of school in Jr high, go to jail, and then turn into a tax paying, socially conscious, contributing member of society?
Your actions are to write blogs about the man and family who did those things above and then state his entire lively hood should be ruined because of one word he said in a private conversation with his son. Let's record every conversation you have with family members and send bits and pieces to them to your job so you can be fired.
For the guy who used "cracker" throughout his entire comment, please let me know where you work. I am deeply offended by that word and even though you wrote it on your own time away from your job, I think you need to be fired because I don't like that word. It offends me and is extremly racist.

Now your demonstrating to the world what a racist your are with all of your heart. You made it very clear that you chose A&E because you wanted to pray on TV and show the world what good christians you are. I'm going to guess that all the MONEY, POWER, FAME took over and now the DEVIL is LAUGHING his butt off.
IT'S A REAL SHAME THAT YOU WERE NOT MAN ENOUGH TO KEEP THE FAITH. I'M SURE GOD WILL THROW A LOT OF EXCITING AND FUN FILLED CHALLENGES INTO YOUR LIFE UNTIL HE FEELS YOU HAVE TRULEY LEARNED YOUR LESSON. THIS WILL TAKE A LOT OF PATIENTS "DOG". Good Luck, Your about to lose every thing he gave you.

What about the freedom of private speech...?

Dog's comments were taken (stolen, really) from a private telephone conversation (with his son, right?). The content of that call was taken, I'm guessing, without his knowledge or permission and distributed. This would seem to be an unfair infringement of his privacy. Even a**holes should be entitled to their privacy. (Though our current government may disagree.) There's nothing illegal about wanting your children to date their own kind. Unenlightened it may be but many groups are known to pressure their young to stay within the borders of the tribe. To choose to do so is called freedom of choice (unless you're only doing it to satisfy your parents, then it's foolish submission).

I'm not defending the content of Dog's speech--far from it--only his right to speak his (narrow) mind in private and not be treated as if he were speaking publically. (Credit to his son, an apple that has apparently fallen afar from the family tree.) This was not an Don Imus episode. Also, was Dog in a managerial position to discriminate against personnel, make decisions about programming, or dictate policy? No, he was but a gritty bit player in program that essentially glorifies people who are, well, professional a**holes. Isn't he exactly the kind of person you'd expect him to be? (It's in his job description to see his targets as lowly scum.) What--you were expecting him to be some kind of bleeding heart liberal?

I'm also a little disapppointed with Earl Ofari Hutchinson's take on this--whose work I usually enjoy. It read more reactionary than thoughtful. He's following the herd on this one.

Just a few things to ponder ......
Why is it that when a black person makes fun of, or degrades white people in their comedy acts or tv sitcom shows, or basically anywhere publicly, it gets shoved under the rug. It's protocal to immediately forgive the over sight. We even laugh along many times ........
Why is it that black people call each other the n..... word ALL THE TIME But if a white person says it, WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAA Get the guns out, call the ACLU, fire him, call all the news stations, blah blah blah
SOOOOOOOOOOOo boring.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Kinda like talking out of both sides of your mouth EH?????

What is particularly disturbing to me about this situation is that his own son taped it and sold it. Thats disgraceful. Im more concerned about that issue than what Dog said. I must admit, that turned my stomach when I heard that. Then the girlfriend gets her 2 minutes of the spotlight by being interviewed on tv. We have a lot more problems in our world these days than racial slurs.

We live in America, where last time I checked there is a thing called freedom of speech. Who are we, or anyone else, to stand up and say that Dog can't say whatever he feels like saying in a private conversation to his son? A conversation that should have stayed private. Meanwhile, we have so much more going on in the world that our focus should be on. It doesn't matter to me what he said, or who he said it to, I still stand behind him. What would happen if every famous person had telephone conversations taped and put out to the public?? While most may disagree with me, I have to say, had Dog been a black person blurting out racial slurs about a white person, he would have been forgiven by alot more people than he seems to be now. I say as long as we live in a country were there are so many soliders dying for our rights, one of those being freedom of speech, we should all realize that words can do no physical harm, unless we allow them to.

I've read where some people say that it's ok for black people to use this word and not white people. I don't think that's right either. If white people can't say it then the blacks need to stop saying it too.

Also what's the big deal, black people use bad language to talk about white people too! It's in the past. People need to get over it! It's over. Everyone is equal!

As a Christian, I say this -- look at people's hearts not thier skin color!

if he had used any terms that aren't already in use by the black community to refer other black people. Such terms are quite common among black people so obviously they are not derogatory to them. I hear much worse from black people to other black people all the time, yet a white person says it and that's okay. He was using the terms of that culture, which is apparently acceptable for black people to use but not a white person.

The most racist people I've ever met are black people. They're hatred for everyone who is not black is deep and vicious. Perhaps if they start showing respect to others and even t hemselves, they will get the same in return.

Racial Terms?
Posted by: hateignorance on Nov 7, 2007 9:56 AM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
There is a lot of ignorance in America!! I think everyone in America should be educated about where racial terms come from and what they really mean before they judge. This goes for white, black, mexican, asian, european, etc racial terms and there are terms for all that are used in America. Oh, you don't hear much except the white and black terms because it is such a BIG deal. Only because those races make it a big deal. If America was educated on where these words derived from and what they actually mean then there would not be this big ordeal. They are not offensive and shouldn't be taken in that way! But of course ignorance steps in and makes it that way. I say to all, before you get offended -- learn what the words mean and where they come from, then you may become offended. Words are always "evolving" to mean different things because of ignorance. When a racial term is used to describe me personally from another person, I feel sadness. Not that the word hurts me but I am sadned from the ignorance of the person using it. They mean to offend me but it doesn't. I am educated. I feel sorry for the person that they are so angry and that "lost" in their life and pray for them so that they can release those grudges and become "whole". I once asked an african american why they call each other the "n" word. He simply said that they don't they call each other "nigga" and that there was a difference. Educationally, there is no difference. No matter how you spell it or say it - it comes from the same source and has the same meaning which unfortunatly has been made to be a racial terms when it is not origianally. Basically, I say to all offended by WORDS - get educated and above this and your life will be full of happiness.
Of course this is only my opinion and I don't expect everyone to agree with it. That is why there is free will....

come on people this dog the bounty hunter some overblown a&e reality action hero the the american people gobble up because they dont know any better. I find its so dam funny when black people call them self niggers and " shes a black bitch. and when a white person use those words all of a sudden its not cool and they have to wine about it. lets see what I dont wine about for example once a black said to in a club you have one nice looking white bitch I replied" thanks"
and went and danced with my wife .
I think we need to chill out and let dog and his son work out after all it was between them , but I sure that A&e might find some reality therapthy show for them to work out for all of us to see, after all we have nothing better to do with our own lives.

I think I have seen the show the Bounty Hunter, years ago when I still had cable. Dog the bounty hunter is really a show targeted to certain people, I find it offensive, and I could go on and on about Dog, who is is and why he is, and the tv show, who watches it and why...I find this show, many other shows to be offensive and Nazi...These shows perpetuates the dysfunctional, horrible justice/crime system in the US...I listened to the tape on the internet, not because I it was everywhere on the internet...I did not get the context of the conversation, but it sounded like a marginally predjudice guy who didn't like a woman who his son dates and being Black made it worse? Who knows???But really who really cares, this is trivial, do you actually think you can stop racism by making a person pay for something they said, or for jailing them or getting them fired????That's delusional to even think, actually by making such a stink over it, it could create more anger, less dialog and perpetuate racism...Like others have said, and yes I am white too, (does that make me wrong?)there are so many really important things going on that are killing, starving and hurting men women and children of all races right now, that this is like calling the fire department to put out a candle when the rest of the block is on fire!!!!Are the new/old Black leaders like Sharpton and Jackson so powerless that the only issues that they will address are the trivial issues that even when solved, (oh Imus got fired for a few months and got rehired!) are meaningless?
You cannot outlaw racism in any form, unless you can create the "Thought Police," to jail the nasty racists who use bad words...Can't you see the war on people who are poor in the US, can't you see the real evils that really hurt kill people everyday, world wide????And yet this superficial way of thinking, is like the Dog's of the world, living in a tunnel, seeing what you want to make your fame and fortune....Shame on you, and shame on Sharpton and Jackson, they are superficial, impotent posers who are fat and well off and allowed to function because they are harmess trivials no threat to anything, no real change, no intelligence...Maybe they work for the Bush administration????They are nothing but empty God Heads, remnants of a day when real leaders took political action in arenas that made a long term difference....

No defence for Dog

Duane Chapman stepped up and proved what I have been saying since I first laid eyes on his show...this guy belongs on Jerry Springer and not A&E. That is where we prefer our trailer trash (of any race) to settle! This family's spot on a once reputable channel has tarnished A&E forever, and that was prior to his racist rant! Now, there is no place low enough for this egomaniacal ex-con to air his wares! Shame on you, A&E for not outright canceling this program! To NOT do so is tantamount to defending his right to demean both women and Afro-Americans! Shame on you for providing a forum for his nonsense to begin with. This man is no hero. If I have seen anything in this show, it has been his unflagging belief that he is above the law, now it would seem he is above common decency as well. I was raised to believe in equal rights for all. At all times. Everywhere! Once out of the glare of the spotlight and in the privacy of his own nasty little world, he blithely shows us what he is made of. Bigotry, sexism and vulgarity are truly his forte. A&E - put him back under the rock he crawled out from under. We have had enough of the Dog!

Don't even try to link what Dog did to the stupid actions of Michael Vick. He thought he was above the law and found out he was dead wrong! It's about time someone paid for killing dogs! Don't for one second thing that I or anyone else would care if Michael Vick was White or blue or green or purple. We only care that he thought it was ok to fund/participate in an operation that would take the life of another living animal. He knew what he did was wrong and illegal. What Dog did was not illegal. It may have been bad judgement on his part, but it was a private telephone conversation between family. He has made his amends and I'm sure will continue to do so. Judging him for what he said because "He is white and said it to a black women" is ridiculous. You should be judging the use of the word from anyone of any race. NOT JUST WHITE PEOPLE! If it is so mean and hurtfull, why is it ok for other people to use it. Just the other day I heard a black man use that term to say hi to his friends. I must say they weren't upset at all. Use your voice to help eliminate the word! Not just say who can and can't use it. It's AMERICA people....Freedom of SPEACH!

Once again, the double standard in this country rears it's head. It's ok for the black community to pour out the filth they do about their men and women, but the minute a white person does - whether it's in jest as was the case with Imus, or in a PRIVATE phone conversation as was the case with Dog - the whole country goes insane. Here's something no one wants to talk about - if people think racism is something that comes from white people and directed toward black people - they are seriously jaded. When I got pregnant with my daughter, who's father was black (I'm white) it was my black friends who really had trouble. Some quit talking to me, some friendships ended, some changed. My white friends had NO problems with an interracial relationship or child. My black friends did. But we don't hear about racism from black people towards whites. And we don't hear about the private conversations between blacks when they talk about white people. This really is an out of control witch hunt in this country and a double standard that is out of control. Everyone is so afraid of being called a racist, or having the likes of Jackson or Sharpton all over them, they are getting stupid.

I don't agree with dog using the N word, but for the love of god this whole situation is ridiculous! His son should feel ashamed to have exploited his father in this way, it was a personal conversation, and used in the worst way to get back at his father, the media, that is low to me. I don't care who you are, but everyone has called someone, something offense in their life in a moment of anger, it is human nature! It does not make it right, but it's the truth. and it does not make you racist. If people would put this kind of effort and speech into something important, like starving children, providing a better and more affordable education for our children, supporting local breakfast programs so childrens minds can be nourished, the world would sure be a better place! People should thank dog for all the work he has done, and all the criminals he has captured. He has made our world a better place because of it, and shame on us for not allowing people to make mistakes, and for not showing forgivness! We all need to find a bigger problem to solve then this one!

Dog the Bounty Hunter: A Scam?

The whole thing seems suspicious to me, like maybe Dog the Bounty Hunter & his son cooked up this scheme to both get massive publicity, AND possibly be able to do a "Don IMUS", get the TV Show KICKED OFF A&E Network, at which point they would SUE A&E Network, like IMUS did.

It worked for Imus, he made out like a BANDIT, to the tune of several MILLION Dollars! And, guess what, Imus is back on the Air again, though why anybody except Neanderthal old White Rednecks would want to listen to him on the Radio, or watch him on TV, is beyond me!

The same goes for the pathetic "Dog the Bounty Hunter" TV show. How the Media can put on such garbage, such DRECK, is a mystery. To me the important question to ask is how in the world did this freakish "bounty hunter" genetic mutant family get to have their own T.V. show?

I'm sure there are PLENTY of talented Americans, white, black, hispanic, whatever, who could produce really good T.V. shows. The "Jerry Springer Show" started this depressing downward spiral, quality being sacrificed to the bottom line. Sinking into the primeval slimy ooze of:

LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR!!!

Worst of all, the rot has spread to radio & television NEWS programs. How else to explain "O'Reilly Factor", or "Rush Limbaugh", or "Tucker" or "Glenn Beck" shows? We've allowed the corporate media to so "dumb down" our News, that "Dubya" was elected President of the United States! That Britney Spears has a #1 Record!

I know that saying racial comments is bad, but come on, people are allowed to have thier own thoughts on things, there are racist people out there, if dog was a regular person and wasn't on tv no one would care. a white person can't say nigger but i black person can call a white person whity or cracker or whatever they want. its bullshit. only the white can be a racist. PUT DOG BACK ON THE AIR..he might not like black people but president bush doesnt like them either but is he no longer the president? no treat everyone equal.. im going to do a reaseach paper on this, i will prove some facts about this. It truly bugs me. I wish people could just let someone be who they are without sharing it with the world. I think dog still rocks even if he said those things. whatev...find someone else like brittney spears to bug some more, she smokes around her kids! wow, like the never happens. leave the celebs alone!

"Dog" - Choices and Consequences

“Dog” the bounty hunter…axed from A&E for his comments. Well…it goes back to a comment I make around the country as a Motivational Speaker – Every Choice Has A Consequence. I know…I served time in Federal Prison for my choices. “Dog” used the “N” word in a manner that is likely natural for him and in an emotional way that would suit his educational background and lifestyle. The difference – he is in the media light. Every Choice Has A Consequence – and one can’t use background, education, or any other excuse to justify their choice and the resultant consequence. Genarlow Wilson, O.J. Simpson, Martha Stewart, Richard Scrushy or Mike Nifong (former Duke prosecutor) – each has made a choice that has resulted in negative consequences – no different than I. Perhaps we are becoming more aware that we must take the time to make wise choices – so we can enjoy the positive results that can follow.

Here is the thing dude, you could not be more wrong. First of all this comparison to Vick and Washington is absurd! Michael Vick is on the coals because he is a dog murdering psychopath. And how dare you compare brutally murdering animals to someone's right to free speech, that is crazy. Secondly Washington got in trouble because he said what he said in the workplace. There is a major difference between what you say at work and what you say in your home. Furthermore I might add, I defend Washington because he does have a fists amendment right, and he should be forgiven, in the future he should however leave language he knows to be offensive at home. Finally this whole assumption that if Dog were black there would be an outrage.... Sir have you ever heard of Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson? With their rants about white interlopers, and hime town (I am Jewish by the way), these men did face people who were pissed off about this, but their standing in the black community is still in tact and they still have their careers. You say in your article you called for Dog to be canceled, not just suspended, well good for you. I am glad that you could push your ideology on the rest of us, because you clearly know best when it comes to what the rest of the country should be allowed to watch on tv. Get off the crusade, because me and the rest of the country can handle ourselves and we don't need you to protect us from the big bad dog.

I realize my comment will anger a lot of people. Anyone who finds what "Dog" said offensive is a sniveling idiot. Why should Dog apologize for using language that is acceptable and common within the black community? Perhaps if the BLACK COOMUNITY WOULD STOP USING THESE WORDS AS AN ACCEPTABLE FORM OF ADDRESS TO EACH OTHER - others would not be so quick to use the same terms. I have seen many black people, both young and old, call each other nigger, as well as seeing many black actors use these terms without regard in movies. WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE explain why it is appropriate when said in this context but OFFENSIVE if said by someone white. Strange rules... who made them up and who's job is it to enforce them? It seems to be acceptable for BLACK PEOPLE to call each othe NIGGER & BITCH but NOT okay when a white does this?? GIVE ME A BREAK....

OK people, of all races.....this is a television show. Frankly I love it....and I for one have never heard Dog use this word on any episode of "A & E's money making program. Hurry A & E, oh my one of our program stars has offended someone. These television networks are so afraid of their own freakin shadow it's really pathetic. Let one of us who has not used a racist word throw the first stone......especially on a telephone in the privacy of their own home. DOG (Duane Chapman) lost his temper with his son. I'll take a leap of faith here and just guess that one out of every three households that same day had an irate and pissed off conversation about a family matter. To my knowledge, family matters are not the world's business. DOG is one of the most manly men I have admired in probably all of my life....a man that can admit his faults (honestly), cry because his heart is bigger than can be imagined, do his time and pay the price for a mistake (he did or didn't commit) is in my judgment a MAN hands down. This guy, along with his family has created a show that finally is not sexually related, silly and goofy, nonsense that is called comedy. Reality shows with model woman fighting over some handsome rich and fake 30 something guy where they wade in hot tubs, drink wine, and claw at one another to OMG have him PICK them like an apple off a tree after 3 weeks of DATING????? DOG is not CSI NY, Miami, Oregon, Alaska, Vegas and probably soon to be 5 other states or countries.
Simply why don't we look at DOG the Bounty Hunter as the man who finds bail jumpers and wanted criminals. He along with his family seat these criminals, most of them no doubt infectious with disease from using, God only know what they have contracted from drug related activities. Dangerous to say the least. He talks to these people like human beings once the catch is made. This man loves what he does and loves his family. How many races has he had sit in his car between him and his sons or brother or wife and talk to them about cleaning up, keeping faith, don't give up. How many have they re-bonded because their hearts are united as a family and know that even if they are convicts, felons, drug users or just have missed court dates, they have families that need them and have weighed this out and done right by them. America freedom of speech. The N word to me is a nasty word, used in any context by any one persons mouth....even in songs, gang language, street talk.....it is ridiculous. Why don't we ever hear about Jewish slanderous words, Irish slanderous words, Mexican slanderous words, Italian slanderous words, and so on and so on......I think the N word, Bi-polar as an excuse for crossing the street the wrong way, ADD because a kid stood up during class and disrupted an entire room, Waps instead of Italians, Cheap as a Jewish slander, Drunks as an Irish slander, Asians as intelligent, or whatever nickname a person uses in vindictiveness or anger....I have yet to see a TV Show cancelled for any of those remarks, I have yet to see an uprising by organizations other than the use of the N word.....
My God it is 2007, soon to be 2008.......ancestry mistakes, slavery in all forms has been addressed in all respects....I don't forget that our ancestors came to this country under horrible circumstances. Grow up America...on 911 we were all Americans....we all ran at the same speed, we all feared for our lives, we were all frightened, afraid and vulnerable. My fear right now is that many of us did forget....DOG The Bounty Hunter should not be banned....his show and his advice and his ideals that don't come from a book, that come from a man who has lived this life and wants to share what he actually lived.....is a TRUE AND UP FRONT REALITY SHOW.....
Let they who have not sinned cast the first stone........please what a joke to think this man is being used as an example....
I say he has apologised, believe it or not believe it.....grow up

An anecdotal story: Where I live in NYC there is a Southern-themed restaurant that has a sweet all you can eat special called "White-trash Wednesdays." Now I'm black West Indian but I hang with a lot of whites. So we would go to this restaurant and the first couple times I used the term "White-trash Wednesday" I noticed a little bit of a disturbance from the white waitress and even from my friends. So i thought to myself, maybe I'm imagining this but just to be on the safe side I won't use it.

And I haven't since. Do you realize the main rebuttal white people have every time one of them gets caught calling people niggers? You blacks do it so why can't we? You are asserting your right to use racist terminology. Why is that so important to you?

I feel bad for Dog and genuinely think he was sorry for what he said; but he said it. I do not think his privacy should have been invaded but when your information gets put out there, and you say/send it out-there is nothing for you to do but suffer the consequences because their are few choices.Yeah, he has the right to free speech; but people have a right to complain.Folks suffer everyday for things like this. For example when a young person writes a letter to their significant other suggesting things they want to do to them.Other people get hold of it and spread it around; but when an adult gets it, they punish them.It was between the writer and significant other but when they passed it around they risked putting it out there. It is not fair, right,or justified but "stuff" happens. Same when a couple tapes themselves having sex and they mix it up with the tape they order at the video stores. It is sad when that happens. It was an intimate private thing but that is a clear case of the things you do behind closed doors risk being exposed; and suffering the consequences. Nothing should happen, but it does. To Dog's credit, that was a private conversation but everybody knows when you are famous your privacy ain't always your own. That comes with the territory. This ain't Dog's fault and he did not deserve it; but this was the consequence of him forgetting this. The main reason I do not like his show being canceled is because he said what he said in the privacy of his home and not at work. He was alright though I had some problems at times with things about his show.Still some observations Earl Hutchinson made were true. This issue is used as a way to bash blacks that support his cancelation and on sly generally. Despite the content of hip hop, when it was all said and done-Dog said this, not rappers. Dog, Imus, Richards, and others say what they say because of their own prejudice. This ain't mostly the problem of rappers for several reasons. One, we live in a racist society and racist see people different as their enemies. People generally tend to denigrate their enemies regardless of how they act and racist do this by calling out who they hate out of their names. Two, regardless of race, people are both good and evil but despite this, people still discriminate. Three ,most blacks(rich, middle, poor) are law abiding, hardworking citizens and you could find this out if you were willing to look but time and again you hear about lawless criminal folks-and predjudiced folks believe this is all there is despite the real facts and evidence to the country. Oftentimes, despite evidence of the truth, biased folk ignore true information because it threatens to alter their worldview. Four these are grown men. They know betta. They got brains and conscience. I am not saying some rappers always have the most productive things to say but rappers make enough of their own horrible mistakes without needing to be the scapegoat of everybody else. Five, blacks folks have a right to call themselves anything they wish whether positive or negative for the simple fact that others do. Blacks do not need to asks others for approval on what they call themselves. Others do not give others the power to define what they say or don't say and they don't let outsiders say epithets in reference to them without their sanctions. Others simply do not have that sanction so they do not have the right to say it- bottom line. Not to say that black folks should use these terms-THEY SHOULDN'T-but it is not others rights to try to demand they have a right to say epithets or make space for themselves. It is one thing to want his show on the air. But the defenses of Dog are over the top. Finally, someone commented that Isaiah Washington stated what he said in public whereas Dog said his in private. I do agree with his observation. But Isaiah did apologize like Dog, and he lost his job.

Why is it funny when a black man says THE "N" word AND OR RAPS THE WORD AND DEGRADE THIER WOMEN and its not Ok for the White Man says it. THE N WORD IS SO VERY COMMON IN THE WORLD OF RAP-WE ARE BUYING THE CD'S WITH THE N WORD SO REPETICIOUS THAT THIS IS ALL YOU CAN HEAR ALONG WITH THE DEPRAVE WORDS AGAINST THE WOMAN-WHY IS THIS ACCEPTED. WE SHOULD BAN THIS MUSIC IF YOU CAN CALL IT MUSIC. WHY IS THIS ACCEPTED ? BECAUSE FREEDOM OF SPEACH IS PRICELSS HOWEVER THERE IS THE REV OR OTHERS pointing the finger at IMUS, DOG and all the other white people that say anything of the sort ARE WE NOT BEING A LITLE HYPOCRITICAL? the Rev and all the other hypocrites that do not march against the Rapper or Producer of this music. Yes t its deplorable to say the N word, however not only for the white man . It should be deplorable to EVERYONE, Who cares what is in the heart of each person who uses the word. NO ONE SHOULD SAY THE N WORD-AND IF THE BLACKS SAY IT, WHY CAN'T the whites say it. NO ONE SHOULD CALL ANOTHER HUMAN BEING ANY KIND OF DEPLORABLE NAMES. THE BIGGER WE MAKE IT THE WORSE IT GETS. We all need to feel that no matter what color we all are we are children of God and therefore all the same. Lets just stop persecuting each other and worry about our love ones and respect others. Please stop this-Love your neighbor no matter what color they are-The world needs more love for one another. WE ARE LOOSING LIVES IN THIS WAR..LIVES -HUMAN LIVES- LETS NOT FORGET THIS EVER! WE ARE THERE FIGHTING THIS HORRIBLE WAR AND OUR MILITARY BOYS AND GIRLS ARE IN THE SAME BOAT AND THEY ARE ALL BLACK, WHITE, PURPLE, POK-A- DOT, BLUE OR WHATEVER RACE THEY MAY BE... THEY ARE IN THE SAME BOAT.LETS JUST SEE EACH OTHER AS ONE. So many horrible things happening in our world and we are calling each other names. Lets respect private conversations-one can say anything in private.Search your soul, I am sure we have all said things that we are ashamed of after we said it. This does not mean we really meant it. We said it because maybe we were angry or what ever but really did not mean it. Lets just respect each other and stop the persecuting one another.

How many times does this have to be said:
--Racism is not just a prejudice, it is an entire institutional structure reproduced partly *through* prejudice, by which black people, especially young black males, are systematically treated as second-class citizens and as a "problem": facing more obstacles in finding education, employment, and housing; facing harsher penalties in the criminal justice system; facing obstruction of their right to vote; as well as facing petty racist humiliations every day. All this causes extreme stress and leads to depression, rage, other mental illness, alcohol and drug dependency, intrafamilial and intracommunal violence, and higher adult morbidity and mortality rates.
--The history of the treatment of black people in America (more than a century and a half of slavery, 1700-1875, followed by another near-century of Jim Crow (1880-1965 or so) casts a long and very painful shadow over the present-day situation of both blacks and non-blacks in this country. In other words, black people have only had about 40-45 years of even full *formal legal* equality, and they still do not have real social, economic, and political equality. To pretend otherwise, quite simply, is to capitulate to racism.
--It is therefore NOT the same for a white media personality to use the n-word as it is for a black one to do so, any more than it is the same for white students to hang a noose from a tree as it is for black students to do so. Words and symbols are part of a three-century narrative of slavery, terror, discrimination, exploitation, brutality, injustice, and abuse that is one of the great shames of American history. The words and symbols carry that history into the present.

A minor point: That said, and much as I agree with most of what Dr. Hutchinson says here, I wish he would copyedit his essays more carefully, or that his editor would: it's "somersault" not "summersault," for instance, and there are several instances of sentence fragments and some typos and grammatical errors. The more severe one's criticisms, the more it behooves one to be impeccable as a writer.

How can you compare Vick's crimes of brutality to Duane Chapman's ill-conceived words? Or the use of crude language to the outrageous injustices done to the Jena 6 and Genarlow Wilson? Even though I don't endorse this kind of nasty language, I'm sick of all the fuss over it. It seems like some people are just waiting for a chance to say "Gotcha!"

Besides, it's no surprise that Imus came back, and Dog the Bounty Hunter will also return. So what in hell did everyone get all het up over anyway? Save your energy for the real injustices.

The phone converation was between two people on a phone, not something said in public about all blacks. We Have all made remaks about someones race, handycap, gays, reglion.
It's not good, but we all fall to the fault even if it wasn't said while mad

dog the bounty hunter

although i do not agree with what dog the bounty hunter said, i believe all of us at one time or another have been guilty of racial or mad tirades at sometime or another....i am not defending dog nor am i judging, i just happen to know what the good book says that none of us are perfect and i am just wondering why it is that when a white man says anything remotely offensive that he is judged so harshley and a black man says on everyday television racist things towards the white race it is taken in stride.....why can't we stand together hold each others hand and become brothers and sisters of understanding that we all make mistakes....ok i know the slave thing....blah blah ....i wasn't there and neither were most of you ..... if i could go back in time to change that i would sorry i can't,but i am tired of the fact that what happened before most of us were born we have to live with the rest of our lives....it's not just the racial thing not just a color thing....it's just a fame game when something can get sharpton, jackson (jesse)kanye west or anyone that acts perfect black or white but in the reality of the situation is just as bad for the judging and do the exact same thing behind closed doors towards differant races....when are you going to understand that know matter the color of your skin you came from one man and one woman that was created by the almighty....therefore like it or not we are all just family....but in the sinister world we live in people think notarioty is better than forgiveness.....so do you believe in GOD???? i have a question, if you do how is it he can give his son to pay for all sins yours and mine and let him be beaten to a pulp and shed his blood to cleanse and forgive us of ours??? i know i am not perfect,i know i have said things in life i regret saying out of the heat of the moment but just ask yourself are you perfect ? have you NEVER said anything about in public or private that you regret? kanye took the advantage of being on TV to say president bush doesn't care about black people, yet he continues to enjoy success....why...that's just as racist if not more so cause he knew he was on tv and took the liberty of blaming someone of a natural disaster when bush directly tried to save people in advance but the governer of la. i believe turned down a week in advance......did NEW ORLEANS HAVE BUSSES DID THEY HAVE WARNING yes but always point finger to act like bigshot and i believe that makes for a hipocrit sorry had to get this off my mind .....people ....there are racist that need God ....there are athiast that need God....and i believe there are a lot of christians and revs. and want to be in the spiritual spotlight that are in dyer need of God....i know i need him more than words can express and will wake up tomorrow needing him even more the thing is do you want the world to be great or do you want the worldly glory?as for me persicute me all you want judge me all you want but God through the name Jesus will be the only way to harmony....there are churches that say come worship and believe that if you don't believe all their way you are hellbound is that not judging????LOVE EVERYONE....PEACE

Double standards

"If Dog were black and had unloosed a string of expletive laced white 'B's at his son for dating a white woman, there would have been a national outcry. A&E would have instantly and permanently pulled the plug on the show. And the Dog would have never in this life graced any studio in America."

I don't agree with that at all. It's acceptable to hear black people mocking white people on comedies such as "Fresh Prince of Bel-air." Hell, even on South Park some black characters can be quoted for saying "Well, aren't you crackers just cute as the dickens?" and "You crazy little cracker!" and "I've had it with this whole cracker-ass town!" Racial slurs against whites are being tossed around TV like an over-blown beach ball. Why aren't these shows being critisized and pulled from TV? The N-word is never spoken on TV shows or in movies unless it is spoken by (a) another black person, or (b) a white "bad guy" who is eventually foiled in the end.

If Dog the Bounty Hunter is to be condemned for what he said in a private conversation, then these other shows should be pulled as well for the racial slurs that are made against whites. Any TV host who is recorded saying something offensive should be fired and their show should be cancelled. Anyone who makes a sexist remark, a racist remark, a homophobic remark, or a classist remark should be fired, publicly humiliated, and verbally crucified for having the gall to say such a thing.

Well, we'd all be unemployed and feel like sh*t then, wouldn't we?

Dog is only human. He made a mistake. He said he was sorry. What more do you want him to do? When will he finally earn his forgiveness? Will you not be happy until he is unemployed and his pride is ripped away from him? Will he have suffered enough then?

I admire Dog because he was a criminal and now he fights crime. I admire him because he is trying to turn his life around. It can only be expected that he will mess up along the way. But the wonderful thing about Dog is that he always picks himself up and tries to make himself better. With God's help, I know he'll make himself better once he picks himself up from this tumble.

For all the second chances he's given, doesn't he deserve a second chance too?

Are we no longer a coextensive sociaty

Heck, if we are going to be partial, I purpose we throw the word negro back out on the street.
With a little practice we could all eventually banish the slang. The negros would be happy
And Dog could say negro from now on in public or in the "violation of privacy of his own home."
And hijacked conversations such as his would no longer constitute any racial viability. I guess the networks and the law no longer consider the civil rights of any other ethnicities besides that of the negro communities. Are we no longer a coextensive sociaty? Wouldnt it make sence to uphold all the law and not be partial to the laws exibiting civil rights ,like the Right to
Privacy and the amendment of Freedom of Speech?I havent heard any legal action taken
against this individual for recording a private conversation, obviously with out the
permission(George Bush)of both parties ,and then" publisizing" it over & over again. Its like shes bragging about intruding on Dogs privacy and getting away with it civily. Why isnt she in jail or court? Her feelings arent hurt.If they are... over & over again, its her fault.Lets Sue her everybody!See you soon Dog!

Just the "title" of this comment is self explanetory in conjunction to the freedom of speech ect...

Wait for it..............I don't hear anybody Black/nor white/nor any other(Lable) defending the good name of Jesus Christ as it has been blasted in his names sake.Or is it too controversial to say that the Networks pick and choose what ever gets the best rating.Hmmmm..I'm really surprized A&E hasn't started a reality show just to handle the responce this issue has populized.
!!Nonsence!!
I don't think it's about ethic's at all. What I do think is it's all begining to get a wee-bit confusing trying to figure out what this "society as a whole" v/s the society as an "individual" really want's for this nations "United We Stand"
