10 Reasons Glenn Beck Should Get Off the Air and Never Come Back

The ColorOfChange boycott campaign against Beck's advertisers is working remarkably well. Here are some reasons to join them.

1 ) Over thirty companies have stopped running ads on the Glenn Beck show due to his racist statements.

2 ) Beck once aspired to be a top 40 radio DJ (snort).

3 ) He Relayed this message to a 7-year-old girl who wrote a poem about white nationalism: “You want to go to Africa? I will personally purchase your airfare. I’ll do it. It’s one-way. You have to sign a contract that you will never return to the United States.”

4 ) He endangers the eardrums of listeners. Hear for yourself – if you dare. Pay close attention to his astounding vocabulary and turn down the volume to prevent damage.

5 ) He posted this video about his butt surgery that Jason Linkins at The Huffington Post described as a “video in the style of the Blair Witch Project about how he had scary drugged-up visions that left him angry that the people who treated him at the hospital did not give him the rich-person compassion that he felt he deserved.”

6 ) He compared “the American people that feel disenfranchised right now” (white males) to a mass murderer, and implied that they were being silenced by “political correctness”. He suggested that they would resort to violence, because they were being “pushed to the wall”.

7 ) He said that antiwar protester Cindy Sheehan is “pimping out the tragedy of her own son’s death for her own agenda.” and also “That’s a pretty big prostitute.”

8 ) He’s an anti-immigrant bigot. He suggested that Obama is burning down the country by trying to repair the immigration system. He pretended to be the President in a skit in which he douses an actor with gas-can contents and lights a match. He also regularly refers to immigrants as criminals and with derogatory terms.

9 ) Beck started the 9/12 Project, a shameful exploitation of the 9/11 tragedy. Maybe he forgot that back in 2005 he said, “I didn’t think I could hate victims faster than the 9-11 victims.”

10 ) He called the first African-American President racist. Need I say more?

As Eric Ward wrote yesterday in his article In Seven Days You Can Help Defeat Anti-Immigrant Bigotry, we all need to aid Color of Change to put an end to Beck’s amplified voice. Visit their site and join the “Stop the race baiting” campaign to show your support.
