GOP Has Hit the Dead-End of Politics: Who's Going to Buy Their Fear and Hysteria?

What sort of psychological bent would lead people to want to be part of a dead-end political party like the GOP has become?

Clearly, fear--stirring it as well as succumbing to it--is central to such a psyche, and Republicans are swinging that big spiked mace as wildly as if it were the night before a bitterly contested election. This Web ad that came out last week isn't from Michael Savage or Glenn Beck (more from them later) but from House minority leader John Boehner and intel committee ranking Republican Pete Hoekstra.

Actually, we do feel safer, most people would say. The world doesn't hate us quite as much now that a president is offering a handshake instead of the finger, and we're not alienating our allies now that we're not asking them to jump off the Geneva Convention while screaming "Yee-ha!" all the way down.

The strange thing is that Repubs are still producing this kind of National Security theater, complete with cardiac arrest-soundtrack, even though it's failed time and again over the past two years in campaign ads for Tom Tancredo, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and just about every other doomed GOP hopeful.

At some point the vaunted Republican noise machine stopped being about winning elections and became instead a feckless attempt at mass justification, popping out one lame excuse after another for the party's failures. And it was a short leap from there to simply hitting rewind on the rightwing's longtime romance with a Lost Cause. Like Southerners still waving the stars'n'bars 150 years after Appomattox, or Col. Custer blithely riding up that coulee into an overwhelming force of Sioux and Cheyenne warriors, today's Repub diehards will go to their graves muttering about the fascist-socialist-gun-snatching tyranny of Barack Osama, convincing themselves sotto voce that, by fighting for a lower tax-rate for the extremely wealthy, they're the true descendants of the American Revolution. As the teabag-besotted begillionaire Mitt Romney told a Republican crowd this weekend, with no apparent sense of his own absurdity, "We are the party of the revolutionaries, they [Democrats] are the party of the monarchists."

That new study indicating that conservatives might not quite understand that Stephen Colbert's wingnut rants are devastating mockery rings true. Because not understanding isn't just a failure to get the joke, it's a defense mechanism: Without a certain level of cluelessness, the whole party would be knocking around in an unstatesmanlike manner, blurting, "My God, what have I done?" Isn't it simpler to insist, as Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe does, that Arlen Specter's flight from the GOP is exactly what the party needs to regain control of both the House and the Senate? "This is the first visible evidence that what happened in 1993 is happening again now," Inhofe told Fox News, sounding like Caligula claiming that treasure chests of seashells were his tribute from Neptune for defeating the sea.

Why are these marble men so determined to resurrect dead, failed ideas? It isn't simply because they don't have new ones (which they don't). There's also a psychological payoff to committing yourself to a bankrupt idea--whether it's the odd notion that cutting taxes will save us from our economic crisis of liquidity, or the disproved theory that abstinence-only education will decrease teen pregnancies.

The sad fact is, fidelity to a Lost Cause valorizes you, it imitates honor. So the Republican Party isn't about greed or power or any base selfishness; rather, it's about nobly committing to something larger than itself--ending abortion, spreading democracy by force, saving Terri Schiavo, or, as of late, saving the GOP itself from knowledge of itself. Never mind that none of those commitments is remotely achievable, even the last.

The G.O. Pizza Party

Did you see that? It was beyond pathetic - it was dark comedy. There was Eric Cantor, Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush holding some kind of town meeting - at a pizza parlor. I guess they knew damned well that they would not be able to raise enough people to fill an auditorium. Mitt Romney was actually comparing the Democrats to the monarchists of old and the Republicans to the American revolutionaries of long ago. He said this as he was sitting next to a man who was the brother of one president and the son of the other. I guess his irony meter needs an adjustment .

When will people realize that the two major parties are really the same team? This site plays the Left against the Right...Which is JUST WHAT THE GLOBALIST/FASIST/FABIAN/COLLECTIVISTS want. PLEASE, for the sake of our children's Liberty and Freedom, acknowledge the TRUTH when it comes to the Bipartisan system. It is a ruse used to divide us! WE the People all want to be happy...WE the People all want Peace. When we awaken to the cruel fact that we have been tricked by Greedy Little "Gods" who just want to make a buck through War, Pestilence and Division, we will be better off. WE don't depend on the governments. The governments depends on US! They are OUR servants...Let us not forget that. They will use Fear, Dependence, and LIES (Obama: Troops home, Change we can believe in?)

For the record...the "dems" have been hyping this virus as much as the reps. They're all puppets. It's best to forget about them BOTH. Audit the Federal Reserve and see what we get...It's a wonder so few point out the relationship Wall Street and bankers(aka the military/industrial/pharma/big ag coalition) have with our "leaders". Our "Leaders are BOUGHT and BRIBED.

The Republicans have committed themselves to a number of indefensible things in the 21st century, ranging from chastity for teens, lies, rants and name-calling to even more serious things like electoral corruption, unconstitutional legislation, torture, illegal invasions and routine murder of civilians by terrible weaponry.

To admit to this would amount to psychological suicide. They have invested everything of personal value (their idea of their own self-worth) in the most unacceptable and anti-American conduct.

Like Rosemary West, they cannot afford to take stock of what they are responsible for.

Of course, many Democrats are in a similar bind. It may be a good thing that so many Americans have been apolitical. It is a good thing that Obama is readjusting the mood of the country to one of cautious optimism.

The right-wing brain
Posted by: Perry Logan on May 5, 2009 2:42 AM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
Science shows the right-wing brain doesn't work too good:

Exploring the neurobiology of politics, scientists have found that liberals tolerate ambiguity and conflict better than conservatives because of how their brains work.

In a simple experiment reported todayin the journal Nature Neuroscience, scientists at New York University and UCLA show that political orientation is related to differences in how the brain processes information....

Analyzing the data, Sulloway said liberals were 4.9 times as likely as conservatives to show activity in the brain circuits that deal with conflicts, and 2.2 times as likely to score in the top half of the distribution for accuracy.

Sulloway said the results could explain why President Bush demonstrated a single-minded commitment to the Iraq war and why some people perceived Sen. John F. Kerry, the liberal Massachusetts Democrat who opposed Bush in the 2004 presidential race, as a "flip-flopper" for changing his mind about the conflict.

Based on the results, he said, liberals could be expected to more readily accept new social, scientific or religious ideas.

"There is ample data from the history of science showing that social and political liberals indeed do tend to support major revolutions in science," said Sulloway, who has written about the history of science and has studied behavioral differences between conservatives and liberals.

I know the Left are quick to write the GOP obituary however I'm hear to warn you don't believe your own press just yet. I like coming down to the AlterNet because there is still a "True Left" that also don't like where this nation is still going and there is the "Sheeple Left" whom let the media drive them like cattle into the slaughterhouse of inside the Beltway dogma. Both Parties are fucking up however Democrats shit dont stink because we might get some free heathcare out of the deal. Where is your soul? Like you want the Government out your V-J-J, well I want the Government out of my way and out of my wallet and giving my cash away to big banksters and before you start going "butt but but Bush" whom is keeping the beat going on TARP? Oh yea that Congress has been around since 2006 oh yea I forgot, the DNC smells like roses. You think it is cool that we are basically going at it alone in Afghanistan? You Liberals hate NAFTA and that is not going away. Homes are still being foreclosed, E85 is a joke, the 2nd Amendment is under attack and oh yea President Obama is nea on Gay Marriage however Miss Cali get tougher questions.

The GOP an't about Mods, plus you Democrats hate your Mods (aka Blue Dogs) however most are too full of themselves of hate and elitism to see far past the bay bridge to realize, Nancy Pelosi or Wacky Waxman couldn't win a election in Upstate New York or Western North Carolina just to name a few places.

Yes the GOP fucked up royally because well we became Democrat Light (you call blue dogs), we became media driven, we became poll driven, we let ourselves be labeled by the MSn-13 at Nazi Child molester senile grandma rapers so even if you agree with anything I had to say, who wants to associate with a Child Molester?

p.s. I'm sick of the "party hacks" on both sides because that is just feeding into the battle royal. The Oligarchs want us distracted while they rape this nation. I will not be a slave, will you?

Hatred, Fear, Bigotry and Racism Usually Work

For many years politicians have appealed to hatred, fear, bigotry and racism. After enjoying the fruits of pandering to the baser instincts, does anyone expect them to alter their ways?
Does anyone expect the Americans to mend their ways? There was no transformation of the public mind. The right wing lost two wars and ruined the economy.
By 2012 they could well succeed blaming everything on Obama. This means FEMA concentration camps for Progressives who ignore torture.

If GOP is dead, opposition to massive centralized govt financed by debt is not. The Hamiltonian power grab by President Obama offends many Republicans and small govt Democrats, as well as independents. Handing trillions over to the corporate sector will not insure a long honeymoon for Mr. Obama and his big financier associates.

The Foundations of the GOP
Posted by: DrBrian on May 5, 2009 4:40 AM

Fear and hysteria are the foundations upon which the GOP empire was built: Fear of African-Americans, fear of street crime, fear of illegal drugs, fear of immigrants, fear of communists, fear of gays and lesbians, and fear of terrorists, later and irrationally to become fear of Muslims.

The mainstream media have done their part in all of this, too, whipping up hysteria and support for draconian, usually counterproductive policies.

It's just one big party
Posted by: 2thepoint on May 5, 2009 5:08 AM
Current rating: 1    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
Why would someone want to be part of ANY party is really the question.

We are no better of with Obama and actually far worse.. He has spent us into near bankruptcy, revived corrupt unions, taken care of his buddies on Wall Street, the unions and ACORN, taken over corporations and tried to screw investors out of billions and taken steps to ensure his dictatorship for 8 years, and generally moved us closer to socialism than Americans are comfortable with. - no wonder why he shook hands with Chavez, his mentor!

So, why would someone support the GOP, for the same reason the nearly defunct democratic party saw a resurgence - not for their policies which border on insanity, but for how the other party screwed up.

So after 8 years, America will have enough of the community organizer and want a real government. The grass will look greener on the GOP side, so they think, and the dems will be on the outside looking in.

History will always repeat itself!

Off shore Accounts proves Trickle Down was Feudalism-Economic Treason

Heres the proof that the Neocons intentionally re instated the Feudalistic cast system in the US committing Economic Treason).
Not only do they avoid explaining where the liquidity originates from (the sweat of the working class), they conveniently fail to mention how they have legitmized the upper echelons ability to siphon off as much as they want- thus reducing the flow of wealth and resources slotted for the Rest of US,to a Trickle.
Romney's deflection of who actually operates as a 'Monarchy' was SOOOOOOO Obvious. Prince Mitt, who not only held lordship over a financial stash of cash, but also a political title should avoid reminding people he's a bonifide Blue Blood himself.
Come on Repugs your tax cut mantra has proven a disaster to our infrastructure and safety, Your concerns over Deficits has been proven a lie. Your Trickle down economic the most blatant form of treason.Your hawkish foreign policy nothing more than a rallying cry for socio pathetic extemeist from all sides and your 'moral authority' akin to the Inquistion.
After seeing clips of that 'Listening Tour' where the three stooges did more talking than listening, proved once again the Repugs love the sound of their own voices and don't give a shit what the Real Bosses think. They are out selling their Snake oil once agian- Rebranded as new once again. Same Shit, Same Con game.
Repugs keep up their self serving myopic monologues, we may find a more efficient way to silence their vocal cords. Those billions that have been siphoned out of our economy to the Cayman islands 9et al) is proof enough Trickle Down was the means to undermine the US economy.
those who came hat in hand (citi,B of A) should also be prosecuted for Fraud, RICO and Economic treason- should have broken into those off shore Piggy bank accounts before conning US out of Trillions.
Feet should b eswinging and it's nto just the CEO's, but the traitors in our legislative bodies who made it all possible. Now we can't convict these people, because they made it all nice & legal. Hanging them low & slow!!!

George W. was Sub-Mediocre

Let's face it. The Republicans still have their noses up George W's rear end. Everyone else realizes that George W. Bush was a sub-mediocre president who brought the US to the verge of economic collapse, and whose foreign policy brought the contempt of the rest of the world. Lowering taxes on the super-rich was supposed to bring good times for all of us. Instead we have the worst economy since the thirties, and the super-rich are still getting those huge tax breaks. Bushonomics, Republican economics, have been a dismal failure.

That loser party was only kept afloat by the Christian evangelists' massive voting block. they were led to believe, proffered by ronnie raygun in his 1980 run, that this nation will subvert itself into a theocracy guided by their holy book, the bible. it's the main reason they had always voted republican since then.

And starting with dumbass junior Bush (who pretended to be president) and in cahoots with another hijacking interest group (the NeoCons), they were exploited to the GOP's maximum gain.

However, after the GOP had failed to convert this country into another Iran and after DICK cheney labled them as nutcases in an interview (the one and only sensible thing he said), that massive christian voting block withdrew their support, leaving the GOP to wither on the vine, and is still withering.

Those religious nutcases -- except for tax avoiders, racists, and die-hard conservatives -- pulled life support from the GOP. Most of the American people never took a shining to the Republican ideology. Those that did, did so, thru crass propaganda and lies. End of story.

There's a funny quirk in the human psyche. I remember reading up on it in Psych 101, but don't remember the names and dates. (maybe someone with a better memory can jog mine?)

It seems there was an apocalyptic church preaching that the world would end on a given day. The believers all came together on a mountaintop to watch, but it didn't happen.

And some of those people gave up their beliefs, but a majority of them became even more devout and settled on a different date for the End Of The World. (which didn't happen either, so far as I can tell)

Our state used to have heavy Democratic representation but thanks to corruption, bribery, and the tendancy of most of the party to go conservative and not progressive, the GOP has slowly risen and taken over. I see a similar trend in Washington where more Democrats are choosing to play the "centrist" card as an excuse for betraying the progressive base. Do not underestimate the Republicans. They may have lost but their ideology has not been discarded which means that they can easily recover. In 1993, the Democrats looked like they had a lock on everything but by 1994's end, they were in funeral mode almost. It's easy to laugh at the GOP but when the Democrats are doing the same thing the GOP would have done had they been in power, it's time to question the Democrats as well.

Hold the Celebrations. Look Ahead Instead.

Current rating: 4    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
I know it's fashionable among progressives to gloat over the apparent disintegration of the Republican Party into virtual incoherence. But I think many of them are missing the big picture.

The Republicans of the last 30 years were an unholy and strange alliance of social conservatives and Big Business interests. Make no mistake, the latter represents Corruption with a capital C. There is little trust or love between these two camps. Fear of "liberals" kept the social conservatives in line, but only grudgingly.

What has happened is that with the shift in national mood and the rejection of Republican politics, this alliance is coming apart. And nothing the Republicans can say seems to resonate on the national stage. They governed badly; the nation is tired of them.

Why is the alliance coming apart, though?

Because corruption goes to the power center. Business interests are shifting their lobbying focus and money to Democrats, many of whom are more than happy to take the money and do the bidding of corporations. That's the Washington Game.

On the Democratic side of the aisle, the result is lip service to progressivism, just as under Republican rule there was lip service to social conservatism. But actions speak loudly. True progressives can't have missed the fact that where business interests collide with ideology, business interests almost always win. They are now feeling what the social conservatives felt during the last 30 years - uneasy and used.

What's left of the Republicans is contracting to a core of social conservatism, hardening its ideology and its resolve (and its anger).

Republicanism of the last 30 years was a cynical thing, saying one thing and doing another, always serving business interests first, often nakedly. The danger is that they will become a true, pure, honest force of social conservatism with a message that actually appeals to the electorate.

Republicans are coalescing around a very angry social conservative core. They are refusing to flock to the banner of their most corrupt politicians, like Bobby Jindal or Mitt Romney. Social conservatives are no longer the junior partner in a business-oriented party. They *are* the party. The next Republican presidential candidate will be a social conservative like Huckabee, not a corporate hack like Romney or McCain who only mouths the right words on cue.

The irony is that as the Democrats wriggle in the mud of corruption and entanglement with corporate lobbyists (with the inevitable scandals that will emerge), Republican charges of Democrat fascism - which, according to Mussolini, is the merging of corporate and state power - might actually begin to resonate with the electorate. No matter that the Republicans just emerged from a period of rule characterized by exactly the same phenomenon. Ironically, the Republican Party that is about to take shape may be an honest party. And honesty is the one thing our electorate craves and can never get in Washington.

Don't count them out quite yet. If the social conservatives can get their act together and offer a party free of corruption, they might just win enough support from Americans to dominate national politics. And *that* result would be a nightmare for progressives worse than an ascendant but corrupt Republican party.

Think of creationism taught in every biology classroom, and shudder.

A minor point: You don't just see the Confederate "Stars 'n' Bars" in the South. In many rural areas in the Northeast, men drive around with Confederate license plates on their trucks and fly the flags proudly from their trailers tucked back in the woods.

They see no irony in flying and celebrating a regional battle flag that some of their ancestors gave their lives to defeat in the 1860s.

Why in the world would an under-employed father of two in Georgia think that the Republican platforms of lower taxes on upper level income, busting unions, lower education outcomes, Free Trade and continued removal of regulations on the finance community is to their benefit? This is the outcome of the Reagan Revolution. The players that we just experienced for 8 years being in charge are the same players that surrounded Nixon and took control during Reagan.

Deregulation brought us completely corporate news. One owner of all outlets in a community. So, that guy in Georgia is getting the same information from all sides. "Unions Bad", "Free Trade Good", "I love Jesus and America vote for me". If he was born after 1968 the realm of politics and the American Dream have matured in this corporate controlled news environment. He has not been given the opportunity to hear about the down-side for the workers in America of free trade. The job that was part of his birthright in manufacturing, textiles, finished clothing products and small retail outlets are gone. The products are still available in that big Wallmart store. The labels tell the story. Pakistan shorts, India shirts and Chinese or other asian sourced products.

Yep free trade. Manufactured prodcts without Unions, Healthcare, EPA or any other regulations. The corporations looked at the bottom line and figured they could get stuff made in China (remember Nixon opening up relationships so we could get "access to their market"? yea right) dump all this American quality of life overhead and the corporate bottomline soared. So the guy in Georgia doesn't know anything about how it worked before free trade.

His quality of life will never equal what the American lifestyle was that was supported through an organized work force and the protection of the goverment from product dumping by foriegn interests. Remember the term "Dumping" a thing of the past. Now it is free trade. If that Georgia citizen wants to be able to compete with the foriegn workers he will have to swallow his American dream and accept a 50 hour work week at world competing wages, no benefits or retirement.

Until them he will be feed a complete course of why it is most important that the Corporations continue to have free reign and free trade. The right-wing schock jocks arre entertainers that feed the disgruntled uneducated proletarian. And, yes he will cling to his guns and his need for Heaven and follow those that keep his ire up. It is much easier to accept the "enemies" that are presented than to learn about how well he has been hoodwinked. Nobody wants to feel that he's been used.

I agree with many that there is little difference in the two parties. The difference is much less than when there was a news media that had some independence. Until we stop the destruction of the American work force we will be stuck with "Live better - Shop Walmart"

Even Russ Feingold refused to give an upfront answer to Amy Goodman as to why single payer healthcare is dead in THIS Congress. Go ahead and rant about the GOP all you want but as far as I am concerned, both the GOP and the Democrats are guilty as seen and need to be swept out.

That of 14 year old sadistic bullies from Bush to Cheney to Rove to Rumsfield to Addington and Feith, et al and most of the bloody GOP Congress.

They never suffered in their lives but their whole raison d'ete seems to be to make everyone else in the world suffer. Now that is sadism of the highest order.

I'm a little less confident in the demise of the GOP than the author but his point is so well taken with the video clips as evidence.

"Dr. Strangelove." Yep, it's all been said before.

Why would anyone go back to the GOP? Hmmmm.... Because the Democrats are manifestly corrupt? Yes, yes, the GOP is even more corrupt, but that doesn't count when you are out of power. No matter how bad the GOP is, it still doesn't amount to a good reason to vote for a Democrat. The author apparently can't see what most Americans can see: corruption in the Democratic party. And that corruption is all the GOP, even more corrupted and by almost the same monied interests, needs to stage a massive comeback. Well, that and control of the majority of the MSM, and access to hundreds of billions of freshly (with DLC help) stolen loot from the treasury and Fed, and the endless, willfull gullibility of the fundamentalists. Oh, and the clueless, eyes-closed-tight, jingoist, overly optimistic cheerleading from the punditry over at the Nation.

What sort of psychological bent would lead people to want to be part of a dead-end political party like the GOP has become? Roughly the same psychological bent that would lead people to want to be part of a dead-end political party like the Democrats. Delusional thinking.

The problem here is Gen Ripper was probably right about "flouride", albeit carried to a "purity" extreme there. Purity of thought shouldn't confused with purity of the environment.

The Republican neo-cons (PNAC) and their Rightwing foreign allies (both of them) keep using the same tactics of false flag attacks because the mainstream media, and most of the MSM influenced alternative media, keep providing them with all the cover they need to get away with it. In 1993 it was the WTC with FBI provided explosives, but insufficient to topple the building and kill everybody. In 2001 they rigged WTC 1, 2, and 7 with enough thermate to get the job done very professionally, but after Fire Marshall Palmer reached the 78th floor and said they could knock the fire down with 2 lines they had to "pull it". Don't hold your breath too long for Team B's next effort, although the Pakistani "viet Cong" may provide them with all they need for the next War of Liberation.

To achieve purity, whether in a body politic or an individual body, you must be ever vigilant for contaminants. Corruption could come in the form of compromising on a stimulus package or saying something rude about Rush, or, this season, in the form of actual viruses. (Some GOPers conflated H1N1 with Specter by dubbing his defection as "The Swine Flew.")

That is, purity requires paranoia, and what better paranoid fantasy of (white) purity befouled (by darker races) is there than the Mexican Immigrant Swine Flu Bioterrorist plot? See, says hate radio's Michael Savage, the pandemic's source isn't pigs but Islamofacist terrorists who may have "concocted this virus and planted it in Mexico," knowing full well that Mexican immigrants are the "perfect mules for bringing this virus into America."

I totally agree about the Republicans.

But your excellent comments also remind me about the LEFT wing nutcases who oppose flouridation, insist on a 9/11 conspiracy, demand impeachment of Bush even when he's not the President, were TOTALLY convinced that the Repubs would not allow Obama to be elected, that Bush would declare martial law, and/or that Obama would be killed...

For them, the glass is ALWAYS half empty, and no matter how much progressive change takes place, there is always gloom and doom

In the many happy hours I spend cruising townhall.com I have observed that conservatives often use reductio ad absurdam and then react to their bizarre fantasy as if it were present reality. Thus, Obama will suspend presidential term limits and declare himself President for Life; Obama will establish gulags for the elderly where medical care will be withheld; Obama will force students into a service corps modeled on the Hitler Youth (he, of course, playing the part of Hitler). Trust me, there is NOTHING they won't believe and egg each other on to believe.

THE LATEST?? on the DEMS propaganda?? they had michael moore make a movie claiming that CUBA'S healthcare system is 'better' than USA system and that USA should seek the CUBAN MODEL...

what they are HIDING??? IN CUBA public has to BEG from TOURISTS for allergy/astham inhalers and aspirin.

the new stimulus says USA SPENDS more MONEY on a MORE EXPENSIVE HEALTHCARE and the PUBLIC gets NO HEALTHCARE. LONG AND SHORT OF IT.

did you know an UNTREATED EAR INFECTION will cause permanent handicapping in child/adults. Only children it's QUICKER because children have little to no immune system when born that's science not opinion.

did you know that UNTREADED allergys/asthma results in UNEXPLAINED DEATHS and permanent handicapping as well??

well, YOU can bet the DEMS know and STILL WERE willing to create an UNCONSTITUTIONAL BAILOUT & WERE WILLING TO PASS unconstitutional stimulus without even reading it & ARE willing to SHAFT THE PUBLIC by DC SLUGS dragging their feet on kicking out the stimulus and bailout.

why?? BECAUSE dems know the longer they drag feet
1. the higher taxes must go in order to offset the expense and this will overload the middle class sector while they gravy train poor/large bus on PUBLIC FUNDS
2. the quicker the USA PUBLIC is bankrupted and the SOCIALIST STIMULUS says GOV can deprive PUBLIC of medicines if PUBLIC don't vote the WAY GOV SAYS.

3. geightners bailout?? it's creating a re-inflation bubble that in 7 YEARS that will burst harder than the one we just had. why is this relavent??? ONE YEAR LATER the bill for the BAILOUT becomes DUE AND PAYABLE by public and if public doesn't have the money... we will be owned by foreigners whom subscribe to sharia law.

WHEN you are left with a death or permanently handicapped loved one as a result of being DEPRIVED MEDICINE FROM THIS NEW STIMULUS isn't the TIME to go seeking to do something about it.

DEMS have been ignoring the public while DEMS ACT as they please feeling they are ABOVE THE LAW and can act without impunity while the PUBLIC is deemed to only be able to ACT UPON PERMISSION BEING GRANTED TO DO SO....

Thomas Jefferson pretty well covered much about our situation today in two quotes made by him over 200 years ago. Our founders fathers feared what we are living today:

1. “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”

2. “I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”*

seek legislative and LEGAL action to get stimulus and bailout kicked out

DEMS HIDING HIDDEN COSTS OF SOC HEALTHCARE THAT MAKE IT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN PRESENT SYSTEM-PART A

Current rating: 1    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
IN SCOTLAND-462,000 PEOPLE DIED AS A RESULT OF HEALTHCARE FAILINGS

ENGLAND---the NATIONAL HEALTHCARE JUST UP AND DECIDED TO HALT KNEE AND HIP REPLACEMENTS FOR OVERWEIGHT PEOPLE.

in SOUTH AFRICA- PATIENTS DIED after his life saving surgery was RE-CLASSIFIED as 'elective' and CANCELED seven YES THAT'S RIGHT SEVEN times until it was simply to late.

in AUSTRALIA man has been on a 90 day waiting PERIOD---for over 2 years.

in Canada -cancer patients have been DENIED life saving medicines that are standard treatment in USA and covered by USA INSURANCE.

ENGLAND AGAIN---- Alheimer's patients denied $5 a day drug that provides crucial relief because it's considered TOO EXPENSIVE.

CUBA---they are FORCED to BEG tourists for common medicines like allergy and asthma inhalers and even aspirin.

EVERYWHERE SOCIALIZED MEDICINE HAS BEEN TRIED IT HAS FAILED.

The DEMS BRAND of getting around using the term SOCIALIZED MEDICINE is to dress up their BIG GOVERNMENT schemes to bamboozle public by calling it UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE OR HEALTH CARE FOR ALL to 'diguise' the fact it should be labeled as HEALTHCARE FOR NONE so the BIG GOV can pocket the funds.

NO matter how these DEMS CALL soc med it always has the same RESULTS---RATIONED HEALTHCARE, DENIAL OF ESSENTIAL MEDICAL SERVICE, WAITING LISTS, MEDIOCRE MEDICINE, AND UNNECESSARY SUFFERING AND DEATH. and for whaaat?? so gov can pocket the funds. always the bottom line.

MEANWHILE WASH DC SLUGS end up with final say over your most intimate medical decisions NOT YOU AND NOT YOUR DOCTOR

Here we have the DEMS always needing a bigger shovel for the level of UTOPIAN propaganda they want to throw at the UNSUSPECTING PUBLIC.

wanna? know the latest??? Michael moore made a progpaganda film where they attempt to bamboozle the PUBLIC by claiming CUBA'S healthcare is better than the USA ....and that the USA should go to the CUBAN model for healthcare.

WANNA KNOW??? what the reality is and whaaat they are really HIDING... the reality is in CUBA people have to BEG FROM TOURISTS for allergy inhalers and aspirin. You can bet if Americans are allowed to be bamboozled into Socialist healthcare DEMS will make SURE USA is WORSE OFF than CUBA.

According to the new stimulus if your child needs antibiotics and the GOV only wants to give them Asprin or NOTHING guess whaaat they will get ASPIRIN or nothing. Soc healthcare is MORE expensive AND gives NO HEALTHCARE. We are no scholar, but you don't need to be a scholar to SEE whaaat is wrong with the DEMS scenario.

PEOPLE OUR MARKET BASED HEALTHCARE SYSTEM IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD. Why, sure it's not perfect. BUT THE SHORTCOMINGS it faces such as high cost of drugs and insurance---are in part THE results of the inroads the SOCIALISTS AND LIBERALS have already made into our market based health care system.

THE REAL SOLUTION TO fixing HEALTHCARE ISN'T to make UNCLE SAME/DEMS your doctor ....BUT to GIVE YOU THE PUBLIC MORE CHOICE.

ALLOWING the DEMS socialize healthcare not only would prove expensive but DEADLY. Think about it?? DEMS WANT TO SPEND MORE MONEY BUT DENY PUBLIC the meds and services it needs while GOV POCKETS THE CASH TO SPEND ON PORK.

TAKE A LOOK .. 50% OF BRITISH AND NEW ZEALANDS WOMEN diagnosed with breast cancer DIE. however, HERE IN USA only 1/5th breast cancer sufferers DIE FROM IT. did you know hair dye are directly linked to breast cancer??

25 % CANADIA men and 50% of british men diagnosed with prostrate cancer die from it. HERE, IN USA less than 1/5th men die from it.

BRITISH-ER'S with serious illnesses are 7 times more likely to die from them than AMERICANS with such conditions.
BRITISH-ERS are also 4 times MORE likely to DIE during major surgery than Americans.

IN most countries if you are OVER A CERTAIN AGE like 75 they will let you die.

this is what awaits America if public doesn't do what it takes NOW to seek LEGAL ACTION to kick out SOC healthcare stimulus AND BAILOUT.

HERE'S WHAT DEMS DON'T WANT PUBLIC TO KNOW ABOUT SOC HEALTHCARE...
Posted by: SassyFrassy on May 8, 2009 8:18 PM
Current rating: 1    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
how many people don't know that an EAR INFECTON LEFT UNTREATED will result in PERMANENT PHYSICAL handicapping of your child/person. THIS IS SCIENCE PEOPLE NOT opinion NOT fear-mongering.

How many people DON'T know THAT allergies and asthma LEFT untreated will result in PERMANENT HANDICAPPING and/or death and even more so in children? this is science NOT fear-mongering NOT hallucinatory...

YOU CAN bet the DEMS knew and are still willing to sell down the river the PUBLIC BY insisting on dragging it's feet on kicking out the soc healthcare and bailout.

HOW MANY people don't know that the longer the DEMS drag their feet on KICKING out the bailout the HIGHER TAXES will have to go to offset the spending spree these WASH DC SLUGS are on.

Geightners so-called fix?? it's creating a re-inflation bubble scheduled to burst worse than the one we are in and it will occur in 7 years.

why is that relevant??? in 2018 the bill for the bailout becomes due and payable and if the USA CANNOT PAY?? we will be owned by foreigners whom subscribe to sharia law.
To the present it's only one of the 1 % group of people attempting to destroy our Nation's economic systems.

WHY??? It was said to a WASH DC VIP---that the reason the Socialists think they will win this time and are doing this is because ACLU and their DEMS SLUGS -- they don't think American's are " smart enough" to care to let their fingers do the walking to protect their lands, their CONSTITUTION or their freedoms. The DEMS and ACLU don't think the 99% of American's will be 'smart enough" to CARE about their country, their homes, their small business enough to kick the WASH DC SLUGS out and send them packing by way of Balagovich for NOT doing what is right to protect PUBLIC freedoms and the free enterprise system (ie meaning small business/med business) and rights.

Therefore, they want to make sure they take all freedoms away from the public and they want to make it impossible for FREE ENTERPRISE to exist for the small business and mid business and sole proprietorship thru gravytraining BIG BUSINESS bankrupting our Nation and MUSCLING OUT the small/med sole proprietorships, and creating a welfare state. A move straight out of the marxist handbook. and by attempting to eradicate free speech.

Then, we will be SOCIALIST/GLOBALIST/MARX/FACIST/COMM COUNTRY and the marketplace will be MONOPOLIZED AND DOMINATED by the ENGORGED 1 or 2 or several big businesses in sector. Gone will be the hope for any American whom would wish to start a business and earn profit to live on

Seek legislative and LEGAL agencies to DISMANTLE the bailout and kick out the SOCIALIST stimulus.

THE DEMS HOPE THE PUBLIC ISN'T AWARE TILL it's too late that this is only a tiny bit of the NIGHTMARE that awaits the public in the SOC HEALTHCARE AND STIMULUS AND BAILOUT

* $3.8 million for Old Tiger Stadium Conservancy AT Detroit;
* $1.9 million for Pleasure Beach water taxi service AT Connecticut;
* $1.8 million PIG odor and manure management research AT Ames, Iowa;
* $380,000 for a recreation and fairgrounds in Kotzebue, Alaska;
* $143,000 for the Greater New Haven Labor History Association AT Connecticut;
* $95,000 for Canton Symphony Orchestra Association AT Ohio; and
* $71,000 for Dance Theater Etcetera AT Brooklyn for their Tolerance through Arts initiative.

*250 million for NEW FURNITURE at homeland security (which homeland security probably doesn't need and doesn't want BUT is stuck with until the USA PUBLIC realizes PUBLIC must force WASH DC SLUGS to stop bailout and stimulus line by line)
MILLIONS for abortions in FOREIGN countries which the USA has no business subsidizing

* MILLIONS for a new water PARK. Even though DISNEY is shutting down some of their places because of RECESSION. however STIMULUS WANTS to throw money down drain for NEW PARK SOMEPLACE ELSE.

* HERE DEMS voted DEMS a cola of 550.22 per month WHILE deciding the PUBLIC can LIVE on 63.00 per month and HIGHER TAXES.

want to know what the ACLU thinks how 'STUPID' they view Americans. Here is what one of the Founders of the ACLU says Americans will never "knowingly" accept Socialism, but DISGUISED under "liberalism" Americans will accept every fragment; and one day wake up in a Socialist Nation and "wonder" how it all happened to them.

don't believe it? here's the quote Norman THOMAS one of the Founders of the ACLU says QUOTE Americans will never "knowingly" accept Socialism, but under "liberalism" Americans will accept every fragment; and one day wake up in a Socialist Nation and "wonder" how it all happened.
What we need to investigate is how the DEMOCRATS and ACLU think that they can continue to count on Americans being as stupid as the ACLU thinks Americans are. So they can further their Soc/glob/marx/fac/comm agenda.

it is important to SEEK legislative and LEGAL means to kick out STIMULUS and BAILOUT. the momentary re-bound in market is a TEMPORARY re-inflation bubble that GEIGHTNER AND DEMS have created and WHEN it bursts it will be WORSE than the FIRST.

On another NOTE. To the present it's only one of the 1 % group of people attempting to destroy our Nation's economic systems.

Fear and hysteria are the foundations upon which the GOP empire was built: Fear of African-Americans, fear of street crime, fear of illegal drugs, fear of immigrants, fear of communists, fear of gays and lesbians, and fear of terrorists, later and irrationally to become fear of Muslims.

The mainstream media have done their part in all of this, too, whipping up hysteria and support for draconian, usually counterproductive policies.

It's just one big party

Think from a Longer view

Repeated tactics for same evil+

Don't hold your breath too long for Team B's next effort, although the Pakistani "viet Cong" may provide them with all they need for the next War of Liberation.

don't forget the left wing nutcases

But They Do Believe It

In the many happy hours I spend cruising townhall.com I have observed that conservatives often use reductio ad absurdam and then react to their bizarre fantasy as if it were present reality. Thus, Obama will suspend presidential term limits and declare himself President for Life; Obama will establish gulags for the elderly where medical care will be withheld; Obama will force students into a service corps modeled on the Hitler Youth (he, of course, playing the part of Hitler). Trust me, there is NOTHING they won't believe and egg each other on to believe.

'GOP Has Hit the Dead-End of Politics: Who's Going to Buy Their Fear and Hysteria?'

This example of phony liberal 'positive thinking' is so off the wall and dead wrong in its conclusion that it makes me gasp! The Nation is one magazine full of really dopey people doped up on really dopey dope! They must not live in the nation I'm living in? ,,, because they sure missed the mark on this one.

DEMS & UTOPIA'S ..THE ART OF SELECTIVE BLINDSIGHTEDNESS

DEMS HIDING HIDDEN COSTS OF HEALTHCARE THAT MAKE IT MORE EXPENSEIVE THAN OUR PRESENT SYSTEM--PART B

Seek legislative and LEGAL agencies to DISMANTLE the bailout and kick out the SOCIALIST stimulus.

see American center for law and justice

DEMS....PIED PIPERS OF BAD DREAMS....

THE DEMS HOPE THE PUBLIC ISN'T AWARE TILL it's too late that this is only a tiny bit of the NIGHTMARE that awaits the public in the SOC HEALTHCARE AND STIMULUS AND BAILOUT

* $3.8 million for Old Tiger Stadium Conservancy AT Detroit;
* $1.9 million for Pleasure Beach water taxi service AT Connecticut;
* $1.8 million PIG odor and manure management research AT Ames, Iowa;
* $380,000 for a recreation and fairgrounds in Kotzebue, Alaska;
* $143,000 for the Greater New Haven Labor History Association AT Connecticut;

WHY? It was said to a WASH DC VIP-that the reason the Socialists think they will win this time and are doing this is because ACLU and their DEMS SLUGS - they don't think American's are " smart enough" to care to let their fingers do the walking to protect their lands, their CONSTITUTION or their freedoms.
