Janeane Garofalo does not think your should shave your pubic hair, and she is distressed that 80 percent of women under the age of 35 are actively pursuing hairlessness on their, as she calls it, "maidenhead." And make no mistake it is a very active pursuit.

In a recent standup routine, Garofalo took on this burning issue, to urge women everywhere to be "hirsute." She used words like "maidenhead" and "hirsute" because she is trying to give the topic the dignity it deserves, the dignity of, say, a "Bronte novel."

"It is pandering, I'm very sorry. But it is," she says. "Much like heels and a thong."

The crux of her argument is, "You need it. It's like eyebrows, but different. If you didn't have eyebrows, you'd have conjunctivitis 24/7, 365 days a year. Extrapolate from there."

She has more funny lines, and a word to the wise to men who are attracted to "pre-adolescent female areas."

Funny. Watch:
