Palin: 'I Don't Know' If Abortion Clinic Bombers Are Terrorists

By Jed L, Daily Kos. Posted October 25, 2008.

Palin gives a wink and a nod to right-wing extremists, with whom she shares radical views about the reproductive rights of women.

The buffoonish nature of Sarah Palin's vice presidential candidacy has mostly been a disaster for the McCain-Palin campaign, but it is has delivered at least one benefit: her foibles have helped obscure the true nature of her right-wing extremism.

But now, Sarah Palin's self-destructive behavior is threatening to expose even that. In an interview broadcast yesterday on NBC Nightly News, Brian Williams asked Palin whether she felt abortion clinic bombers were terrorists.

Amazingly, she said that she didn't know. MSNBC reports (emphasis added):

Palin resisted the suggestion that if Ayers was a "domestic terrorist"  -- a standard line in her campaign addresses -- then so were conservative religious activists who bombed abortion clinics.

"I don't know if you're going to use the word 'terrorist' there," she said.

Here's the video:

Palin's answer is perhaps the single most incredible thing I've heard from any candidate during this entire general election campaign, and I don't make that statement lightly.

What makes it so incredible is that Sarah Palin was responding to one of the easiest questions that has been posed during this entire campaign. Her answer should have been simple: of course they are terrorists.

Instead, Palin balked, saying that while bombings were unacceptable, she didn't know if they were acts of terrorism. As Meteor Blades put it, Palin's answer was an obvious wink and a nod to right wing extremists, with whom she shares radical views, including opposition to reproductive freedom even in cases of rape or incest and advovacy of protests designed to disrupt access to abortion clinics.

This was not a question to which "I don't know" was an acceptable answer. There is no excuse for it, and it puts Sarah Palin well on the margins of this nation's political spectrum.

Palin & McCain are caught in a dilemna. If they acknowledge Eric Rudolph is a terrorist, it follows that those backwoods North Carolinians who hid Rudolph were "Pallin' around with a terrorist" The problem is, however, that the presidential race in North Carolina is too close for the GOP to alienate those rednecks.

I am glad we finally get to talk about terrorism. That is what I want to talk about, I want to talk about the terrorism our government engages in. I have some examples.

First, good news.

Washington, DC - Media Matters for America today applauds the inclusion of language in the 2009 Defense Authorization Bill responding to criticism of the clandestine relationship among media military analysts, the Pentagon, and the defense industries. The bill was sent on Monday to President Bush, who has not yet taken action.

The bill includes the following provisions:

Requires the Department of Defense Inspector General to investigate the media analysts program and report the findings back to Congress 90 days after the bill is enacted.

Directs the Comptroller General of the GAO to issue a legal opinion to Congress on whether the media analysts program violated the law within 120 days of enactment.

Since the report was released in April, there has been little if any response from the major broadcast and cable news networks whose analysts were implicated in the reports.

This week, news reports stated that the Federal Communications Commission is notifying several media military analysts that it has begun an inquiry into complaints that the pundits did not properly disclose their ties to the Pentagon while on air.

Right, it was a war of propaganda from the start, a criminal conspiracy supervised by...

Billo was yucking it up on the view the other day trying to soften his mass murderer image with the ladies. Since he has basically been calling for my murder (a US citizen), I consider him and a lot of his colleges to be quite guilty of some very serious crimes, even terrorism. He is not going to get away with it. His delusions are starting to break down.

So in light of his complicity in vast unsolved crimes, I will post the victims bill of rights.

Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights

A Crime Victim Has The Following Rights Under 42 U.S.C. Section 10606(b):

1. The right to be treated with fairness and with respect for the victim’s dignity and privacy.
2. The right to be reasonably protected from the accused offender.
3. The right to be notified of court proceedings.
4. The right to be present at all public court proceedings related to the offense, unless the court determines that testimony by the victim would be materially affected if the victim heard other testimony at trial.
5. The right to confer with an attorney for the Government in the case.
6. The right to restitution.
7. The right to information about the conviction, sentencing, imprisonment, and release of the offender.

Oh look, once again, 6 is my number. I'm going for seven too. Since my offenders are all considering themselves to be exempt from the law, this should be interesting. Who wants to bet I just get discriminated against again? After all it is a conspiricy, just ask the paper. They will tell you, there is no conspiricy. LOL!

Liars!

Sarah Palin is a dangerous extremist. Putting her "a seventy-two-year-old heartbeat away from the Oval Office would be an even worse electoral mistake than sending George W. Bush there eight years ago. I didn't think that was possible!

She is ill-informed, unenlightened - and I cannot emphasize this enough - dangerous....

....She's cute and perky as heck though!

Basically it's another set up question.. Someone should ask Obama if Bill Ayers is a terrorists and if so should he still be allowed to teach our children. Since Obama has said he'd go after terrorists someone should ask him if he's seek to put Ayers back in jail?

Someone should, but, they wont..No one ever asks him question that mike make him look foolish - that would be racist.. It's better in this country to appear sexist than racist!

Palin's answer is essentially correct as there is no official definition of terrorism.

Would you call those blacks that rioted and burned down their neighborhood after the OJ trial in the 90's terrorists?

I never did hear Palin say she agreed with those act - seems someone missed that small point!

Webster says a traitor is someone who "betrays his country, cause or friends."

Because John McCain's "friends" -- the American people -- deserved the BEST qualified choice for a GOP vice presidential candidate, not a dimwitted, cheerleading hockey mom beauty queen with no foreign affairs experience, the crooked-talking Arizona senator proved what many war veterans think about him, including yours truly. Benedict Arnold McCain is a traitor who betrayed his country in 2008 just like he did 40 years ago in North Vietnam.

EXACTLY WHY THE TERM "PRO-LIFE" NEEDS A REDEFINITION

It will never happen but I have been trying to redefine the term "pro-life" for decades

The Palin remark is one of thousands that I have read over the years that convinces me that the term "pro-life" has been unjustly co-opted by the extreme religious right who in large part are single issue unrepentant hypocrites at best.

If you really want to embrace a pro-life movement google the term "biophilia"= love of all life

If brains were dynamite, she wouldn't have enough to blow her nose.

Has anyone noticed the embarrassed looks that come across McShame's face when they do a joint interview? When he's not looking shamed, he's giving off a look that says, "If I lose this election, it's going to be entirely YOUR fault." What does it say about a guy's judgment he should pick such a twit as a running mate?

One thing that baffles me is the neo-con Republican preference for candidates who are dumbed-down. When there's noone else available, they'll make a choice between the McCains, Huckabees, and Romneys of the world, but give them a Bush or a Palin and they get really excited.

They don't seem to care much whether a neo-con buffoon is a good or bad President, so long as he or she is a neo-con, willing to bomb the living daylights out of anyone with a different viewpoint. If a candidate is folksy, simple, and has the necessary anti-choice, anti-science, anti-tax, anti-immigrant, and pro-bombing credentials, these guys are willing to do anything to get him/her elected.

Let's say a group of guys comes into your neighbourhood and in the process, your house is ransacked and then destroyed and your children are, oh let's say, maimed and your wife is drug off into the bedroom and raped and when it is all over, you and your family are all shot and guns are placed into the rooms to validate the slaughter... is that terrorism?

It is happening in Iraq.

Who are the terrorists and who are the freedom fighters?

If we were doing such a bang-up job in Iraq - I can guarantee you that the sitting govt would absolutely support the USs continued presence. But, you see, there are two things (probably more) going on - one the above mentioned example and two the Iraqi govt is required to contract with the US and our allies to ship the O.I.L. (Operation Iraqi Liberation) that is produced to the US and British first! before any other contracts are offered. Hmmm... We need troops there because....??

A domestic terrorist is someone that the ruling party disagrees with or you do not agree with their tactics to bring about change.
Robo Calling could be considered terrorism - because it is an invasion of my peace of mind by stressing fear and doubt instead of supplying me with factual material with which to make a choice.

Are people who bomb other people (pretty generic there) terrorists?

Simple answer:

Yes.

Complicated answer:

Yes.

Except for comedians - when they bomb, they only have themselves to blame.

Cheers.

While the goal may be admirable, this particular incentive you've proposed will just cause more women to get knocked up because they know they can then hold the rest of us over a barrel for the thousand bucks.

A woman could probably make a half-way decent living doing this, especially if all fertile women got together to form a union which threatened to hold out unless the amount was raised, to, say, $10,000 -- because, after all, that would still represent a huge saving to us the taxpayer over the alternative.

And so it would go. Men would eventually want their share of the payola, offering not to impregnate fertile women in exchange for suitable compensation, especially seeing as how many are currently doing that for free anyway.

Not to mention that all those men having to pay child support would want off the hook on the grounds that the woman could have not gotten pregnant in the first place if they'd taken the $1000, so why can't they buy out of the system for the same amount.

In other words, I think you need to go back to the drawing board and re-think this a lot.

Get pregnant and have an abortion!

You know that there are plenty of people who would become serial aborters, college students who want to finance their spring break trips, etc.

The goal is to reduce pregnancies, not increase abortions, right?

Mac slipped (again) when he was discussing at the 2nd Debate about How America has come to the aid of foreign nations/people. Apparently Mac has a soft spot still for his Anti Communist party's Proteges.
So When Mac calims he'll Follow Bin Laden to the 'Gates of hell' I wonder Why would any one name their Palm Island Hell? True it is Bin laden- so quite appropo! Remember to take you Shoes off at the Gate, Mac. Only re-enforcing the concept that Mac 'Knows how to get Bin Laden'...what a Drink? And lets not even get started on Mac's affiliations with Economic Terrorists like PhilGramm. AQ may have brought down 2 towers, and murdered 3000+, But Phil Gramm et al have brought down the "House" and destroyed Millions of Lives, and as a bonus Our nations Economic future- far more effective at bringing US to our Knees then even Binny could have imagined!

'I Don't Know' If Abortion Clinic Bombers Are Terrorists
Posted by: xvictor on Oct 25, 2008 5:51 AM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
If going by history, atrocious acts of slaughter by one side was deemed righteous because "God is on our side". So Palin could've answered 'no' to the question and follow that up with the reason that "God is our side". God is not a terrorist, they say. So if the abortion bomber kills people as a result of his act, he's merely doing God's work, not the work of a terrorist. God is above terrorism! God is our side!

Of course, those who had allegedly planned and executed the 911 debacle could make the claim that their acts are righteous because "God is our side". And so many folks would believe that.

Anyhow, see how simple that response is? Surely much better than a "I don't know" reply that Palin had sheepishly uttered. And the sad part about that reasoning: there will be so many suckers gullible enough to swallow that explanation whole.

SHE IS NOT QUALIFIED, NO WAY NOT IN THE MICROSCOPIC STRETCH OF ANYONE'S IMAGINATION OR DREAM. She can not answer ONE SIMPLE QUESTION, SHE Gets STUMPED on major core issues every time she is interviewed and not scripted or rehearsed. When you see the real Six Pack Palin, you see a woman who got voted into office as a governor as she would in a POPULARITY CONTEST!! She had staff to help run a town the size of any high school. I had a graduating class of 3900 students and I think the entire POPULATION of Wasillia is what 7000! WAKE THE FREAK UP!!! Republicans left and right are jumping off of McCains sinking ship because of Sarah Palin, and those that are not jumping ship, are THROWING MCCAIN UNDER THE BUS, every chance they get. He doesn't trust anyone in his own camp and well he shouldn't at this Late Date!

This woman is stupid, uneducated, she uses words that do not exist in any English dictionary adding her own made-up suffixes, and endings to much of what she babbles on about and what is really irritating is that she talks around in circles. I am just amazed that NO ONE asks or better yet investigates her about Troopergate, FASHIONGATE, and her husbands ties to the extremist anti-American Alaska Independence Party they both had direct ties to. This woman is an Extremist and a total nut case!!!! She still has a strong mistaken belief as to what the exact roles of a Vice President, and with McCain's OLD< OLD AGE which is clearly showing in this election race on all levels, she could wind up being President and Commander in Chief, and at a time when our nation is in an Armageddon Size Economic Collapse, SHE IS UNTHINKABLE, SHE IS WRONG! Interesting how McCain seems reluctant to let Sarah Palin conduct a solo interview when speaking to the media [notable and rare exceptions: Fox, Rush, etc]. He's a bit of a chaperone.

Sarah Palin's flavor of Christianity is heavy on the Old Testament, while ignoring the underlying tenets of the New: care for the poor, the sick, the weak, etc.

Consider that Sarah Palin is potentially one skin cell away from the Presidency. Think carefully and vote accordingly.

the Bible supports abortion rights

Genesis 38:24. Tamar's pregnancy was discovered three months after conception, presumably because it was visible at the time. This was positive proof that she was sexually active. Because she was a widow, without a husband, she was assumed to be a prostitute. Her father-in-law, Judah, ordered that she be burned alive for her crime. If Tamar's fetuses had been considered to have any value whatsoever, her execution would have been delayed until after their birth. There was no condemnation on Judah for deciding to take this action.

Exodus 21:22-24. If two men are fighting and one injures a pregnant woman and the fetus is killed, he shall repay her according to the degree of injury inflicted upon her, and not the fetus.

Author Brian McKinley, a born-again Christian, sums up the passage as:

"Thus we can see that if the baby is lost, it does not require a death sentence-it is not considered murder. But if the woman is lost, it is considered murder and is punished by death."

Halacha (Jewish Law) does define when a fetus becomes a nephesh (person), a full-fledged human being, when the head emerges from the womb. Before then, the fetus is considered a "partial-life". The fetus has great value because it is potentially a human life, it gains full human status after birth only.

Abortions are not permitted on the grounds of genetic imperfections of the fetus. Abortions are permitted to save the mother's life or health. With the exception of some Orthodox authorities, Judaism supports abortion access for women. Each case must be decided individually by a rabbi well-versed in Jewish law.

The Babylonian Talmud (Yevamot 69b) states that: "the embryo is considered to be mere water until the fortieth day." Afterwards, it is considered subhuman until it is born. Rashi, the great 12th century commentator on the Bible and the Talmud, states clearly of the fetus 'lav nephesh hu--it is not a person.' The Talmud contains the expression, "the thigh of its mother," i.e., the fetus is deemed to be part and parcel of the pregnant woman's body.

This is grounded in Exodus 21:22. That biblical passage outlines the Mosaic Law in a case where a man is responsible for causing a woman's miscarriage, which kills the fetus. If the woman survives, then the perpetrator has to pay a fine to the woman's husband. If the woman is killed, the perpetrator is also killed. This indicates that the fetus has value, but does not have the status of a person.

There are two additional passages in the Talmud which shed some light on abortion. They imply that the fetus is considered part of its mother: One section states that if a man purchases a cow that is found to be pregnant, then he is owner of both the cow and the fetus. Another section states that if a pregnant woman converts to Judaism, that her conversion also applies to her fetus.

Some Jewish authorities have ruled in specific cases. one case involved a woman who becomes pregnant while nursing a child. Her milk supply would dry up. If the child is allergic to all other forms of nutrition except mother's milk, then it would starve. An abortion would be permitted in this case, a potential person, would be justified to save the life of the child, an actual person.

Conservative, Reconstructionist and Reform Judaism are formally opposed to government regulation of abortion. They feel that the decision should rest with the woman, her husband, her doctor and her clergyperson. Some Orthodox authorities agree with this stance. Polls have found up to 90% of American Jews supporting abortion rights.

The New Testament is more permissive than the Old. Paul claims Jesus told him three times, "my grace is sufficient for thee" (II Corinthians 12:8-9), and Christians misinterpret this verse to mean they're free to do as they please--ignoring Jesus' and Paul's other teachings.

I can't even count how many conversations I had with conservative aquaintances and friends, where I have introduced the idea that our country has produced homegrown terrorists in the form of abortion clinic bombers. In 99% of these exchanges, my statement has been met with stunned silence, and usually a follow-up similar to Palin's along the lines of, "well, that's different".

My sampling may be skewed, if perhaps I happen to just be moving in particulary conservative pockets of society.

It is a response I've heard often, and yes, it is depressing and in my view not logical.

No matter how much palin is candy coated, her essential EVIL pokes through. She can't even bring herself to comedmn an anti-abortion nut who bombs a clinic, regardless of the consequences. At least she's a (semi) honest evil witch, but is she fit for the high office to which she aspires? Not a chance.

There's something very f_ked up when a woman can get up there and publicly say that bombing (maiming, killing, dismembering) women who's only crime is visiting a doctor is not terrorism. Not everyone at a obgyn clinic is there for an abortion.. some people go for natal checkups and other wellness exams. I'm sorry Mrs. Palin but if you cant recognize a square peg when you see one, your IQ is probably on par with your youngest's.

The clip was little short. did Mccain and williams have a response to Palin's claim? Mccain voted against Violence Against Women Act--doesn't this make him a collaborator with right wing abortion clinic terrorists? She seems to say Ayers attacking Pentagon is definitely terrorism but she is not sure about abortion clinics. A follow up question: what about attacks at churches or synagogues by radical leftist secularists? terrorism yes or no? would a muslim attacking a synagog be terrorism? several weeks ago there was an alternet article about an assault at an Islamic Center in Dayton. The police did not treat it as a hate crime because attack was not accompanied with derogatory words but the author of article and most alternet readers thought it clearly qualified. What distinguishes an ordinary assault or murder from a hate crime or terrorism? I tend to see attacks at abortion clinics or religious locations as hate crime and/or terrorism but I am not the moral relativists that justify war which kill hundreds and thousands of innocents. if McCain Palin team is elected, will Republican moral relativism return with prosecution of hate crimes against churches but tolerance of hate crimes against abortion clinics as was the case in 1980s under Reagan?.

Joe the American Disabled Veteran takes a bite out of Palin

Hi folks Doyle Wheeler here, or Joe if you prefer. No McCain never answed a single question, nor do I believe he ever will.

Now lets talk about this very dangerous right wing nut job he selected as his running mate! Sarah Palin is so far to the right she makes the KKK and American Nazi Party look like left wing liberals. Eric Randolf is a hero of her and Todd's.

He only murdered a policeman, killed people at the Olympics and killed people at a gay night club. Which makes him a poster boy for the Palins!

Mark my words if she ever becomes President upon the death of McCain which I think she is capable of arranging, one of her first acts will be to give Randolf a Presidental Pardon.

She has refused to call someone that blows up a bomb outside of an Atlanta Abortion Clinic killing a Policeman an maming a nurse a terrorist.

Folks that is because she runs around with the same type of people and her husband is a member of the Independance party which is on record supporting the bombing of abortion clinics and the shooting of abortion doctors!

Sarah is a wacko and is a very real danger to this country.

Hocky mom my behind, $150,000 for clothing and she still is strutting around in Fuc- me boots, no wonder she gets along so well with Mrs. McCain who I got to know when she used to party in San Diego. Oh yes and I met Princess Di when she came to San Diego and Cindy your no Princess Di.

Anyway enough about Princess Cindy and back to the real threat Palin. Joe Six pack likes her because he's thinking with his little head, wow she's hot! If you saw her without the make up artist that travels with her and is being paid $11,000 per week plus travel,to slap a ton and a half of makeup on her face you might be scared.

Anybody with an IQ above seventy and all their own teeth think she an idiot. Which she is but she's a dangerous idiot! If her answer on the bombing of Abortion clinics didn't wake you up to her kind then nothing will. The Hockey mom that supports terrorism.

if the terrorist is acting against you. When they commit acts that support your views, they're freedom fighters or heroes. How else do we justify the routine bombing of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan? Collateral damage is a bitch, isn't it? Sarah Palin, and all Americans who support our occupation of Iraq and our military tactics in Afghanistan, are hypocrites to label our acts there as "not terrorism". Bombing clinics is terrorism, bombing civilians anywhere is terrorism. Admit it. It makes it easier to stop this anti-social behavior.

DEFINITION OF PRO LIFE BY OSKAR CASTRO
Posted by: drricklippin on Oct 25, 2008 1:53 PM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
I am happy to post this for Oskar Castro

Dr. Rick Lippin

My definition of Pro-Life means to be anti-war, anti-death penalty,
anti-poverty, anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-homophobia... i had a college
professor once whose personal concept of being pro-life helped to shape mine.
He said, "I am pro-choice to be pro-life"... essentially, as it related to the
abortion issue, he was saying that he supported a woman's right to choice and if
he had that right to choose he "thinks" he would prefer to choose to have the
child. He went further to say that since he as a man would never experience
that choice, maybe only as the partner of a woman weighing her options, he could
only hope that his choice would be to carry a baby to term if he were a woman
facing that scenario. He acknowledged that there are so many factors he would
never have to consider as a man and that therefore it was only proper for women
to have that right to choose for themselves what would be done with their
bodies.

I wish the Left would call out the Right more openly and visibly and start
referring to folk as anti-abortionists rather than being folk who are pro-life.
I am sure there are more than a handful of people out in front of women's
clinics on this Saturday, calling themselves pro-life activists who would NEVER
stand up for Troy Davis's life. And in that is the contradiction of their
self-labeling.

Peace,

Oskar Castro

Combine that with an abnormal desire for ambition and you have a very dangerous combination. Consider this: You see nothing wrong with someone bombing an abortion clinic, at least hesistate or talk in circles in just simply answering, however, you are pro-life? You identify yourself as a Hockey Mom, but shop at Saks Fifth Avenue and spend $22,000 + dollars on make-up, for your looks in a campaign, you approach a political debate the way you would in a beauty pageant and what I destest the most, you use your children as PROPS in front of the camera, every chance you get. You take front-seat credit for a pipeline in your state, something that has been in the works since you were in grade school, claim it as your own, when the truth is that it won't be started or completed for years and years to come. You say you will release your medical records, yet you have refused to release them and still delay producing them. You incite hate, yet profess to be a Christian. It would have lots of accessories, like a Wing-Nut Barbie Black-Hawk helicopter, a toy governor's mansion, and her own anatomically-correct very well-endowed Todd doll partner. Rogue Palin

The following news report was published today by AOL.

Palin 'Going Rogue,' McCain Aide Says

CNN
(Oct. 25) - With 10 days to go until Election Day, long-brewing tensions between GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and key aides to Sen. John McCain have become so intense they are spilling out in public, sources say.

Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue." A Palin associate, however, said the candidate is simply trying to "bust free" of what she believes was a damaging and mismanaged roll-out.

McCain sources say Palin has gone off message several times, and they privately wonder if the incidents were deliberate. They cited that she labeled robocalls -- recorded messages often used to attack a candidate's opponent -- "irritating" even as the campaign defended their use. Also, they pointed to her telling reporters she disagreed with the campaign's decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source tells CNN she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," said this McCain adviser. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.

"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."

This comment, while reprehensible is not surprising considering it came from her mouth. She shows a remarkable lack of perspective and judgement, and her ego shines through like a flare.

I have heard her talking about the Palin/McCain ticket, and have seen a bumper sticker that said "Sarah!" in big letters and below that in small letters "McCain/Palin". Her priorities are clearly out of whack.

She has her eyes on the White House, and considering the corruption that has slithered out of Juneau in her short reign, if I were John McCain I would be more worried about her than the Democrats.

Whoa - did I just get transported on a time machine dating back to, well, around the early 90's when all
the latest headlines/news programs were filled with
ugly stereotypes of those "parasitic welfare mothers"
who were supposedly undermining our society?
Sounds like "melpol", the above poster never left!
I don't know HOW you missed the memo, but w-a-a-y back
in 1996, a little bill called "Welfare Reform" was
passed by then-President Bill Clinton, that ordered
all welfare mothers away from their TV's and candy-
bar-eating lifestyles to pound the pavement, look for
and keep a job or their welfare benefits would be cut.

Why have you chosen to focus on the bottom of the
societal heap to direct your anger? You only hint at
greedy employers and churches but save the most venom
for those least able to defend themselves?
And who says poor children are "wild and noisy"?
Walk into any school in any middle-class neighborhood
and tell me how much quieter it is in there as any
other school? And who are the child bullies filming
their exploits on their cell phones and putting them
on the Internet? Guess again, melpol,

The kind of ignorance you spout would be laughable if
it weren't so damned pathetic. Sounds like you were born a century or so too late - you missed the "work
house" era by about a hundred years!

Is it terrorism if you define half the nation as "anti-American". . .
Posted by: redceres on Oct 26, 2008 7:41 AM
Current rating: 5    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
. . . and then proceed to try your derndest to force them to live under your Talibani style rules?

Is it not terrorism when one group of citizens attempts government takeover to force their religious beliefs on other citizens? To the point where they're a might squeamish about taking ANY level of violence off the table in support of their own opinions? To the point where they clearly sympathize with the desire to murder those who disagree?

I understand the distaste of many for the abortion procedure, but I do not share it. Abortion has been practiced using a variety of methods for millenia, with and without the sanction of government or church. Roe v. Wade was meant to protect women from unsafe procedures, to shut down back-alley "workshops," and to protect the right of every adult in this country to control what happens to his or her body.

If we start deciding that it's okay for pro-forcers to bomb clinics because they really, really disagree, then is it okay for women to start bombing anti-abortion groups because those groups work to make women wards of the state?

Wake up, women. The right wingers want you Committed.

This is not about whether babies are cute.

This is about whether any man who can hold you down and rape you then has a right to make your body into a holding pen for his offspring.

How long until they want to help rapists to incarcerate their victims in order to keep them from aborting the "baby"? How long until any poor 12 year old who is assaulted by a relative or is over-eager to impress a boy is held in a cell to "keep her from hurting herself"?

And what will be the prison sentence if that rape victim or that child aborts the unwanted parasite growing inside her and feeding off her body?

It is not acceptable to make people into biological holding pens against their will.

The pro-force position--that the governo-church should be able to force any impregnated female to carry the fetus to term and deliver it because "babies are cute" and "sex is evil"--might be a little more palatable if we were to come up with a male equivalent.

How about an automatic castration for any male who fathers an unintended pregnancy?

Okay, pro-forcers, let's see if you can manage to get your gall up to attack men in the way that you so vociferiously attack women.

It is truly amazing that a candidate for V.P. of America doesn't believe bombing abortion clinics, killing doctors, patients, as well as bystanders, terrorism, yet our "Justice Department" has charged protesters at the RNC with terrorism!
So, expressing your 1st amendment rights is
an act of terrorism, but actually bombing and killing people is not.
This is no longer the land of the free and home of the brave, and it hasn't been since 1913, when the "Federal" Reserve Act was passed, transferring the government's ability to print debt and interest free currency, to a private, for profit corporation that the government now has to borrow its money from and pay back with interest, causing our nation to continually spiral deeper into debt; 1913 is also the year in which Philander Knox was bribed to say the 16th amendment had been properly ratified, when it was not. Then, in 1914, the Harrison Act, which began the war on drugs (specifically pot) was passed. Since 1913, we have become steadily less free, and long ago lost the right to call ourselves a truly free land,
when members of Congress and the President don't have to take random drug tests, because they fought it, and the practice was found un-Constituional; yet the government continues to encourage private businesses to make "We the People" endure this un-Constitutional indignity, a clear violation of our 4th amendment rights--they even offer tax breaks to companies who participate.
Yet, our own CIA has been implicated several times in the running of drugs--and not marijuana, a drug that has never killed a single person, but which the drug war is really concentrated upon, but cocaine, a truly dangerous drug.
The hypocrisy is amazing.
Just like the Pharmaceutical company has a drug, generic name dronnabinol, trade name Marinol, that is 100% pure, synthetically created, T.H.C.--the exact same active ingredient in marijuana that makes one "high."
Marinol is classified as a Schedule 3 drug--it is regulated the same as, say, valium. The doctor can call you in this prescription over the phone! And Schedule 3 drugs have this basic characterization: "They have medical benefits and a low potential for abuse."
Yet this is 100% pure concentration of the active ingredient in marijuana, which the Drug Czar recently said was "the most dangerous drug of all, even more dangerous than heroin!"
I wonder how many teens died as a result of that statement? The drug Czar says marijuana is stronger than Heroin...well, we've seen, by doing it, that marijuana is no big deal, so let's try Heroin, since it mustbe weaker and safer than marijuana! That man should have immediately been removed from his position. Marijuana has been used for centuries, and has never been known to kill ONE SINGLE PERSON...its main ingredient used in a Cat 3 prescription drug! But Heroin is one of the most dangerous and addictive drugs known to man, easily able to kill a 1st-time user by simply snorting a line the same size as someone might do for cocaine. That was the most irresponsible statement I've ever heard!
And how can the same chemical be rated a Cat 3 in a pill, but when it's in its natural plant form, it gets a Cat 1 rating? Could it have something to do with the pharmaceutical
company's hundreds of thousands in campaign donations?
Because a Cat 1 rating says "This drug has no medical uses, and has a high potential for abuse."
Exact same chemical, yet in a pill it has medical uses and a low potential for abuse, but when in its natural plant form, doesn't have medical uses and has a high potential for abuse!?
Very strange. Makes no rational sense.
It's obvious the war on marijuana has nothing to do with the substance's actual effects as determined by science, but is strictly a political matter.

Competence is irrelevant to nitwit neocons. Looking good in a suit is all that's needed-- besides unquestioning loyalty to das party.

As a non-American i find this whole issue of Sarah Palin real tragic, such a great country with no other choice for Vice President but this imbecile, any chance of Jay Leno joining the ticket as Secretary of State, at least he is really funny.

Some things about Pro-lifers that have always amazed me

+ most are for the death penalty, so while it is ok to put the rapist to death, the mother must carry a baby conceived through a vile act to term?

+ life is precious but how many of them are vegetarians?

+ most prolife individuals are also for smaller government or less government in people's lives, so wouldn't that also mean government should stay out of this decision.

+ most prolifers are also against welfare, why should they pay for someone else's baby (some are even against birth control)

+ most of the people against a MOTHER's right to choose have never read the bible (i've never found a passage that was against abortion in the king james version only a couple passages against pulling out).

c'mon, people don't use abortion as a form of birth control, the decision to abort haunts everyone involved (even the men), and if the prolifers follow their own respective beliefs, the prochoicers will burn for it; but that does not justify giving them hell on this planet, nor taking another's life for the sake of protecting a baby's life.

And Obama is not sure if the PLO is a terrorist group. So he dines with both, Ayers the admited terrorist and his wife the convicted terrorist and the PLO representative at the same time. While anti Israel poems are recited. But hey Obama is not a terrorist himself ...... is he?

I am rethinking the Muslim Terrorist thing. I was sure he was not till I heard of this dinner thing. IS OBAMA A TERRORIST or a TERRORIST sympathyser? Which one is he? Does anyone really know? Either one should scare you to the McCain Palin ticket.
