How the Dems Can Alienate McCain From the GOP Base in Four Easy Steps

On the face of it, this seems absurd. After all, the Right has spent the past two decades accusing Clinton of everything from lesbianism to murder -- why ever would they applaud someone whom they deeply loathe? Had they suddenly become awash with affection for the woman they once dubbed "Hitlery?" Seasoned political observers, however, understood exactly what was going on, as Palin's shameless Clinton fluffing was perhaps the grandest ratfuck campaign yet attempted on a national stage.
For the uninitiated, "ratfucks" are dirty tricks that are not only designed to humiliate and embarrass your opponents, but to create mistrust and turn them against each other. As Rick Perlstein documents in his grand tome Nixonland, right-wing operatives Donald Segretti and Jeb Stuart Magruder used a wide assortment of pranks to sabotage the 1972 Democratic primaries. Notorious examples included slipping bogus flight schedules to Democratic front-runner Ed Muskie's pilot to make him land in the wrong city; letters written to Democrats under a "Citizens for Muskie" letterhead that accused rival candidates of homosexuality and drunken driving; and circulating false stories about Muskie ridiculing Canadians to a right-wing newspaper in New Hampshire.
During this year's Democratic primary, Rush Limbaugh carried on this fine tradition by urging his supporters to register as Democrats and vote for Hillary Clinton to increase the probability that she and rival Barack Obama would engage in destructive inter-party feuds. With Palin's nomination and subsequent praise of Hillary Clinton, the ratfuck achieved national prominence for the first time: The McCain campaign seems to really think that it can pick off former Clinton supporters by appealing to whatever lingering spite they harbor from the primary campaign.
But while conservatives have been the most enthusiastic advocates of ratfuck campaigns over the last 30 years, Democrats should not overlook their potential to help defeat John McCain in November. Lest we forget, many of McCain's supporters ardently hate his guts and are only voting for him out of spite for Barack Obama and his fancy-pants love of vegetables and exercise. And while many conservatives have made pleasing noises about McCain's choice of Palin for vice president, it might only take a few strategically placed references to comprehensive immigration reform to get some of them to stay home on Election Day.
Here, then, is my plan for ratfucking the McCain campaign.
Step 1: Figure out which rats are the cheapest dates.
When you begin your ratfucking operation, you want to start from the path of least resistance. Therefore, it's important to discern which McCain supporters are hard-core devotees and which ones are only voting for him to get Palin as their vice president. George W. Bush was notoriously difficult to ratfuck because all three major factions of the Republican base -- the social conservatives, the neoconservatives and the supply-side conservatives -- backed him to the hilt. In McCain's case, fortunately, the only true hard-core devotees in the conservative movement appear to be the neoconservatives at the Weekly Standard. The reason? Well, McCain seems to like the idea of starting more wars and indefinitely occupying other countries. This is the type of thing that gives neoconservatives thrills up their legs. Indeed, one gets the sense that the neocons wouldn't give a rat's ass if McCain raised the income tax rate to 1 million percent as long as he put all the money into invading more nations. So the neocons are out: No amount of sly seduction or flattery will get you into the sack with them. Luckily, there is much more fertile ground to be harvested with evangelicals and anti-illegal immigration activists.
To state the obvious: Social conservatives and anti-immigration conservatives do not like McCain. They really, really, really, really do not like McCain. Michelle Malkin, for one, thinks that McCain's efforts on comprehensive immigration reform make him a "Hispanderer" whose "heart is with La Raza, the militantly ethnocentric, anti-immigration enforcement Hispanic lobbying group that honored him in 1999 and whose annual conference he keynoted in 2004." Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, meanwhile, has accused McCain of going "out of his way to stick his thumb in the eyes" of social conservatives and has said that he wouldn't vote in the 2008 election if McCain were on the ticket. (After McCain tapped Palin for his running mate, of course, Dobson dutifully came back to the fold. Even so, the resentments still likely linger.)
Indeed, some conservatives dislike McCain so much that they have at various points disowned him completely. The National Review's Kathryn Jean Lopez ably sums up the Right's anger at McCain by noting "that he's not a conservative, that he's been damaging to conservative causes while in the Senate, and that he would be no friend to conservatives." Yikes! And we're supposed to believe that these same people are now ardent and unflappable supporters simply because he's chosen Palin to succeed him?
Step 2: Come up with a good pick-up line.
Now that we know which rats are the cheap dates, it's time to take them out for a drink. Ideally, you want to find an issue or cause that incites both the values voters and the anti-illegal immigrant voters into an anti-McCain frenzy. Thankfully, such a person exists in the person of famed reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee. You see, when Yankee decided to endorse McCain for president because of his work on immigration reform, it drove many on the Right completely bonkers. Anti-immigration conservatives in particular went berserk when Yankee said that McCain has "been a fighter for the Hispanic community" and thus "the best guy to lead this nation."
An enraged Malkin accused McCain of "goofily, stupidly, standing with Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee for the all-important reggaeton vote while teenagers squealed." Further enraging Malkin and friends was the fact that McCain said he was a big fan of Yankee's hit song "Gasolina," which is loaded with sex references and is rumored to be about a woman addicted to semen.
So Daddy Yankee gets us a date with our rats -- now we have to move into hard-core seduction. One strategy would be to funnel cash into a 527 group called Values Voters Against McCain that would release a torrent of ads highlighting all the times McCain has pissed off the GOP's Holy Roller sect. Imagine an ad along these lines:
"For years the Republican Party has promised to take values issues seriously. But in the eight years since we've put them in office, abortion remains legal, pornography pollutes our airwaves, and activist judges keep redefining marriage. And now the Republicans have put up a presidential nominee who ridiculed the Federal Marriage Amendment, who enabled liberal obstruction of conservative judges, and who openly admits that he doesn't care about social issues. This November, send the GOP a message: If they want our votes, they need a nominee who respects our values."
And once this ad takes hold, you can even take a similar tack on Palin, who is being marketed to Christian conservatives as their very own Joan of Juneau. The best way to do this is through attacking the GOP's own mythology of Palin as a tough mother. While it would be wrong to go after Palin's decision to be a working mother (we don't want to promote evil, after all), it's perfectly legitimate to raise questions about her decision to get on an eight-hour plane ride back to Alaska while eight months pregnant with her fifth child after she started leaking amniotic fluid while down in Texas. Though the GOP has tried to spin this behavior as evidence of her "toughness," one could also make the case that it was incredibly reckless and weird. My idea: Gather together a large group of pregnant women to launch a Preggers Against Palin campaign. Their tagline would be simple: "People this reckless with their own kids shouldn't be sending our kids off to reckless wars."
See what I mean? These rats practically fuck themselves!
Step 3: Let's get it on!
Now that we've lured our rats back to our apartment, it's time to get busy. Once our targets are reminded that they positively loathe McCain's stances on social issues and illegal immigration, we can start flat-out lying about him and his record. This can be done by either exaggerating things McCain has said or done in the past or by just making shit up. If you choose the latter tactic, I recommend composing anonymous smear chain e-mails that recount several "facts" that people might not know about McCain.
For instance, did you know that after his keynote speech at La Raza, McCain bowed before a gold statue of the ancient Aztec god Huitzilopochtli and vowed to lead the reconquista to snatch the Southwestern United States away from the American ice devils? Or that the lime green screens that McCain speaks in front of are actually loaded with subliminal messages intended to brainwash Americans into working as slave laborers on Al Gore's arugula farm? And just for the heck of it, did you hear that McCain has an unseemly and un-American attraction to lobsters? It's not that McCain is an out-and-out crustaceaphile, mind you, but the persistent rumors about his occasional dabbling in lobster love have dogged him (or should that be, "clawed" him?) since the start of his political career. Clearly, the McCain campaign should release all of its candidate's credit card statements from his trips to Legal Sea Foods over the years, just to reassure voters that he didn't bring any uncooked lobsters home with him in a doggy bag.
And once this stuff starts spreading throughout Right-Wing Crazy Base Land, McCain's campaign will be well and truly ratfucked. But there's just one more thing we have to remember ...
Step 4: For God's sake, wear a condom!
Ratfucking is an inherently dirty business that forces us to deal with many undesirable characters. That said, there's a big difference between a rat that's carrying syphilis or the clap and a rat that's carrying the goddamn Ebola virus. In order to maintain some sense of decency and humanity, it's probably best to avoid fooling around with the Ebola-carrying rats, no matter how attractive they first look.
One such rat to avoid is "B-1" Bob Dornan, the comically insane ex-Congressman from California who has a long history of racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic statements on his resume and who has had a long-standing feud with John McCain since the early '90s.
In order to sabotage McCain's appeal to conservatives, B-1 Bob has founded a group called Vietnam Veterans Against McCain that is dedicated to showing that John McCain actively collaborated with North Vietnam during his time as a POW during the Vietnam War. Among the exciting revelations that you can find on the group's Web site are that "McCain was subjected to five-and-a-half years of Soviet driven 'brain perversion techniques'"; that McCain has an "ongoing love affair with leaders of communist Vietnam"; and that McCain is not sufficiently patriotic enough because he doesn't want to wage a genocidal war against all Muslims.
To be sure, this crackpot stuff is very enticing for anyone who thrills in the delights of a good ratfuck. Indeed, the fine bloggers at the Poor Man Institute have long advocated funneling cash to B1 Bob and his crazy pals, since "fair play demands that equal time be given to Bob Dornan & Friends saying John McCain is VC android, and people saying he's not an android while Bob Dornan & Friends accuse them of being in on the conspiracy." But step back for a minute and consider what you'd be doing if you gave these guys your support: You'd basically be saying that anyone who talks under torture is a no-good commie traitor who should be tried an executed for treason. You'd also be giving credence to people who think that Bush has been too wimpy in his pursuit of the War on Terror, and that anything less than a full-scale massacre of the Middle East is a cheap cop-out.
While fucking rats is all well and good, there are some rats that should be left well enough alone, my friends. From my perspective, B-1 Bob is a rat too far.

The fully-funded Hollywood production is based on Webster's definition that a traitor is "someone who betrays his country, cause or friends."
For example, McCain's campaign slogan is "Country First." But when it came time to make his most important decision as a presidential candidate, to win votes he selected Sarah Palin as his heartbeat-away commander-in-chief instead of a better qualified Republican -- such as Vietnam veteran, former Ohio governor and Homeland Security chief, Tom Ridge.
By putting politics ahead of what was best for our country, McCain betrayed his fellow Americans and showed himself to be a traitor.
There is a caveat, however. If Barack Obama maintains a healthy lead in the polls, the 527 attack ad won't be used.
One more thing for NEW AlterNet visitors. If you are an undecided voter, learn the truth about Insane McCain and his so-called heroic war record by clicking on: Vote Against McCain (one of the HOTTEST anti-McCain sites on the Web)

Spoonamore says electronic voting machines represent national security threat, Israel, China and Russia have capability to rig presidential outcome
Paul Joseph Watson
[1] Prison Planet
Tuesday, September 30, 2008
Stephen Spoonamore warns in a new interview that electronic voting machines represent a national security threat and that hackers are already planning to steal the 2008 presidential election for John McCain.
Spoonamore is a GOP member and a lifelong Republican, having worked on election campaigns with Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg. He also has 20 years worth of experience in encrypted and networked communications systems for banks, TV, telecommunications, EMS, Military and other uses.
In an ten part You Tube interview, Spoonamore warns that hackers are planning to steal the election on behalf of the McCain camp and even predicts the margin of victory, that McCain will make a “shocking recovery” and win 51.2 percent of the vote with three electoral votes over Obama.
“This is a national security threat,” said Spoonamore, “it is very possible for a foreign government to begin manipulating that transmission of code just as they attempt to do fairly often with our financial data….we deal with it every day on the commercial side,” he added, noting that China, and not the American people, has a greater chance of choosing the next U.S. president.

But is it possible that McCain is falling on his sword to protect America from the people who are damaging it? to stop them from gaining power? I don't know why, but the nation has become crazy with an ideology that rejects realities...and Americans were once known for being pragmatists.
How anyone can defend the choice of Sarah Palin for vp is beyond me.

While you're at it, please ask your representatives for an explanation as to why America uses electronic voting machines when other first-world countries are still using paper ballots. Hacking aside, ask them to explain how a legal recount can be done without the original paper records.

I had another candidate ask ME to fill out the questionnaire for him and another one dressed me down for not being given money by random potheads. (Many of them were very nice.)
I was shocked they would that me that way and while discussing it around the cooler we wondered, didn't they know we would talk about them? These were politicians! We are activists, what were they they thinking? Especially the one trying to get me to commit fraud for him... hmm. Interesting behavior for someone running for office.

Reed just assumes that McCain is telling the truth in saying he "broke" under torture. There are others, however, who testify that he did it for cigarettes and for better living arrangements. His Vietnamese interrogator recently claimed that they were gentler with McCain because they knew that because he was the son of the Navy admiral who was the CINCPAC, he was "the crown prince." Other POWs have claimed that McCain was given special treatment.
The transcripts of the broadcasts that McCain made for the North Vietnamese are still under tight seal at the Pentagon. Why isn't McCain calling for their release so he can clear his name of allegations that Dornan and others have
made against him? Instead, McCain refuses to talk about it.
Could there be a coverup at the highest levels to justify awarding him medals while in captivity? You don't have to ratfuck Dornan to question McCain's patriotism. Just go to the website listed above by "NoMcCainPalin" to get the particulars.

Since November 3, 2004 I have been reading many articles on the presidential election of 2004, 9/11, the 9/11 Commission Report, the Downing Street memo, lying about weapons of mass destruction, invading Iraq for oil and corporate domination, the London bombings, John Gannon, the media complicity and more.
Based upon my reading and research, it is clear to me that George Bush stole the past election by computer fraud and that his administration played a major role in the planning and execution of 9/11. In addition of course Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction so that he could invade Iraq for the control of oil and for corporate profits.
I am outraged. It would seem to me that if I am outraged based on what I know then at least some United States Senators would be outraged since they have the opportunity, staff and the position to know a lot more than I do.
However, tonight I found out at the U-2 concert that Senator John Kerry does not seem to be outraged by the current state of affairs that the Bush administration has created. Senator Kerry does not seem to be outraged by the fact that George Bush stole the election from him by computer fraud and voters suppression. John Kerry does not seem to be outraged by the unbelievable conspiracy theory told by George Bush and the 9/11 Commission about what happened on 9/11.
Now how could that be possible. The only explanation that is plausible to me is that Senator Kerry does not have the political and personal courage to stand up and speak the truth and ask the American people to start demanding the truth instead of the lies of the Bush administration. He like 99% of politicians is only interested in getting re-elected. If he and other politicians were interested in the truth, they would act. But they are not.
I will tell you why I think this about Senator Kerry. Well, I will tell you why I think this based on my experience tonight at the concert. I have many other reasons to think that Senator Kerry and most if not all congresspeople are part of the problem because they are basically on the same corporate team that George Bush is on.
For the past six months, I have been attempting to enroll a congress person or United States Senator to start speaking out about the atrocities of the Bush administration. If they did, the people would listen and demand a change. Of course, I have not been able to enroll any congressperson in this seemingly “easy to get excited about” project.
So when I saw Senator Kerry walking up the aisle to his seat about one section away from my seat at the concert tonight, I listened to people cheer while I just stood there thinking about how could I get over to speak with him. It turned out to be very simple. I walked up the aisle, across one section, down the aisle and walked into the aisle where John Kerry was sitting. There were only a few people between the aisle and where he was standing just before the concert started.
I walked up to him and he turned and I said “John, I am an attorney in Arlington and I worked on your campaign last fall. I met you about 25 years ago when I was working on the Mondale/Ferraro campaign. I am very upset about Bush stealing the election.”
Senator Kerry looked at the card and said that “we do not have the votes to impeach him”. I said “you need to speak out so that people in this country start listening and get angry enough to demand a change”. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you are powerful than you have the capacity to “create a listening” for the truth.
Senator Kerry did nothing more.

It is a concerted, encompassing endeavor, an all sides attack. Which is exactly what was executed upon the US by Corps, their Pocket Polticians and their Foreign Sponsors.
Biggest Canon at the front gate Must be McCains bread crumb trail from Keating 5 to Phil Gramm (Mr.Enron) over his right Shoulder to this Economic meltdown caused by Deregulations. that's not just an Albatros around his Neck, It's the Cement on his Feet!
Add the Second big Canon at the back Gate of his Ties to Big Oil..On the West side Reckless Endangerment,With forethought (per his Claims on Vetting) by naming such a blatantly Unqualified cadidate as VP..On The East His Mental, emotional and Physical 'Fitness for Duty'.
Then of course fill in with infidelity with disregard, 'agents of Intolerance',A Kept Man,Sudden reversal to Appeasing Dick Cheney...Theres tons of bits of Mac's history which are 'UNbecoming'.
By Defeating Mac We will be assuring that what has been running our country aground for the last 40 yrs will Not remain in Power.

His idea that Richard Nixon style political tactics are effective in a democracy is entirely objectionable.
Interpolating from Mr. Reed's language and suggestions, one must conclude that the entire purpose of a political campaign is to win power for the purpose of punishing and harrassing one's political enemies.
The outcome of such shabby political tactics is self-evident in the outcome of Richard Nixon's Presidency. President Nixon achieved historic diplomatic breakthroughs and laid the groundwork for a peaceful and successful conclusion of the cold war. Yet he left office in disgrace.
President Nixon was successful in foreign policy because he was a master strategist and consistently sought diplomatic solutions that advanced the best interests of all sides. This allowed the Communists the ability to pursue humane and enlightened goals.
In domestic politics, Richard Nixon allowed his personal animus to dominate his tactics. Watergate is the name applied to a large set of crimes aimed at subverting democracy in America. In commissioning these crimes, Richard Nixon used the Presidency to make a sustained and vicious attack on our system of self government.
Mr. Reed's proposal to pursue Nixonian tactics is as reprehensible, if not as powerful as Richard Nixon's criminality.

I want to take exception to the notion that Palin seems to be completely indifferent to the accuracy of facts and history. She kept trying to make it unacceptable for Biden to 'point fingers back to the past'. This is exactly why we have McCain at the top of the Republican ticket. For Pete's sake, McCain is nothing more than a carefully constructed myth. He is no 'Maverick' and in fact, I contend that he is the ultimate hypocrite on issue after issue.
One of the worst things that happened to John McCain's campaign, aside from picking Palin, is the economy imploding from years of unchecked greed and corruption and Republican control and influence on every level of this economy. For the record, some Democrats lost their way and participated in some of the same sins. Here are some facts to chew on; Phil Gramm, one of John McCain's economic advisors authored the Gramm/Leach/Bliley Act in 1999 during the last year of Bill Clinton's administration. John McCain supported this bill.
This bill is the Deregulation Bill that is largely responsible for the downward spiral that our country is in today. Phil Gramm is the man who just two months ago told us that we were suffering from a mental recession and that we were a 'nation of whiners'. His other advisor is Carly Fiorina, ex CEO of Hewlett Packard, who after tanking the company and reducing share values by 50%, she then pink slipped 21,000 employees and when she was asked to leave, they gave her a 42 Million Dollar severance package.
Remember John McCain is still the man that was directly involved in the disgraceful Savings and Loan Bank debacle called the Keating 5 Scandal. If it had been 'Joe Six Pack', he would have gone to jail for years. John McCain got a Congressional Reprimand. So, now that the McCain and Palin are drumming up the alleged Ayres association, we can remind people of the thousands of families who lost their homes during the S&L fiasco and the bombing of a reporter in Arizona that was investigating the scandal and McCain's role. McCain was allegedly involved as a possible person of interest for that incident. Amazing how the Republicans have no respect for history, huh? I wonder why.
One last note about history and the importance of facts and content; Palin's quote via Ronald Reagan was not about freedom and democracy, it was a speech delivered sometime around 1960 or 1961 and it was intended to create fear and opposition against Medicare. My God, for an evangelical Christian to be against medical care for senior citizens is simply not biblical. People, please learn the facts and remember that if we fail to remember the lessons of history, we are doomed to repeat the mistakes. This woman, her running mate and the party that they are part of are truly dishonest and/or ignorant and seemingly proud of those distinctions. Wake up people.
Up with 527s for Obama. All you need to use are the facts. History is important.

Suggesting we lie and cheat to win an election is the most depressing, cynical, soul-killing idea since Barack Obama announced his candidacy in the land of Lincoln.
You realize you are advocating that we act like NIXON, right?
And you do realize that the Right wingers everywhere will pass this on as evidence that we're all crooks and liars, right? This is you helping the cause?
And shame on your for that horrific for "ratfucking as date rape" framing (Note to author: the Dems RELY on women voters in every election, this one more than ever. And women have many reasons to be conflicted this year. DON'T PISS THEM OFF WITH GRATUTIOUS SEXISM. EVEN IF YOU DON'T SEE IT. TRUST ME, IT'S A GRIEVOUS ERROR.)
One thing Sarah Palin is right about; we need to LOOK FORWARD, not backwards, to what the future promises not what the sorry past delivered. Hope and Change does not come from the bottom of the barrel, but from the top.
Yes We Can! Obama/Biden '08 -- Let's win this election with honor!

By using repugnut tactics we become the very thing we hate. People will eventually see through the mud as they are beginning to now.
Yes, the stakes are high; but nothing should make us compromise our ideals of honesty and fair play.

But the democratic party is the party that looks out for the poor, the young, the old, the sick, the working people. The party of inclusion, tolerance, commited to diversity and equal rights. I don't deny we are nuts, but mostly in good ways. Not crazy mean like the repugs, just crazy in a nice way. During their (our) convention this year I thought to myself, "YES! This is why I'm a democrat and this is why I LOVE my party!" I'm not ashamed of it, I'm not even a little bit interested in joining a 'new' party. It's my opinion that people are people and a third party, or fourth or fifth party sounds ok at first, interesting, but on further consideration I say no thanks. Germany had more than two parties, they got Hitler. England has more than two parties, they still got Margeret Thatcher, Tony pink shirt Blair and war war war.
I found a third party group on line last year that sounded so interesting. Heard about them on the Colbert Report, supposedly a bi-partisan group looking to put together a bi-partisan 'dream team'. Most of the people had the hots for Bloomberg, that's where the money was coming from. Their repuglican strategist "could get Hitler elected" according to an article from 1998. LOTS of Paul supporters! That was most of the activity, people REAL upset about immigration. I was the only frigging democrat there. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out what they were up to. They thought it would be fun to run McCain and Liebermann, said that would send alot of us "running for the hills." When I figured out what they were up to I came running to Alternet (God bless you) and contacted Colbert's staff. Within a couple of days their silly web site was infested by beautiful wonderful crazy fellow dems and the Colbert Nation. It really put me off third parties, definately might end up very different from what you might want or expect. We need to fix our party, the traditional dem party. That is why I told those fools on Unity 08, I told them to fix their own fucking party and stop being sore losers.
I love my country, it isn't perfect, far from it, no country is, but I love it. I love the democratic party for so many reasons I can't even list all of them. My love is profound. We don't need ratfucking, we won't ratfuck, no. We don't even think that way, I don't think we would be any good at it if we tried, and I'm good with that. We will win without fucking anyone.
The democratic party went through an amazing vetting process during the primary. Millions of new voters have registered as new dems bringing new blood, new ideas, and new energy to the party as well as new leadership. Everything since February has been absolutely amazing!
IMO this can only bode well for our democracy and our country. I'm really very excited and optimistic.
And we won't need rat fucking or a third party.
This is what Obama understands.
Edwin H. Friedman:
"The colossal misunderstanding of our time is the assumption that insight will work with people who are unmotivated to change. Communication does not depend on syntax, or eloquence, or rhetoric, or articulation but on the emotional context in which the message is being heard. People can only hear you when they are moving toward you, and they are not likely to when your words are pursuing them. Even the choices words lose their power when they are used to overpower. Attitudes are the real figures of speech."

The observations, though from Nietzsche are apt here.
I feel confident that the ratfuck proposal was tongue in cheek, but I'd hate to see anyone descend to the levels of the Republicans.
What is needed is the empowerment of working people rather than effective clique fighting against and within the elites. The weapons we forge and refine remain available to all.
We need to forge weapons that can only be wielded in defense of working people

Due to his own recklessness, he placed the lives of other prisoners in danger. Other prisoners were severely tortured (and some even died from the excessive beatings), but they did not cave in and confess.
His own recklessness and lack of judgement were responsible for his plane being hit (again, he describes this in detail in his book). He never did anything to make him a hero. A hero is one who selflessly puts life on the line to save another. He never, ever did such a thing. But he did save his own hide.
The man is a liar. He is no hero. To read a very interesting account of his POW experience, go to recklessmccain.com. And please share it with others - it is a very good read.

And why did the Democrats not say: "Mister Bush, tear down your stonewalls" ? Because Bush needed us poor folk more than we need him, he would have been forced to come clean on ALL his crimes by handing us all e-mails, witnesses and files now being supressed by the Justice (NOT) Dept.... even hand us the head of Carl Rove on a silver platter, if we made it a necessary quid pro quo for a single PENNY of bailout. Since it would not cost very much, in funding or effort, the idea should have been irresistable as well as emminently and quickly do-able!
Even right-minded conservatives would push for that, for full transparency, starting with having all bailout negotiations being done in public, and for the record, so we could explain to our greatgrandkids why we screwed them over.
The answers indicate that we do "loyal opposition" for show only, and that this government is a one-party operation when the chips are down, especially when these same Dem-pols are holding worthless paper in their own personal financial accounts. Can you say: "Massive conflict of interest"?
But not asking for a single e-mail? Really. Socialism for the rich, fascism for the poor, as CAPITALISM BECOMES CANIBALISM, perfect rhymes and reasons why we are willing to eat our own children, for all the care we demonstrate for our progeny.
Goodbye America, from this one-eyed-man.

But, yea, Dornan's intense dislike of him is reason enough for me to vote for McCain, under that enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend provision. If Dornan hates him, then he must be good as gold. Ditto for Dobson and all the other wingnuts.
Maybe if Pelosi and friends hadn't carried so much dirty water for BushCo the last two years I'd take more kindly to the idea of electing even more people from the party which makes the world safe for Republicans into high office, but I'm not one to be fooled twice.
I mean, why bother voting for Democrats when you can just skip the middlemen entirely and elect Republicans directly?

Let the Repubs and their Religious Right stoop to such filthy tactics. Spoonamore, Connell and the rest of those who love the fetus and kill the living for profit are totally willing to do such things.
They corrupt, hijack and steal everything they can, and given enough time may well hijack our country and our economy. But somehow I cannot lend myself to such filthy activities as they seek to employ. Let Rove and Diebold run the country. These people are at the core of the filth that has over taken our nation and their may be little we can actually do about it.
Either they corrupt religion or corrupt religion corrupts them, I do not know which is the case . But stepping down to their level is dancing with the devil. They, the Repub party, the Bush family and the Religious Right, want to do their evil, then that is what they will do. But I'll not join any of them.
Religious theology that kills people is evil. That's all their is to it, no matter how much they rationalize. Death and corruption and the stealing of peoples souls, no matter the reason, is still stealing that which God has given.
Evil is evil, no matter what form it takes. The same can be said for all forms of corruption. We are supposed to strive to do better, not step down to their level.

How about painting Palin as a sinner and blasphemer for using "swear words" on a very regular basis?
If it were me, of course, I'd be adverse to voting for her simply on the basis of her horrendous facial expressions and butchering of the language, not to mention her loopy political and religious views. However, logic and reason are no match for emotions and erroneous convictions, so another tactic is sorely needed.

This piece really isn't bad as far as the thesis and ideas are concerned, but the verbiage isn't worthy of a college composition course. If you use fairly filthy language, you should at least have humor and wit, without it you sound supremely ridiculous and like a 14 year old boy taking a break from playing his computer gameboy.
