Election 2016

Watch: Colbert Mocks Trump’s Insane Primary Victory Speech

The Late Show host has an alternative job for the GOP frontrunner—something even better than president.

Stephen Colbert discussed Tuesday's primary results on last night's show, including Bernie Sanders' surprise win over Hillary Clinton. “Michigan was definitely feeling the Bern last night,” Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show, announced. “And it wasn’t just from the water in Flint.”

Colbert then updated his audience on the Republican side, where Trump triumphed and made a point of getting back at Mitt Romney, who had severely criticized Trump last week. Of course, his victory speech had some unusual elements.

"[So] after winning Mitt’s home state of Michigan, Trump’s victory speech had a little bit of product placement.” The products placed included a pile of steaks.

“That’s right," Colbert said. "Trump gave his victory speech next to a pyramid of raw steak. He was either trying to prove Mitt wrong or introduce his new running mate, Trump, pile of meat, 2016. Good luck telling them apart.”

The infomercial-like presentation reminded us of something else too.

“If elected Trump would be the first president to come with a sticker,” mused Colbert. “As seen on TV.”
