Stephan Said has long spoken out for peace in the Middle East as an artist, ever since 2003 when his anti-Iraq War track 'The Bell' went viral. In solidarity with the people of Egypt, today he releases his version of “Aheb Aisht Al Huriya,” an Egyptian civil rights song from the 1930s with lyrics written by Egyptian Poet Laureate Ahmed Shawki. The title of the track translates to 'I Love A Life of Freedom,' and Said shows the lyrics in English in the video - I love the life of freedom/ Like birds love being in trees...Said says it's “an anthem to global unity and equality I learned from my father,” and that “this is our moment, the moment when each of us must summon our highest, most poetic selves to courageously step into the brilliance of the next world, a world already in the making.”

Said's offering the song for free download over at his website -- go here to grab it gratis. His next album will be out in September, on the International Day of Peace. Watch the video below.
