I've been saying for years that there will be forty states that have emission caps, wage equality and universal healthcare before we get it on the federal level.

Washington is so far behind the Bay Area I wonder what we are paying taxes for. And when I heard that Greenberg Kansas was rebuilding using "green" methods, with wind, solar, and passive solar as energy sources, it was clear that not only are Washington/Bush/Cheney/big business decades behind the Bay Area, they're 10 years behind Kansas! No wonder we're no longer the world leader in anything except military (not defense) spending.

Just a Question:

Are Empathy ("Compassion") and Integrity to be equated with emotions or inclusive of emotions? Are each and both of these not principles of individual and social conduct in an absurd and corrupted world, not only locally but globally, not only politically but economically, socially and culturally?

Are these not intellectual and ethical values in our social relations with one another?

The pressures of existing conditions on our own and other societies far exceed only the emotional level.
