Welcome to the Nomination Race That Will Not Die

Order another bag of peanuts, pass the cotton candy and get used to the smell of sawdust, because the circus tour has been extended. Yes, my friends, welcome to the primary that will not die. You'd think that after 6 thrill-filled weeks of hosting this sideshow competition of rival ring-masters outdoing each other in the Like A Normal Human Animal Act, the State of Pennsylvania would selflessly provide the rest of the country with a semblance of closure by permanently pulling up the stakes of this traveling Big Top. But no. They got addicted to the sound of calliope music and don't want the spectacle to end.

Selfish bastards.

While we watched over their shoulders, the residents of the Keystone State had a front row bench seat view of the wacky zany antics of two of America's finest moral contortionists variously indulging in comedic bowling, throwing back shots with beers (performed a little too expertly, if you ask me) imaginary sniper fire dodging and way more information about spiritual advisors than we needed. All the while we oohed and aaahed and shoveled handfuls of funnel cake into our mouths, then stood up to put on our coats ready to head home and pore over the handbill for the Circus Maximus about to parade into town, but while we were digging for our keys, Pennsylvania wiped some peanut shells off the bench and sat back down.

All that was left was to light the ceremonial fuse to fire the shot that announced the ending of this historic freak show media encampment. But something happened. The human cannonball got stuck. Or the sword swallower sneezed. Or the clowns got lost in the basement of the car. Or they needed to reduce their inventory of corn dogs. Or maybe the problem was Hill and Bare themselves. Perhaps their prop masters didn't trust them to execute the tightrope shootout which explains why instead of exploding, their guns just popped out sticks that said "Bang."

Hillary Clinton didn't win Pennsylvania, she survived. Long enough for another attempt to nail that elusive quadruple on the flying trapeze. But the net is gone and the clock is ticking. The Junior Senator from New York may have bested the Junior Senator from Illinois by nearly ten percentage points but at the rate she cut into his delegate lead, she's on pace to overtake him sometime during the middle of his second term.

To the elders of the Democratic Party, this is Worst-Case Scenario City: harmless carnival attraction twists into a grisly horror movie in the middle of the final reel. The political variation of Saw V. Two people. Locked inside of a single country. Each with a war chest of souped up power tools. And this time, the electricity is on.

The answer to the double billing conundrum is obvious; Unfortunately, there are only two Democrats in America who aren't salivating like trained dogs at the idea of the Obama and Clinton Dream Ticket and those two Democrats are Obama and Clinton. Meanwhile, John McCain is free to stumble around the country frightening children.

So, go ahead, re-inflate those mylar balloons, but keep them out of reach of the candidates because at this point, their first inclination will be to strangle each other with them. And someone warn Indiana and North Carolina that the circus is coming to town, and the acrobats are brandishing chain saws.

Where are the clowns?

"Unfortunately, there are only two Democrats in America who aren't salivating like trained dogs at the idea of the Obama and Clinton Dream Ticket and those two Democrats are Obama and Clinton."

ummmm....actually unless Obama can have an official food taster living in the White House with him I don't want the Clintons anywhere near him, so no, I am definately not salivating for them to be on the same ticket and don't see it as a dream ticket, no way. I don't ever want to vote for a Clinton again under any circumstances. In February yes, now no, no, no way. The Clintons should be drummed out of the dem party, held in contempt for their vile campaign manipulations, they are both disgraceful and shameless and more than a little demented.

I propose this for Hillary and Bill Clinton's swan song:

Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air..
Where are the clowns?

Isn't it bliss?
Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around,
One who can't move...
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns.

Just when I'd stopped opening doors,
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours.
Making my entrance again with my usual flair
Sure of my lines...
No one is there.

Don't you love farce?
My fault, I fear.
I thought that you'd want what I want...
Sorry, my dear!
And where are the clowns
Send in the clowns
Don't bother, they're here.

Isn't it rich?
Isn't it queer?
Losing my timing this late in my career.
And where are the clowns?
There ought to be clowns...
Well, maybe next year.

MY FELLOW "BITTER", STUPID, WORKING CLASS PEOPLE :-)

If you think like Barack Obama, that WORKING CLASS PEOPLE are just a bunch of "BITTER"!, STUPID, PEASANTS, Cash COWS!, and CANNON FODDER. :-(

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think Barack Obama with little or no experience would be better than Hillary Clinton with 35 years experience.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience can fix an economy on the verge of collapse better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) led the greatest economic expansion, and prosperity in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience fighting for universal health care can get it for you better than Hillary Clinton. Who anticipated this current health care crisis back in 1993, and fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds to get universal health care for all the American people.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience can manage, and get us out of two wars better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) went to war only when he was convinced that he absolutely had to. Then completed the mission in record time against a nuclear power. AND DID NOT LOSE THE LIFE OF A SINGLE AMERICAN SOLDIER. NOT ONE!

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience saving the environment is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) left office with the greatest amount of environmental cleanup, and protections in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with little or no education experience is better than Hillary Clinton. Whose ;-) husband (Bill Clinton) made higher education affordable for every American. And created higher job demand and starting salary’s than they had ever been before or since.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that Obama with no experience will be better than Hillary Clinton who spent 8 years at the right hand of President Bill Clinton. Who is already on record as one of the greatest Presidents in American history.

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think that you can change the way Washington works with pretty speeches from Obama, rather than with the experience, and political expertise of two master politicians ON YOUR SIDE like Hillary and Bill Clinton..

You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you think all those Republicans voting for Obama in the Democratic primaries, and caucuses are doing so because they think he is a stronger Democratic candidate than Hillary Clinton. :-)

Best regards

jacksmith... Working Class :-)

p.s. You Might Be An Idiot! :-)

If you don't know that the huge amounts of money funding the Obama campaign to try and defeat Hillary Clinton is coming in from the insurance, and medical industry, that has been ripping you off, and killing you and your children. And denying you, and your loved ones the life saving medical care you needed. All just so they can make more huge immoral profits for them-selves off of your suffering...

You see, back in 1993 Hillary Clinton had the audacity, and nerve to try and get quality, affordable universal health care for everyone to prevent the suffering and needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of you each year. :-)

Approx. 100,000 of you die each year from medical accidents from a rush to profit by the insurance, and medical industry. Another 120,000 of you die each year from treatable illness that people in other developed countries don’t die from. And I could go on, and on...

OBAMA AIDE: "WORKING-CLASS VOTERS NOT KEY FOR DEMOCRATS" :-(

It's Time

IT'S TIME AMERICA:

It's time for everyone to face the truth. Barack Obama has no real chance of winning the national election in November at this time. His crushing defeat in Pennsylvania makes that fact crystal clear. His best, and only real chance of winning in November is on a ticket with Hillary Clinton as her VP.

Hillary Clinton seemed almost somber at her victory speech. As if part of her was hoping Obama could have defeated her. And proved he had some chance of winning against the republican attack machine, and their unlimited money, and resources. In all honesty. I felt some of that too.

But it is absolutely essential that the democrats take back the Whitehouse in November. America, and the American people are in a very desperate condition now. And the whole World has been doing all that they can to help keep us propped up.

Hillary Clinton say's that the heat, and decisions in the Whitehouse are much tougher than the ones on the campaign trail. But I think Mr. Obama faces a test of whether he has what it takes to be a commander and chief by facing the difficult facts, and the truth before him. And by doing what is best for the American people by dropping out of the race, and offering his whole hearted assistance to Hillary Clinton to help her take back the Whitehouse for the American people, and the World.

Mr. Obama is a great speaker. And I am confident he can explain to the American people the need, and wisdom of such a personal sacrifice for them. It should be clear to everyone by now that Hillary Clinton is fighting her heart out for the American people. She has known for a long time that Mr. Obama can not win this November. You have to remember that the Clinton's have won the Whitehouse twice before. They know what it takes.

If Mr. Obama fails his test of commander and chief we can only hope that Hillary Clinton can continue her heroic fight for the American people. And that she prevails. She will need all the continual support and help we can give her. She may fight like a superhuman. But she is only human.

Sen. Hillary Clinton: "You know, more people have now voted for me than have voted for my opponent. In fact, I now have more votes than anybody has ever had in a primary contest for a nomination. And it's also clear that we've got nine more important contests to go."

Sincerely

Jacksmith... Working Class :-)

When he finally does win the nomination, he will have a ready-made slogan that the entire country can rally behind, a four word slogan that will inspire people from the left and the right to come together, a slogan which will dispell all doubt as to his toughness.

The slogan: I BEAT HILLARY CLINTON!

i'm no obama partisan, but the sheer number of times i see you (specifically you, jacksmith) posting the same tired rant about how obama is so terrible and "the clintons" (as if they were one person) are god's gift to the planet... AS A COMMENT TO EVERY STORY - it makes me really want hillary clinton to lose. frankly, i wish john edwards were still in the race. actually, i wish segolene royal were in the US race - but a social democrat running in the US is too much to hope for. le sigh.

jacksmith and Hillary's "35 years of experience"
Posted by: onevoter on Apr 26, 2008 2:33 PM
Current rating: 4    [1 = poor; 5 = excellent]
jacksmith:

If you had to have brain surgery, who would you rather have operate on you? The brain surgeon, or their spouse, who never performed surgery and is not a doctor?
If you were a passenger in an airplane, who would you want flying? The pilot, or their spouse, who never flew a plane?
Does being the cheerleader qualify someone to be the quarterback?
I could go on, but the point should be clear, even for an "idiot" like you or me....

Hillary's "35 years of experience" has 20 years of being the spouse of a governor and a president. I'm sorry, but in the real world most of us live in, that is called inflating your resume. Big Daddy in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof would call it mendacity. (That's "lying" for all of us idiots out here)

As far as the "Hillary-Care" health bill in 1993, she made crucial political errors that sunk that ship. First, she kept the negotiations shrouded in secrecy. Second, she decided to keep the insurance companies at the table. Sounds like Cheney and the energy bill.

She would serve the nation and the Democratic party better by deflating her ego and remaining a senator from New York. She could become Senate Majority Leader, where she could have great influence over many issues.

Obama/Clinton Nightmare Ticket

Why would Obama want anything to do with the Clintons?

The attitude, style and strategy of the two candidates and campaigns are totally different. Trying to combine them sounds like a sure prescription for a dysfunctional campaign from day one.

Besides, Obama doesn’t need Hillary Clinton. There are plenty of other potential VP candidates that don’t start with a pathetic 37 percent approval rating (NBC/WSJ poll).

Kathleen Sebelius, Bill Richardson and Jim Webb are on my list, who is on yours?

As Sen. Hillary Clinton has ‘managed’ to take the Pennsylvania state, the Democratic race for nomination is very much alive – and most likely to be decided by superdelegates. Indiana ,Idaho and West Virginia are still to come.

If you’re tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support Clinton or Obama

If you haven't done so yet, please write a message to each of your state's superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com

It takes a moment, but what's a few minutes now worth to get Obama in office?!

Sending a note to current Obama supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Clinton supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Obama, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Obama. It's that easy...

If the prolonged race is a problem, blame shouldn't be placed on a candidate or candidates for doggedly staying in the race, blame is on the set up of the primary season. Last I checked, we are still a democracy and all of our citizens have a right to a vote that counts. This primary is really giving people that chance. Let this race play out to the end.

The news media will over exploit anything to bring down the front runner, and build up the challenger. It sells news. The news industrial complex wants ratings. The longer the race will go, the more money they make. You can expect this in the general election, too. McKane is a week canidate. You mark my words. They will make him look like he can walk on water, and make the democratic nominee look weak and unstable. They did it in the last two elections. They get a double dip of ice cream out of this primary.

Supposedly Obama should drop out of the race despite being ahead, and "wholeheartedly support" Clinton despite all the incessant dirty doings of her campaign, because "he cannot win in November." And why not? Well, you know! Because he's black, of course. This is the sort of sly racism that has been coming out of the Clinton campaign for months...and I don't think the Clintons are actually racists. What they are is sociopaths--people without scruples who will do whatever they think might help them get the White House back.
Clinton is the one who cannot win in November, because two thirds of the country hates her passionately--the Right because she's Bill's wife, and because she's a feminist, and the Left because she's a war-mongering Republican in a donkey suit.
