Talk about how the almighty have fallen. The dollar is headed downhill faster than Bode Miller on a set of rocket skis. Think nose dive. Plummetville. Plunge City. Belly Floppo Rama. Recession is such an ugly word. Try walking down a New York City street these days without getting knocked off the sidewalk by a gaggle of foreigners brandishing a circumference of high end shopping bags like a cardboard armada. Can't be done.

I blame George Bush and his imbecilic economic chicanery for subjecting us to these indignities. Spending 2 trillion on an unnecessary war. Silly boy. Lowering taxes during that same unnecessary war. Sillier boy. Policies that have prompted OPEC to make noises about following Brazilian supermodel Giselle Bundchen's lead, in asking to be paid in Euros. Euros, hell, the lady should choose to be paid in clothes, because to look at her, she doesn't seem to own any. Somebody, throw this girl a jacket. She must be cold.

The dollar has sunk lower than a strip show flyer stuck to the undercarriage of a leased Lamborghini Murcielago. The pound is up to $2, levels not seen since the '50s. The Euro is at its highest level against the dollar ... ever. When? Ever! French President Sarkozy spent his summer vacation in New Hampshire. "400 francs and that includes everything, including zee servants." Things have gotten so bad, Russian mob bosses are back to using 5000 Ruble bills to snort lines of cocaine off of hookers' chests. It's like the October Revolution all over again.

That obnoxious sound coming from north of the border: the non-stop laughter of millions of Canadians playing a little game they call payback, mocking the play money we call moolah, "Oh, so I guess you would be talking aboot AMERICAN dollars, eh? Oooh. I don't know there, eh." Our economy isn't in the doldrums. Our economy can't even see the doldrums. Our economy aspires to the doldrums. Dubyah has turned us into a third world banana republic. We're Costa Rica to the rest of the World. With lousier snorkeling.

Who can blame the hordes of Eurotrash from clogging the aisles of our Tiffany franchises like an extended family of hillbillies at a dollar store? Everything here is so incredibly cheap. We've turned into a discount playground for the world's trust fund babies. High-end restaurants, the good hotels, VIP sections of our most exclusive nightclubs, Saturday night movie tickets: pretty much off limits to anybody holding an American passport. We're the minimum wage security guards of a giant high-end outlet mall known as America just one cut rate Virgin flight away from true civilization.

And thank god we, the general public, never fell for that whole "you got to save your money" BS and are still proud holders of the "Least Personal Savings of any Country in the Industrialized World" award. Because you know what those dollars are worth now? Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nothing! Maybe kicking the greenback dollar under the couch is just the neo- cons idea of how to squelch our looming Social Security crisis. Make the dollar worth so little, that in the future, any one of us will be able to cover the entire shortfall by digging into our own wallets. "$30 trillion? Is that all you're worried about? Why didn't you say so? Who here can break a quadrillion?"

Who cares?

Who cares about the falling dollar? Black Friday was apparently a great hit. Britaney Spears and other celebrities are still in the news. The "Today Show" is not only cooking up a storm, but they are screaming, laughing their heads off.

Do you really think that people buying up a storm at Walmart care about the falling dollar?

You see, people who are too poor have no idea about the falling dollar, and people who are rich don't worry either, they have so much dough stuffed away that they can outlive any silly falling dollar.

So I ask you, who is the falling dollar going to hurt? It is certainly not Bush and Cheney and the neocons. It is not going to hurt Oprah, all the football players, celebreties and other polititians. That leaves the poor suckers on the bottom of the pit and they don;t even know what you are talking about.

There is a silver lining for some of us

I have really enjoyed selling my old professional photography equipment on eBay mostly to Canadians and Aussies. Also currency speculation remains a vital source of smart money. Beats working for a living. Ask George Soros.

Now, those of us with an inside track on the stock market will continue to exploit opportunities to make a killing if they happen to own stock in U.S. corporations that are bought up with Middle Eastern oil money, as the value of the stock virtually explodes.

As for our working middle classes and poor, we have been losing ground for decades now, so what else is new. Most of us have remained ignorant and/or helpless (learned helplessness, perhaps). The corporate media has never kept such a tight grip on rendering the truth so obscured.

In this mega-instance, American's penchant denial has lead to a crisis so great that "management by crisis" will be little more than a bad joke as we go down with the ship.

Many voters fell for Bush and his neo-con pirates and helped him get into office. Even now, few are publicly calling for his impeachment. Well maybe they are, but the media chooses not to publish that sort of truth!

My concern is what will happen when the disadvantaged, unwashed masses simply don't have the resources to survive. Remember, irrational destruction has exploded in this country before, so who'se to say it won't again one of these days. It may just be a matter of when.

How long will our poor, weak, old, chronically ill, as well as diabled veterans survive as the remnants of our "safety new" slips much further? Of course, we can count on illegal aliens to kick in and take care of our most disadvantaged classes, right? At least that's the common AlterNet line, as bleedin heart liberals step over our own needy to put out the welcome mat to "undocumented immigrants". Those needy get a hand and a leg up while our own are cast aside as "losers" perhaps (not worth the time of day.

Already we need some sort of Mother Teresa to help our disabled make it on stipends that are eaten up by 75% going to rent.

The situation is already miserable! And a travesty!

Oh well, at the smart money is on currency speculations, a.k.a., the silver lining. The question is whether they will share the unearned windfalls with those of us who are already on the brink. I doubt it.

I just spent 12 days in Southern France....last time I was there 4 years ago it was almost the opposite of today....in the 12 days I was there the dollar dropped 6 cents. Can you imagine my cafe and pain cost me 6% more the day I left than when I arrived...thank you Mr. Bush!My question is...is the Euro over valued? The Euros are bitching how expensive their stuff is...and now maybe GM will sell more caddies than BMW's and Lexus's ?

AMERICA! GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE! EVERYTHING MUST GO!

It is not just products, but the whole damn country that's 'way out back in the discount rack. Dubai just bought 6% of CitiCorp, along with a loan to CP at 10% interest. Ten percent! Soon, they'll own the rest of it. (China already owns enough of our I.O.U.'s to sink us if they ever decide to call them in or sell them off – and judging by how they treat our Navy, they don't like us anymore. . .)

A few years from now, fewer than we think, America will be wholly owned by foreign corporations and/or nations; then we truly WILL be a banana republic – minus the "republic" part.

History will remember George W. Bush as the worst president of all time, and worse yet: as the destroyer of nations – starting with his own. His legacy, already assured, will be form of thoughtless evil almost biblical in its scope and intensity. And for putting him in office – twice – too many of us will be remembered for a celebrity-addled, corn pone brainlessness almost biblical in its ignorance and stupidity.

watching this large group of Australian women buying up everything in sight. Cowgirl hats, tirquoise jewlery, cowboy boots...must be nice to be rich I thought.

So I asked them what they did. Waitress's on vacation! For a month! Just thought they would hop around the world to visit Nevada. Meanwhile we Americans can't even get medical coverage.

Something wrong going on around here.....

Hello world

About four years ago, on an October vacation in Arizona, I stopped by Sunset Crater National Monument. There were only two other people that morning, A German couple. On vacations in other western states, I've met French, German, ,Japanese, and British people on vacation here. It's not a new phenomenon - Euopeans and the Japanese have been coming here for many years. Their pay is higher and their vacation time is much more than ours. US workers are lucky to get two weeks - some workers get no vacations. Euopeans get up to six weeks vacation. So instead of listening to the corporate media message that "we are the best," find out for yourselves! The people living in the rest of the industrialized world REALLY ARE BETTER OFF than we are!

And even loner than that.
Such as: This is July 2006
a year ago US is going bankrupt.

And now this: Nov.30 2007
we're on a highway to hell, we are in a full gainer!

There are many other confirming sources.

Well we all get a free ticket to ride.

But have you noticed the media, the congress and of course the "jerk", never disclose their utter failures to make American "safe and Secure" I'm talk ecomonically. Homeland security is a cover-up title to hide the truth not make us safe and secure.

Right now as we speak the congress is really shaking in their shoes, for they know that their neglegents to act to secure or country from the poorest business management group ever to take control of any corporate modeled activity has literally put the country in the worst financial crisis in the history of the world.

This is why they don't impeach. Because the trail of irresposibility is a long and deep trench they have all dug themselves into. So the lies and distraction to the inevitable sad future of the American experiment is all by over. And no one is accountable!

9 trillion in debt! that's 9 x10 to the 12th power. WE NEED TO USE SCIENTIFIC NOTATION JUST TO GET CLOSE TO WRITTING THE NUMBER.

I mean the sun is only 93 million miles away; just 1 trillion is 907 million more than that. 1 trillion is a thousand million. so we're talking about an unconceivable number to understand. I hope you don't believe tehy actually do

So just point your little index figer to the sky , make a nice little circle move of your arm and say ,"La de da, de da". Because we're on an elevator to hell ......going down!

Big plenty of Ice
