Sgt. Matthis Chiroux, who served in the US Army for five years, publicly refused to deploy to Iraq over a month ago. Now Matthis has set himself up for possible prosecution by failing to report for active duty with his unit in South Carolina. If he is prosecuted in court, Sgt. Chiroux faces a range of possible punishments that include jail time, or even the Death Penalty. Amy Goodman sits down to talk with this brave young man.

The second half of Amy Goodman's interview is below:

Michael Moore Dares to Ask: What's So Heroic About Being Shot Down While Bombing Innocent Civilians?
Like Iraq, Vietnam was not a noble cause. It's time we stopped letting politicians and the press perpetuate the McCain War Hero myth.

The left won the Iraq debate. Period.

DOJ Preparing to Charge Six Blackwater Guards in Nisour Square Massacre
Indictments for the killing of 17 Iraqis would likely be sought under the Military Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Act, which would be unprecedented.

This man had more to say about a bacteria that was spreading through the military hospitals. It was interesting. Watch the entire interview.

TWO illegal American invasions

The invasion of Afghanistan was based on as many lies as Iraq and is as illegal as Iraq. The idea that Afghanistan, possibly the world’s poorest nation was a threat to the US is obviously absurd. It’s common knowledge at this point that US officials tried to broker deals with the Taliban and only planned invasion after the Taliban refused to allow American pipelines in Afghanistan but before September 11th 2001.

While not commenting on this persons decision - he will do jail time for sure - America doesn't execute deserters.

I cannot see how he is labeled a hero???. Please.. that is reserved for those fighting over in Iraq/Afghanistan. This person is just following whatever conflict he has inside him!. nothing heroic about it!
