Can we impeach now, please?

WASHINGTON - The Army is accustomed to protecting classified information. But when it comes to the planning for the Iraq war, even an unclassified assessment can acquire the status of a state secret.

That is what happened to a detailed study of the planning for postwar Iraq prepared for the Army by the RAND Corporation, a federally financed center that conducts research for the military.

After 18 months of research, RAND submitted a report in the summer of 2005 called "Rebuilding Iraq." RAND researchers provided an unclassified version of the report along with a secret one, hoping that its publication would contribute to the public debate on how to prepare for future conflicts.

But the study's wide-ranging critique of the White House, the Defense Department and other government agencies was a concern for Army generals, and the Army has sought to keep the report under lock and key.

The entire article is devasting. How we don't end up with a high crimes and misdemeanors court is beyond me.

The second Bush administration has been a lie ever since it became a gleam in poppy's eye.
If the truth had come out W would be toast. The gullible media dutifully repeated each Rove lie as it rolled off his tongue while Georgie strutted like Mussolini with a bad toupee and spouted terrorism.
As the old protest song went when will we ever learn?

Military planners were threatened with 'firing'

Depraved Indifference versus 'Support the Troops'
.
It is well documented that the State Department prepared a post Iraq invasion plan that pointed out the likelihood of Sunni on Shia civil strife/slaughter. And now George Tenet painfully divulges that the CIA had a written inteligence section outlining and warning of the likely sectarian carnage. These documents were either shelved and ignored or appended to the tail end of the rigged, or politically "fixed", intelligence that made the positive case for war; the positive case that the administration demanded.
The Military general staff was forbidden on pain of being fired from preparing a full G-4 or post-invasion plan which would with 100% certainty have warned of this civil slaughter danger. Political expediency demanded that our Marines, our Army and our Navy front line warriors be sent into battle unprepared.
There is a crime in this duplicitous action to send human targets into battle but hide the known consequences to meet political ends.
This action ended up causing thousands of deaths and injuries to purposefully unprepared U.S. troops. This crime is called 'Depraved Indifference.'
All mankind now knows that Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld organized a propaganda network which cherry picked intelligence to deliberately deceive the American public. (That somebody from this large organized propaganda cabal, in this case Cheney's Chief of Staff, was eventually convicted of felonious behavior should not be surprising. But those who support a Scooter pardon should be made to publicly declare that they are in essence declaring that they support, then and now, the propaganda program that lied American and Iraqi citizens into this spiraling deathtrap called Iraq. But I digress.)
Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld et al not only cherry picked false fear-based intelligence that led to this conflagration they also deliberately buried the the dangers that our troops would face. They put the troops in harms way.
Plenty of documentation exists that the neocon cabal purposely chose not to 'Support our Troops' by providing the normal and required prewar planning.
Had the political agenda of the neocon cabal been made subservient to proper war planning, thousands of our troops and tens of thousands of Iraqis would not now be dead or maimed.
This depraved indifference should have its day in court.

This Whole Administration is based on Lies

More so then most this administration has been built on nothing but one lie after another from day one. The first lie was when Bush swore to Obey and Defend the Constitution. Next day or soon after they were drawing up plans to invade Iraq. Then comes 911 and the continuing Cover-Up. Just look back at the long history of the nightmare we call these past 8 years. America is almost ready to fall financially; maybe that's our punishment for allowing this would be dictator, along with his propaganda machine, the MSM, to consistantly make fools of us. Someone once said,"That which is about to fall deserves to be pushed". May God help America.

If we are going to impeach, lets make sure that we impeach everybody involved.

We all know that Bushco lied to us. But we forget Hillary Clinton's lies. Remember that Hillary made the same claims that Bush did.

Although most of Congress can use the "Bush had us fooled" excuse, Senator Clinton can NOT.

If you go back to her floor speech, you'll read her claims that she KNEW that Bush was right, because she had been following it from over a decade, including her time in the White House. This is the same time she is now touting as "Presidential experience".

Only Bush and Cheney were more Hawkish than Hillary on the war, and they all claimed that it was information they had first hand from the White House.

Lets get ALL of these war criminals behind bars, and take back our country!!!

Article 1 Section 2 of The United States Constitution states that, “The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.”

Article 1, Section 3 states that, “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.”

Article 2, Section 4, states that, “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

One would think that the even the dumbest legislator in the U. S. House of Representatives would know by now that President Bush, Vice President Cheney and other high officials in the present administration have committed high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Duh!

As a U. S. representative, each of these representatives took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Any Representative who does not at least vote to hold impeachment hearings on Bush and Cheney will be violating his/her oath of office big time!

When will people start to understand that America was formed by the most skilled of Public Relations, and today it has boondoggled into what some claim to be a government of the best honed marketing skills in the world. So what is in the Box, really ! Rumour has it there is nothing in there, some people see rainbows above the box, most pray and think apple pie.

Bush is now getting ready to execute 6 prisoners he claims are responsible for 9-11.
Please PLEASE can't we impeach this man now.
What the hell are we waiting for? Does he have to kill everybody in Iraq and Afghanistan and claim a momentous victory before we can bring ourselves to charge HIM and Cheney with war crimes. With all the new releases of evidence of his negligence (or worse), if Congress refuses to act (although it didn't take much for them to do it to Clinton), they should all be thrown out and let citizens' justice prevail.
Yeah, I'm mad as hell. He's going to get away with it and take off for Paraguay with all the millions he's tucked away on other people's blood. Tell Nancy Pelosi to do her job.

It's not just this latest report that the Army hid the facts about 9-11. As long ago as 2004 Harpers magazine published an article showing that the 9-11 Commission KNEW that Bush sat in front of them and lied to them, and they decided that the fact the president had flat-faced lied to them must never be known by the American people - because it would, in their own words, "rend the social and political fabric of the nation." No one got excited by this, and nobody will now. And the fabric has been well and indecently shredded and nothing is done. P.S. I have a copy of the article in my file.

HOW TO IMPEACH NOW

YES! WE CAN IMPEACH NOW! HERE'S HOW:

Last week when Attorney General Michael Mukasey was asked point blank by House Judiciary Committee Chair John Conyers if he was ready to start a criminal investigation of the use of waterboarding by the CIA, Mukasey's response was unequivocal: "No, I am not."

In a further exchange with the committee, Mukasey said he would not investigate the Bush Administration's use of illegal warrantless wiretapping. He also said he would not enforce Contempt of Congress citations served against the Bush Administration.

When the nation's top law enforcement officer refuses to investigate possibly criminal acts by the Administration, when the President signs bills into law with provisos attached saying he won't abide by the part of the law that he doesn't like, when the President and his advisors are in contempt of Congress, what can Congress do? Congress can launch IMPEACHMENT proceedings.

After Mukasey's appearance, two members of CODEPINK met with Conyers to press the case for Impeachment. He told them there was fear among the Democratic leadership of political blowback from such a course of action. In response, Leslie Evangeline launched a fast to pressure Conyers into starting impeachment proceedings against Dick Cheney, a man whose approval ratings hover below 20% and whose impeachment would be unlikely to spawn popular sympathy for the Administration.

Won't you support Leslie in her fast by contacting Conyers today to call for impeachment? Tell him that we want our elected representatives to stand up for the Constitution and against a lawless administration. Tell him if he doesn't hold the Administration accountable for its contempt of Congress, the people will feel nothing but CONTEMPT FOR CONGRESS.

You can join Leslie and others in their fast here: http://www.codepinkalert.org/article.php?list=type&type=317

Chairman Conyers needs to hear from us NOW!
Call him at 202-225-5126 or Fax 202-225-0072

If you are able, come join us in DC to deliver your message in person. The CODEPINK House is waiting to welcome you!

We know you are hungry for impeachment too,
Dana, Desiree, Ellen, Farida, Gael, Gayle, Jodie, Leslie, Liz, Manijeh, Medea, Nancy and Rae
