On the Chris Matthews Show yesterday morning, Time magazine Managing Editor Richard Stengel discussed a new Pentagon report that says "1 in 5 American servicemen and women who have been in Iraq are coming back with brain injuries." Stengel called it the "real toll" of the war, adding that "the legacy of that will last all of our lifetimes and it's incalculable."

In total, according to Stengel, "more than 250,000 people" are affected by "mild traumatic brain injuries" sustained in Iraq. Watch it to your right.

According to the Pentagon, some of the soldiers who sustained concussions "do not realize they need treatment." Additionally, they may be sent back to the war zone:

The task force praised work done at Fort Carson, Colo., where soldiers going back to war are screened for brain injury. Surveys there found that about 17 percent of the soldiers returning to war could have a traumatic brain injury.

As recently as 2006, the Pentagon was " refusing to release data on how many soldiers have suffered brain injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan," arguing that "disclosing the results would put the lives of those fighting at risk."

At that time, it was estimated that just 10 percent of combat troops suffered concussions during their tours of duty. Now, in 2008, it's estimated closer to 20 percent.

..of course all the Bushies will be in their gated communities and travel with personal protection so THEY won't suffer the consequences of their rush to war.

The Veterans Administration has been supine too long. They need to stop endorsing the White House party line and publish TRUE statistics about numbers seeking treatment, waiting times, numbers turned away and numbers refused.

We are raising a generation of mentally damaged young people who will act out violently against themselves and others. The blood of every victim will be on the hands of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and the Neocon think tanks that urged war.

I quite agree, the fiscal antics of our executive authority is nothing less than betrayal of loyalty. Remember each state has an executive class of rulers running little fiefdoms, (See CAFR reports for fiscal operations (This gives the basis to understanding how we run the country as a for profit business))

Shifting the social infrastructure of the US to support a war machine for the rich, with neo world ordered policies, is in keeping with the army of legislatures doing the dirty deed and is about to get much worse. You cannot ever deploy a working fully equipped and what was a sovereign professional military army against a civilian population under the guise of war, and expect them to be policemen or politicians engaged with rules that change everyday by the minute.

I really don't think we have anything to worry about at home, as I am sure Blackwater is on standby to replace the official army, guarding what is important and in our best interests, and that ! Of course that would be the system and the rich. I am sure after his tenure, the bushniks and entourage will be happily drinking to our demise from non extradition paraguay, continuing project 'mission accomplished. Sold drawn and quartered for the highest bidder.

BUSH + ISRAEL + SAUDI ARABIA + PENTACON = DEATH-SUFFERING-DESTRUCTION

I LOOVVE this quote by the PENTACON:

"disclosing the results would put the lives of those fighting at risk."

... Brain Injuries? What the Pentacon meant was, "80 times as many US casualties have resulted from a False-War on Iraq than resulted from the False-Flag of 911", and "if the Word got out even the naivest young-blood in the country would avoid signing up". Better to be poor and alive, than making a living and dying for it.

But the Pentacon didn't do this all by their lonesome, it took the PNAC-Cabal years to get everyone into this, and it'll take decades for the rest of us to sort through it.

RICO PNAC and the Bush Cabal!

No one in the entire world is happy with Global Fascism except the Plundering Elite behind it all!
