Funny how the closer we come to the end of the reign of Our Dear Leader and his Merry Gang of Torturers, War Criminals and Assorted Neocon Boobs, the more the Israelis suddenly seem open to the possibility of a cease fire.

Israel said today its Gaza offensive could be "in the final act" as the UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon said a ceasefire was "very close".

The Israeli envoy Amos Gilad arrived in Cairo this morning for the second day in a row to seek clarifications and express Israeli views about the latest Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire. [...]

Today's diplomatic manoeuvres follow reports that Hamas told Egypt, which is brokering the negotiations, that it would agree a year-long renewable ceasefire in Gaza if Israel pulled out its forces within seven days and reopened border crossings immediately.

"Hopefully we're in the final act," said Mark Regev, spokesman for the prime minister, Ehud Olmert, this morning. Briefings by the envoys working in Washington and Cairo could be followed by swift decisions by the security cabinet, he added.

One suspects this was the plan all along. Decapitate and kill as many of Hamas' leaders and followers (and any other Gazans who just happened to get in the way) as possible before President-elect Obama gets rid of the "-elect" after his title this coming Tuesday. I also suspect that no cease fire will be announced until Bush's butt is firmly implanted in the seat of the last helicopter ride he will ever take at tax payer expense. Sadly, I doubt this little war has done anything to improve the long term prospects of peace in the Middle East or improve Israel's security concerns. It has only strengthened the hand of radical Islamic extremists throughout the region, increased anger at Israel among the Arab world at all levels, and weakened the security of our own country and its military forces in the Iraq, Afghanistan and anywhere else they are exposed to possible terrorist attacks.

Israel's recent "security operation" in Gaza (i.e., the IDF's unmitigated mass slaughter of so many Palestinians who live there under Israel's cruel version of Apartheid) has also made it more difficult for Obama and his soon to be Secretary of State Clinton to make headway in the diplomatic efforts they hope to make regarding the Palestinians, Lebanon, Syria and Iran. These atrocities by our "friend and ally" which Bush enabled and encouraged have also soured our relations with important countries in the region such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Consider it Bush's last little "F*** You" to the American people and the World. By permitting Israel to use the vast array of American weaponry in its arsenal to murder so many innocent civilians, Bush has set back any chance of a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue for at least the next several years, if not much, much longer.

Then again Chaos Theory was always BushCo's primary strategery, anyway. This is the true meaning of the term "catastrophic success" which Bush inadvertantly, but accurately used, to describe his policies during his 2004 re-election campaign. He and the Neocons who served in his administration never wanted peace. Chaos and endless wars were always their main goal, for that was the path they believed would best serve American interests. To say their efforts have been an unmitigated disaster is to say too little.

But then this is what Bush has been best at his entire life: blowing shit up. He started with frogs when he was a boy. Then he moved on to taking down entire companies for which he was responsible. Now his career of spreading destruction and misery has reached its apex with his failed wars and policies in the Middle East (with all the attendant death and displacement of millions that they caused), his mismanagement of the world's economy into its greatest collapse since the Great Depression, and the downfall of his own political party which he led from complete dominance to an Epic Fail of unprecedented proportions over these last four years. Few leaders of any nation have ever been so spectacularly wrongheaded, venal, immoral, wicked and incompetent. Failure is simply too limited a word to describe his legacy.

Hopefully, America will never see his like again.

It's not a coincidence that this slaughter may be coming to an end at the same time Bush steps down from the "stage."

It's not a coincidence that there may be a ceasefire right before the Israeli election for Prime Minister.

You know, as an observer from Mexico City I wonder how you USAmericans have gone along so much -bleep!- & nonsense from the NeoCon criminal clique of sociopaths. It is really sad to see how I donated almost each week to the ImpeachBush organization and so little was done. Ah, but Blago's impeachment is almost yesterday's news, so accelerated the action for him was. When will you LIBERAL, JUST, FAIR USAMERICA, the one that presumes to be a democracy, Walk Your Talk? When will you indict, prosecute AND sentence not only Bush but the whole Gang of Four (i.e., Cheney, Rove, Bush, Rumsfeld)??? at least to life in prison. A tiny portion in Gitmo could be preserved for that. You even have the blueprint and plan of action prepared and set up -and how brilliantly- in Vincent Bugliosi's exceedingly fine and timely book, "The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder" Now that's a book all USAmericans should be studying right now, to both demand and take action come Jan. 21st. Mexico is close to collapse, a failed state --and it's all because of what Bush did to us with his "war on drugs model" and locking in NAFTA with SPP (for those not informed, the North-American Security and Prosperity Pact, not known by US/Mexico Congress or Canada's Parliament, less known by the 3 countries' public and trade unions, commanded by Big Corporations/Big Oil. But Mexico is just one more victim, not that important... to you.
Certainly the list of Bush's crimes is longer than anyone cares to know.

The ONLY interests ANY of them were ever "interested in serving" was their OWN pocket books. As you KNOW, weapons trading is a very lucrative business. On top of that, their buds in the Blackwater, KBR and Halliburton crowd got to steal billions of dollars worth of goods, weapons, etc. from the military in Bushco's illegal war and have "The President of the United States" Protect them from prosecution no matter WHAT they did.
Self INTEREST not American INTEREST is all ANY of the NEOCON SCUM EVER CARED ANYTHING ABOUT.

The world community is pressuring the United States to stop arming and giving diplomatic immunity to Israel.
This Israeli bombing of Gaza is inhumane and criminal.
It amounts to Genocide and those responsible ought to be brought before an international criminal court of justice.

The corporate fascist media in the U.S are nothing but Zionist apologists.

The time has come for Israel to STOP once and for all its evil colonial occupation of Palestine.
We have had enough with this domination, this unjust war against the Palestinians.
Israel has engaged in an ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people, and in a outgoing expansion
of their Jewish settlements on Palestinian territories for years now.

Hamas is a consequence of the brutal, abusive and ruthless Israeli occupation.
The Palestinian people and Hamas are simply resisting and fighting for their freedom.
It's a struggle for liberation and self determination.
And for an autonomy and sovereignty that Israel has deny them for way too long now.

As long as Israel continues its heinous crimes against the Palestinians
There will be no "security for Israel" and no peace in the middle east.

We owe it to the Palestinian people to have autonomy over their territories without Israeli intervention,
occupation and control of their borders.

All the Palestinians want is a sovereign Palestinian state or Palestinian territories.
And a peaceful coexistence with Israel.

start telling the truth. If we live long enough, we will learn new awful things about the Bush administration. We now know that Ronald Reagan actually did, as private citizen, conspire with a foreign power against the United States government. He crooked and fixed his way in. Without the Alzheimers defense, he would have spent his last days in jail or in front of a firing squad. When someone starts telling me what a wonderful guy Reagan was, I find I must dismiss this person entirely.

Tunnels are built from Palestine to Isreal. They go under the wall. I would think those tunnels would be too small to handle weapons. If people get through that is a win.

I read that the Kuwaitis had built tunnels into Iraq to steal their oil just over the boarder. That's why Suddam was at the border about to attack Kuwait. He asked the US Ambassador if this was acceptable and she told him to do what was necessary. We would not interfere. When he invaded, we went after him. Desert Storm was a ruse for oil. The Iraqis could see the oil was being stolen by satellite. The trucks were loading up there. President "read my lying lips" Bush I lead that lie of a war.

People don't know the French were helping in Iraq Desert Storm. They refused to help in the second Bush invasion learning their lessons. As usual the Brits lose little and send few. Their economy acts like it broke them when it was globalization of their jobs off shore just like us. For years...the British, French, and US have unsettled that area of the world for Empire. Over twenty years. Afghanistan was invaded or attacked by the French, British, and Russians...all losing their shirts. Now we are.

It's about profit off the weapons not winning in that area of the world. No one wins.

Even now a huge amount of oil is being stolen by the neighboring countries to Iraq. Syria and Jordon has huge numbers of Iraqis in their country now to support. The Americans steal the most oil for their own pockets...billions of gallon a day.

The borders in that area of the world are huge and it is folly to think anyone can control them after these countries have been robbed and destroyed by US.

Rumsfled promised us that the Iraqi invasion would be paid for by their oil. Has not happened but the international oil companies are making record profits. He lied. DA!! Also missing and lied about is the $2.3 Trillion missing from the Pentagon (records destroyed on 911). Rumsfeld was Secretary of Defense on 911.

Missing on 911 is that huge stash of Canadian and American gold from the WTC. One has to wonder why store it there except to steal it. It is believed that the gold was removed by train before the attack.

The WTC was attacked in the past. Our gold reserves at Fort Knox have not been inventoried for over ten years.

Governor Paterson of NY was a "bait and switch" pick for the state. He couldn't get elected because Switzer had the right mandate (investigate 911 and Wall Street). The Switzer story may have been truth or not. In the end he was gone and Paterson ended up as governor. The people of NY should demand he apologize for his hate speech against Arabs, etc.. His religious agenda is Zionist (and not supported by most Jews in America or around the world). He's a leader with a mission not good for NY. Is the media demanding more of Paterson? Nope.

What a mess we have in this country and world since the Bush gang stole power. The globalist goal for Empire is just plain destructive and crazy.

The media is now the "Fourth Front" not the democratic "Forth Estate"...branch of government and oversight. What ever we hear is not the truth. You can take bits and pieces to get the truth. There are so many influences and corruption in that area of the world by the Empires. It could lead to WWIII and enviornmental disaster for the human race. They are already using bad chemicals and biological warfare weapons in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Gaza. Are they crazy?

Well...the old ruling elite, who send our citizens to war and cause people of the area suffering, are in other parts of the world making profits, etc. I call them "couch warriors" or generally known as Neo Con (globalists), etc. Let's just call them crooks, murderers, and liars. World Mafia. Say it media!
