Sarah Palin is not the reformer that she, John McCain, and the GOP are making her out to be. In fact, she once supported one of the biggest pork barrel projects of all time: the now infamous "Bridge to Nowhere." Huffington Post has all the details on Palin's flip-flop. And TPM Muckraker has the truth about Palin's so-called reformist credentials.

Where's the money?

Alaska received $233 million dollars stipulated for that bridge. When they cancelled the project, Sarah Palin took the money and put in in Alaska's piggy bank to do with it what she wants. She refused to answer where it all went, and told people thay had to move on.

This money should get returned to the US Treasury. It's our money, not for an Alaskan block party. It isn't like we can't identify the real owner of the money. If cash falls off a Brinks truck, last that I heard it has to be returned.

Now Palin is going to rebate $1200 to every man woman and child in Alaska. That is $8400 just for the Palins without any additions to the family.

With an extra $230,000,000 largesse, why not give it to them that brung ya? Palin's popularity is high, and that it is understandable when the check comes in the mail.

Doesn't anyone in the Bush adminintration do audits on anything? Just ask for money and do with it what you want, no questions asked?

How does Alaska get to keep two hundred and thirty three million dollars provided by us, the American taxpayer, and how is it that Palin does not not have to answer for it?

The GOP talk a good talk about "welfare mothers" mismanagement of foodstamps, but how bout the $233 million Palin took under her wing? This is a waste of America's money, and disgusting hypocrisy. Is her keeping the money Sarah's hometown version of putting America first?

Bold
Louisianna sure could use two hundred and thirty three million for a few extras.
