Bush has a soft spot for Musharraf, and it shows.

On Sunday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told Fox's Chris Wallace that U.S. asylum for former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf was "not on the table." However, she refused to explicitly rule the option out, insisting that he had been a "good ally." Watch it:

But now that Musharraf has officially stepped down, the Bush administration appears to be increasingly receptive to opening America's doors to the former military leader. State Department spokesman Robert Wood told reporters that Musharraf "has a right to live wherever he wants." AFP reports:

"We haven't been asked to provide him with any asylum or place of residence," State Department spokesman Robert Wood said amid speculations that the former staunch US "war on terror" ally who quit Monday might stay abroad, including in the United States.

"If he chooses to take up residence somewhere, I mean if he were to request that, we would obviously look at it, but it's not an issue that we've been approached with," Wood explained.

I doubt that Bush will provide much support to Mush.
Besides Pinochet, US has a long history of dumping the puppet dictators once they were no longer needed.

Hence, Kissinger's famous words: “It is often dangerous to be an enemy of the United States,” “but to be a friend is fatal.”

Saddam Hussein, Shah of Iran, Noreiga, Marcos, all learnt the lesson hard way.

However, Mush may be lucky as he knows way too much about the real culprits behind the staged 9/11.

He needs to take up residence in Florida, the dumping ground for our past Central American tinhorn stooges, who quickly fled with suitcases of loot.

I listened to a Pakistani lawyer, US resident, son of one of the dismissed Pakistani judges, go on and on about how outrageous it is that Musharref is allowed to resign without being held accountable for his crimes.

So here's an idea -
we give Musharref asylum, beyond the reach of Pakistani law and accountability and Pakistan does the same for GWB, and Cheney and our long list of government criminals.
