Clinton

Looks like Hillary Clinton was the only person on the Top 20 who accepted contributions and voted AGAINST the bill. Now why didn't we go with her instead of Obama?

Clinton's vote was strategic. She first voted 'yea', and after Obama voted 'yea' she switched her vote to 'nay'. Although this story got some coverage in the MSM, it was miniscule.

I will do more research on this, for sure. Interesting to discover that everyone's darling Obama got almost a quarter of a million dollars in contributions from the telecoms before he voted for this horrible bill. It's just one more indication that the would-be emperor has no clothes.

What was not mentioned in this article is that there was no grant of immunity for criminal charges. Let us hope that the Democrats take action as soon as the goons are gone and arrest them on charges of "criminally spying" on US citizens. This includes the telecoms and administration. Note for Big Bubba; just be patient; their sweet asses will be available soon.

How do they plan to slog through all the junk? Keywords? If your subject line has a keyword, does it flag?

Come on! Let's have fun with this! Everyone, most especially those who are most likely to be a target, should flood the internet with emails that would disturb the busybodies reading it. For subject lines, make sure you use "terrorist", "christian", "oil", "bush",
"cheney", "Republicans", "ACLU", etc.
Within the body of the text, send each other explicit sex scenes. Can you imagine what those people might think of a slash (homo-erotica, generally man/man) story? Or an indepth discussion of used feminine hygene products?

Of course, this won't stop this Soviet-style tactic, but I have found--being on the receiving end--that passive aggressive attack is sometimes a much bigger thorn and actually harder to fight than full frontal assault.

As I've said before, I think Bush informed us of his plans long before this but people took it as a joke. His comment about being dictator and then addressing his Cabinet as members of the Politboro. Politboro, indeed. Folks, I believe we have arrived.

Invest in America: buy a politician

Unfortunately, most politicians come with a price tag that is too high for an average Joe or Jane. Obviously, telecoms can afford many politicians.

What can average Joe and Jane do?

Vote the bastards out of office.

Will they do it?

Nah, we the sheeple would not do such thing. We the sheeple consistently hired wolves to watch our herds. We the sheeple will put foxes in charge of hen houses, too. Bravi tutti, congrats to the sheeple. We the sheeple have been sawing the branch we were sitting on even before Ronnie RayGun snuck into the White House.

The branch is about cut off. Hear it creaking? Feel it shaking? Did I mention that the tree growing the branch is close to an abyss? And the said branch will fall down, down, down to the very bottom.

From where there's no return.

Obama may have gotten a large chunk of telecom money, but did you notice the measley pittance (aprox. $8500) the others took? I thought the price for a vote was much higher.

It seems whichever the party, the same government. I think lobbying and donations should be banned on grounds of conflict of interest and commodification of the political representation process. As for Obama, what's another disgrace added to his recent track record of shame.

Reasonable people can disagree on any issue. On what happens in the upcoming presidential election, however, most of us agree. Calm the outrage and listen to Obama's explanation of his vote on the FISA bill, and the context in which he made it. We have what we need in this candidate.

These are the traitors to the Democratic party and to the United States of America, that have sided with allowing the Bush pirates
to carry on their fascist reign, undermining the The Constitution of the United States.

These are only those that backed the FISA Amendment that allows the Government to continue it’s domestic spying operations.
