Rev. Jesse Jackson made what he later described as "crude and hurtful" remarks about Barack Obama while on the set of Fox News on July 6th. Jackson thought he was talking in private, failing to realize that his microphone was live.

Bill O'Reilly later showed the footage on The O'Reilly Factor, prompting Jackson to make an immediate apology to Obama and his campaign. Jackson also restated his commitment to Obama's presidential bid, saying "I have supported Barack's campaign with passion from the very beginning."

Rachel Maddow plays the clips from O'Reilly's show as well as Jackson's apology. Maddow also discusses what this means for Rev. Jesse Jackson and Obama with former communications director for the John Edwards campaign, Chris Kofinis.

Digg!

Is that how you talked around Dr. King? Oh, well, I suppose emasculation is a large part of what religions are all about so you're just being true to your "calling".

You reap what you saw when you spread racial bigotry and division

Rev Jackson has made his career by spreading racial division, keeping African Americans subjugated and totally dependent on government support.

i can understand that when a politician, an African American at that speaks out against this policies of racial division, not taking responsibility and always blaming the society you say what you think.

I think that Barrack Obama did not come one day to late. I hope that the days of black leadership as displayed by Rev Jackson and the terrible Rev Sharpton is over for good.

African Americans need new leadership focusing on teh values that made america great. Hard work, personla responsiblity and an opportunity for all.

I think what Barack Obama is saying "The Buck Stops Here". If there is no change from within, there will be little help from outside.

Barack Obama will as I hope bridge the gap between lip service liberals to racial dividers. He will bridge the gap to get blue collar America on the real integration, not integration in name only. He has to fight the bleeding heart limousine liberals and the racila bigots on both sides. If he is elected president I think he can but Reverends Jackson and Sharpton has to go. They are not one iota better than Rev Wright.

Jesse Jackson's comments about cutting Obama's nuts off were "crude and hurtful"?

Well, crude, maybe, maybe not.

But hurtful?

YES!!!!

Ha! (Legs crossed...)

(Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

...babbles ignorance.

Was there any doubt Jackson is a fool and a buffoon in it only for his personal aggrandizement and profit?

Maybe not anymore?

People have long since ceased listening to the great pretender to the King Legacy. What difference does it make what he says?

I will give Jackson a pass on this comment. In the past, he has made other comments that I was more uncomfortable with. I did not like the assertions Obama made within a black chruch about black fathers. It is my thought, a moral leader, Obama will never be.

First of all, Ms MsNBC reporter, it is the prostate in the male that regulates emasculization, not the testicles. Secondly, it seems a moniker of an advancing force, from a justly ordained incurrsion, has shown more of its potentiality. After years of abusing social morays, and bitter antagonistic reprisal, finally, a glimpse of in-fighting and healthy bantering amongst the adversaries of the status quo has emerged. Well done, Mr. Jackson, there is a place in politics for everyone.

Obama wasn't "talking down to black people." He was chiding absent fathers, as he knows first hand what it's like to grow up without a father. Poverty persists (regardless of color) when fathers are allowed to evade responsibility for their offspring. Would Jackson prefer McCain as president?

...but he has already had a progressive lobotomy, so he would not know what to do with them anyway now that he is essentially a Repuke in Democrapic clothing.

Vote third party this time.
