Uncovering the secret code hidden inside the year's best movie. Now, I don't expect this type of movie (or any movie) to cover every sociopolitical issue comprehensively—but I did find it interesting how it approached environmental issues in a way that basically left class and race off the table. Race and class are so often left off the table when the environment is discussed.

Speaking of conspiracies in futuristic movies.

Ever notice how in Minority Report that there very were few if any people of color living in DC which had a 55% black population

What are you trying to say Mr. Spielberg, that with being able to predict crime, one was able to remove the majority of people of color from the city?

It is all so simple. I haven't made any perchases at all at WalMart in years. If you have concerns, you are encouraged to do likewise. To complain and continue to make purchases makes your complaint silly pointless words.

I'm actually a little pissed that more isn't being made out of this in the mainstream press. It will be funny if WAL MART now Walmart* refuses to carry WALL-E the DVD when it comes out.

As for the scale questions, you have to remember Pixar is trying to brainwash back a generation that has been brainwashed in the first place. They had to KISS. In the begining of the movie there were ships leaving every couple of minutes, at the end only one returned after 700 years. Not too unreasonable to me.

I see all of this as an epoch war though. I do still shop at Walmart myself when I want a DVD or Cherios. They're way cheaper and saves my money for shoes from the Foot Locker. I like Walmart. I like it a lot.
