Free Press has put together a terrific highlight reel of the media fallout from O'Reilly sending his spies to the National Conference for Media Reform. I'm not sure what my favorite part is: Robert Greenwald calling out FOX's camera crew; O'Reilly calling us "fascists" who do harm to this country; Bill Moyers sticking it to O'Reilly's crony Porter Berry; or Keith Olbermann quoting LL Cool J to O'Reilly, "Listen to the way I slay your crew."

What's your highlight?

And O'Reilly, unfortunately, is probably still alive. There's no justice.

The softballs that he lobbed to Dubya and Cheney were, sadly, part of the American media's complicity in the Iraq Disaster.

Isn't that what Cheney's office said about "Meet the Press"?

... the news that no one else will give and a different perspective. I was shocked at the high level of intelligence I found in some of the people who rely soley on his program and Faux news in general for their information.

I tried to point out why its not "news" or "journalism", but they just don't believe me. Its that they want the "TRUTH" to be the way they want it to be and Bill Reilly gives them that as does fox. I even pointed out that Roger Ailes is the CEO of Fox News and he was a political operative who managed Bush Sr's campaign for President, they still didn't care.

"The voluntary slave is more dispicable than the tyrant". Thomas Jefferson

"The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all." John F. Kennedy

But here is the most frightening of them all:

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." --Joseph Goebbels

They looked like they were watching a naked clown juggling fireballs in a ring full of gasoline.

Don't worry. O'Reilly is going to go the way of Coulter, Carlson, Limbaugh and the rest of the shit-peddlers. Some of them have hit the skids already, some of them are going to explode, and some, like O'Reilly, have to be counting the days.
