FOX’s objective is clear: carpet bomb Barack Obama with negative stories, distortions, and smears before the Pennsylvania primary in an attempt to skew the outcome toward the Republicans’ preferred adversary, Hillary Clinton. But did FOX imagine that the “liberal” media would be such willing accomplices?

Check out our latest episode of the gameshow sensation that’s sweeping the nation — THE FOX IS WRONG: OBAMA! Play along as FOX guests and personalities distort and misrepresent the statements of Obama and those around him, only to have that pesky “liberal” media pick up the smears and keep on running! For the finale, watch in wonder and amazement as ABC’s George Stephanopoulos allows Sean Hannity to actually spoon-feed him a question on Hannity’s radio show, then parrots it almost word-for-word a day later during ABC’s infamous Democratic debate in Pennsylvania!

For an added bonus, check out our last video to see what nine minutes of FOX on Obama looks like (don’t worry, the video is just 54 seconds). There you can get a small taste of FOX’s strategy to saturate their viewers with as many negative Obama stories as a cable line can carry — FOX spews more Obama smears in nine minutes than most networks deliver all day! And remember, this is just a summary of NINE MINUTES on FOX — there are 1,440 minutes every day...

Watch the videos, sign the petition, and fasten your seatbelts — we’ve got a crazy few months ahead, and the media won’t reform itself…

I started off this campaign as an Edwards supporter and was frankly luke warm towards Obama. However, it is becoming more and more obvious that the corporate media views Obama as a threat to corporate power. Oddly enough I have warmed consderably towards Obama and am now a full fledged supporter.

ps: Does anyone still watch Fox news or its subsidiary, ABC?

I have been living without cable television for about five years now because I was spending way too much time screaming at the television because of the logical fallacies and propaganda spewing from the cable news organizations. If we are serious about taking back and creating a better America, perhaps the first step we need to take is to tune out and turn off.

I do not think it is coincidence that America began becoming more conservative at the same time that cable television became widely available. Personally, I can't divorce Ronald Reagan from MTV. There was life before cable, and there is life after it. True, there is some great programming, but nearly all of it is available on DVD that doesn't require a cable subscription. Quit feeding the beast and cancel your cable.

There are a few other things we can do, acknowledging that most won't want to cancel their cable subscriptions. You can purchase a universal remote control that will fit on your keychain for about $20 online. I purchased one not so long ago and whenever I see Fox news broadcasting on a television in a public space, I very stealthily turn it off. It is an inexpensive and subtle way to make a political statement that also feels very empowering.

Finally, if we're serious about making changes, then we need to focus not just on Fox news, but all news organizations. However, Fox is a good place to start.

How about a two pronged approach? Writing letters and posting videos pointing out their propaganda and distortions is important and needs to continue, but will only take us so far. We need to be serious and attack them in a way that will get their attention - namely their bottom line. All cable news organizations, like any other cable television network, is funded mostly through advertising dollars. Fox doesn't get its money through viewship, it gets it from advertising dollars. So, we need to focus on that as well. Organize boycotts of advertisers. Historically speaking, boycotts work. I can think of several instances where pressure on advertisers has led to them withdrawing funding for programming.

Hi,
This video was terrifically effective, I feel. It is a wonderful counter-point to the ignominious clap-trap and out and out racism of the American media.

Keep up the video viral goodness! :)

Patriotism is

There is an OLD quote that patriotism is the last refuge of Scoundrels and nothing better illustrates that than this Administration .
I find it is infuriating that the idea of your love of country is determined by wearing a pin made in China . Of course we have the wonderful example of Cheney whose patriotism was reflected in his FIVE deferements and his comment that he had other things to do than serve in Vietnam . Bush as we all know managed to use political influence to get into the Texas Air National Guard and failed to complete his tour . He was trained at Taxpayer expnse to be a pilot by lost his flight status by refusing to take a physical . These are the Republican Patriots .
On the Democratic side we find out that even having lost 3 limbs in the service of your country is not patriotic enough . Neither is having won both the Bronze and Silver star .

That's because all the networks are owned by the same interests!

CNN is Time Warner, TWX

ABC is DISNEY, DIS

NBC is General Electric, GE

FOX is NewsCorp, NWS.A

CBS is now Viacom-CBS (fake split)

That's your big five television system.

Shareholders? Let's compare the most "liberal" propaganda network (CNN) to the most "conservative" propaganda network (FOX), just looking at the top 10 institutional shareholders:

TimeWarner (CNN)

DODGE & COX INC
Capital Research Global Investors
Barclays Global Investors UK Holdings Ltd
Fidelity FMR LLC
FRANKLIN RESOURCES INC
STATE STREET CORPORATION
AXA
VANGUARD GROUP INC. (THE)
MORGAN STANLEY
GOLDMAN SACHS GROUP INC

Together, these holders account for $18 billion of Time Warner shares (a $53 billion corporation).

NewsCorp (FOX)

FRANKLIN RESOURCES INC.
Capital World Investors.
DAVIS SELECTED ADVISERS LP.
Barclays Global Investors UK Holdings Ltd.
STATE STREET CORPORATION.
VANGUARD GROUP INC. (THE).
NEUBERGER BERMAN LLC.
Capital Research Global Investors.
Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.
DODGE & COX INC

Together, these holders account for $21 billion of NewsCorp shares. (a $58 billion corporation)

Conclusion? CNN feeds propaganda to the "liberal demographic", while FOX feeds propaganda to the "conservative democratic". And, as this post happily shows, they all sing the same song when asked (told?) to by their owners.

that the obama quote is BAD???
he's talking about invading a soverign nation based on US intelligence...
that is called a pre-emptive strike ladies and gentlemen. that is what bush did when he invaded afghanistan.

i feel like my head is gonna explode. i wanna like obama, and i'm really not happy about the obvious politicking of clinton (lying about snipers in bosnia is childish, but also reflects a basic dishonesty), but i can't.

on one hand he is talking about change, and on the other he is re-itereating bush doctrine, on one hand he is meeting with the weathermen, on the other hand he is offering unwaivering support of the apartied regieme in israel that now allows less calories a day for gazans, than the porrest countries in africa.

he is a shill...

American TV news is pathetically bad. A more effective propaganda machine than Goebbels dreamed of or anything Pravda spit out.

I worked for years in local TV news. In the old days, management actually promoted journalism, but as the years went by, management changed from locally owned to a big national corporation and they actually scorned journalism. They made us do nothing but gimmicks. Public relations agencies supply so much news shown at the local level it is unreal.

I've been doing some political comedy videos and posting them on you tube and other places. Some are on my video production tips blog which has a link below. My two personal favorites are the ones where I make fun of Hillary for her Bosnia lie and another where I ask Bill O'Reilly why he needs to use a loofah. Go check them out and pass them around!

Afghanistan to build a natural gas pipeline. Funny thing is, No country has successfully invaded Afghanistan. Ask the British and Russians how much fun they had there. Rudyard Kipling wrote a poem about it:
"When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains, and the women come out to cut up what remains, jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains and go to your gawd like a soldier."

Taliban shoulda given our companies contracts when they visited Bush in Texas. wha wha. It's all about peak oil, that's why we're in the Canadian tar sands. The military conflicts now are ice cream social compared to what will happen if we don't dramatically change our lifestyles. It's true, when you buy oil, we need to have access to oil. When you charge things on your credit and can't pay them off, the banks borrow money from China. When you owe 1.4 trillion (grows by 1 billion a day) to China, you're not gonna complain to them about what they're doing to a tiny country who's flag looks great on a t-shirt made by an overworked 12 year old.

As we all so gallantly proclaim the hope and change any of these candidates will bring, let us remind ourselves of the realities of these wars that have continued as they have all sat in Congress. They're all making money off it, and will continue doing so. The only imaginary levee holding back our economic fate is our war spending, and it can't hold forever. Reality fellow Americans, see you there.

What a tragically absurd reversal of the truth

Your piece has it precisely wrong. In fact, by appearing to trash Obama, FOX sought, with painful obviousness, to have the opposite effect to the one you're assuming here. They wished desperately to "promote" Obama, and to increase his vote among democrats. When your article asks if FOX thought "liberal media would be willing accomplices," you, by the very asking of such a question, confirm this assessment. Of course they thought you'd be willing accomplices, but in the opposite direction than the one you're presenting here. Or did you not think them clever or unscrupulous enough to do what I'm suggesting? Does it seem odd to you that FOX would act to promote Obama? It wouldn't, if you thought he would be easier prey for McCain in November. If not, why would they be so up front in their savaging of his candidacy? You're acting as if Obama were already in the presidency. But, in fact, he's still seeking it? I wonder why, in view of this, would FOX be working so hard to get him nominated? If they truly opposed him, wouldn't FOX, of all channels, be vastly more subtle, or appear to take a neutral position, in advance of his hot pursuit of the nomination? Or, in fact, wouldn't they appear to be promoting him? Which FOX scam would work best in the mind of the average democrat? What will the typical democrat's view be? "If FOX dislikes Obama, doesn't that mean I, as a good liberal, should vote for Obama?" Of course that would be the mindset of the average democrat. In fact, it makes me a bit suspicious that you don't appear to even take this view, into account. I wonder why?

the break room in my workplace is literally always on FOX. The TV is way up near the ceiling and the channel cannot be changed. Literally every time I go on break, FOX is running bullshit stories about Obama and nothing else. You would think he is the 666 beast. The scary thing is that people are dumb enough to actually believe this BS. A coworker who calls herself a Democrat told me she is not voting for Obama because he won't wear a flag pin. The frustrating thing is that her vote is going to cancel out my vote.

FOX "NEWS"?

Fox "news" is not news it's just entertainment with a news spin. Jon Stewart and the Daily Show has a more rep news department than these a-holes.
"News" programs have become just entertainment for me now and thank god for the internet not saying that the internet news agencies always get it right but you can get a broader and a more detailed picture and formulate your own conclusions on what is happening in the world. All I see on network and cable/satellite programs is a bunch of talking heads and the only talking heads I want to hear is the punk rock band that sang Once In A Life Time and Psycho Killer(Talking Heads one of the greatest bands, ever). For me Fox "news" is no different than Hard Copy or the Star Magazine which Rupert
M. invented because I guess he hates the real news and covering it is just not that interesting to him.
