The Attack of Racially Charged Republican Attack Ads
Max Blumenthal Al Jazeera

On Monday, I told you about the Obama carpet-bombing campaign FOX has initiated. Their plan is clear: saturate their network with constant negative stories about Obama by mangling and spinning his fairly benign comment about rural voters or demonizing Obama’s former minister, hoping that enough of them will stick to sufficiently cripple Obama’s chances in this Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary.

Their ultimate goal is to help Hillary Clinton win big enough in PA so she can make the argument to superdelegates that she should be the democratic nominee, even though she has no chance of beating Obama in pledged delegates. FOX and the Republicans want Clinton to be the nominee because they think John McCain has a better chance of beating her than Obama (though I don’t think McCain could beat either).

So here’s a short teaser to give you an idea of how bad it really is on FOX. All of these clips were taken from the first NINE MINUTES (before the first commercial break) of the Monday April 14, 2008 episode of Your World w/ Neil Cavuto, which purports to be a business show. And more stories followed, including Cavuto paraphrasing neocon William Kristol’s scurrilous New York Times op-ed (published the same day) that Obama sounds “very Karl Marxie,” then attributing the sentiment to an unnamed Democrat.

This is what just nine minutes of FOX looks like. There are 1,440 minutes in a day, and over 8,640 minutes until the Pennsylvania primary this Tuesday. And this is only going to get worse as Tuesday nears. There’s more about FOX’s April 14 coverage here, here, and here. FOX also attacked Hillary a bit, since while they want her to win the nomination, it’s only so she can lose the presidency.

I think FOX, Republicans, and Clinton see this as the final gambit. FOX and the Repubs know McCain can’t beat Obama, and Hillary knows that unless she scores a massive +20 victory in PA, her arguments for staying in the race will look more and more disingenuous. Unless Obama gets totally clobbered in PA, he’ll probably go on to win the nomination and, eventually, the presidency. Neither FOX, Republicans, nor Clinton want this to happen, so they’re giving it everything they’ve got. And the rest of the media, with their shameful coverage of the faux “bitterness controversy” and their inexplicable adoration for McCain, are happy to help.

There needs to be a backlash against this type of politics and reporting. And people like us, who are concerned about politics and the media, should be the ones to start it.

then this is simply the pandering to your already existing small-mindedness.

the news shouldn't tell me what to think or how to feel. fox isn't a news broadcaster but a propaganda machine.

Who is Fox News' audience?

Embarrassment, anger, tired, disgusted, bitter and speechless all discribe the sentiment, mood and feelings of most who are speaking publically about the current sick state of American affairs. Social, Political, Economic. Crazy and srewed up. The rest of the world is feeling the effects of the most powerful nation's abuse of power.

Who is Fox News' audience?

Poor White "conservative value voters" inability to put gas in their cars to make it to Wal-Mart, or go job hunting is not the doings of Rich Black politicians.

Wealthy, un-patriotic Black business owners and board members have not sent American jobs overseas. Haliburton is not Black owned. A Black vice pres. and president have not put us into bankruptcy with Iraq and other drunken blunders.

Who is Fox News' audience?

Fox News is the perfect representative of our STUPID reality. You dance to the music you pay the piper. "Hey Leroy, all White folks ain't created equal?"

No More denial. Vote for President Obama and graduate, or keep encouraging Mr. and Mrs Clinton and McCain and flunk out.

The KKK, Fox News and the reigning Cheney/Bush/Repub/Neocon-federate government are houses that ignorance built. Poor White voters laid the bricks. You built your own tortue chamber. Go on strike - tear it down.

Turn off the TV and radio. (Fox) Skip Church for 30 days. Read or let the best reader in your house read to you the New testament for thirty days.

Trickle down economics has the US. dollar in a race to zero value around the world. Fox News will never tell you this.

No Foxing for 30 days. You will be on the road to Abundance. You de$erve it.

Share this with a poor White conservative.

Fox hawkers aught to be silenced not only ridiculed for their non-stop 'Rovian' rhetoric.

Considering how long its lasted I'm shocked by the lack of complete outrage coming from a home of people supposedly 'brave.' Guess intelligence isn't a part of that attribute.

Even a monkey who can read sign language would not watch FAUX "news!" The monkey is way too intelligent to pay attention to FAUX drivel.

The Fix Is Always In At Foxxxy Fox

I got an email a while back from MoveOn.com excoriating Fox "News" for using sex to sell their version of "news," and a plea for locals to entreat their newspapers against running ads on Fox or for the Fox Cable News Network. I thought, this is America. We use sex to sell everything from cars to drain cleaners. Three quarters of America thinks sex is okay. It makes us feel good for thirty seconds or so. The rest of the population thinks sex is evil, though admittedly necessary. Either way, whether due to nice, fuzzy warm feelings, prurience, or revulsion, it is the ultimate sales tool for selling, television advertising in particular. This is a capitalist, relatively uneducated, free market country. Why wouldn't sex sell? And since it does, why wouldn't it be used endlessly? For everything.

Linking a product, which Fox "News" certainly is, hardly different from, say, dog food, to orgasm in our primitive brains, or, conversely, to instinctive recoil concerning the big "O," or just a bit of second rate titillation, is nothing less than the American way. So what exactly is the big deal? Does MoveOn think that attacking the T&A that Fox provides its repressed viewers will turn any of them around? Fox viewers are bad enough. Take this away from them and who knows what they might be capable of.

Calling the Fox News Channel a "news" disseminator borders on the utterly disingenuous and cowardly. Fox "News" is pure propaganda. Propaganda always is propounded primarlly on a non-verbal, symbolic level, the idea here being, think about being fucked, because you damn sure will be. Can you ever imagine Morton Kondracke in some working class bar with a name like "The Grease Rack" or '"The Pit Stop," elbow to elbow with a bunch of welders and fitters just off from the middle shift? Maybe his two hundred dollar silk tie will go over as big as his theories of free market globalism. One never knows. Biological Darwinism-No. Social Darwinism-Absolutely-the survival of the connected, the lucky, and the devious. O' Reilly's loudly "professed" 'family values would get a bit of a jolt here. Despite the reverence for ignorant group think that exists in places like this, O'Reilly's fake macho, effective only in careerist citadels like network news organizations, would be sniffed out in short order. He just might be in for a serious ass-whipping.

So what's the deal, MoveOn? Accuse Fox for tits and ass? On TeeVee! Goll.....leee, that's akin to to accusing pedophiles of liking little kiddies. The pornography of Fox News lies in its message, not the minor league, adolescent T&A.images. Oh, the hypocrisy of it all! Better we would have upright, truly rather than faux puritanical, honest cheerleaders for mass murder and domination by the wealthy and powermad? Who can forget the Victorians and their outward anathema to all things sexual and their complete willingness to brutalize, rape, and kill the brown people of all four corners of the earth? Do we not remember or know of the superficial outward prudishness of the Fascists? Fatherland, Homeland, Xenophobia, Religious Reaction, Purity of race and womanhood (their women). We do know what they did. This cheap pandering to juvenile sexual fantasy accompanying the twisted lies, distortions, and fear mongering of Fox is not hypocrisy; it is a symptom.

It's amazing!

The Republicans clearly know something that the Democrats are too slow to learn: that Obama WILL beat McCain in the election, and that Hillary CAN'T! That is why they spend so much time and effort trying make Hillary look better to the Dems - because they KNOW they can beat her! FOX News even asked Huckabee recently which Dem HE thought should win - a stupid, inappropriate question. His answer, predictably, was Clinton. These guys already know that she will get NO crossover votes from the right, so naturally the Repugs want her to be the Dems choice. And if that happens - buckle up! We're in for four more years of a Bu$hco Admin fiasco, or God forbid, something even worse...

The Dems had better get it together and back Obama - and FAST! With any luck, Tuesday will end all this and make up the Democratic party's slow-churning mind for them - provided we can convince the media to stop pushing this as a three person race!

Listen, if you think Fox news or any other right wing organization has been for Clinton you are delusional. To date, most media outlets have been very soft on Obama - Hillary has been pummeled by these people for many years - there is not much more they can pull out on her - and if they do, she certainly knows how to respond to them.

Obama is too young and inexperienced to win. People will not vote for him - end of story -

IF FOX WERE THE ONLY PROBLEM, LIFE WOULD BE EASY BUT

the problem extends through out the corporate media. The media is owned by big business. The rules are simple. You think the way I want you to think or you are fired. Moreover, the money to run it comes from advertisers. The advertisers are all big business. If you say anything they don't want said, you are fired.

Its not just Fox. Fox is just the most blatant. There is a vast propaganda machine that far exceeds anything the Soviet Union or Adolf Hitler ever achieved. The purpose of that propaganda machine is to keep you and I docile and well behaved.

We are to keep our peace while a 67% improvement in productivity(since 1980) goes to a tiny minority. The average man's income shrinks. The average man is not powerless.

First we must wrest control of our government from the persons that bought it. There are at least two ways to do that. Make it a crime for any public servant to take any money from anybody else but us. That means pure taxpayer financed political campaigns. Once that happens we go to what Ross Perot so quietly proposed. We need a national initiative petition law. I think we need to be able to make both statute and constutional law. I'd say 51% for statute and 75% for constitutional.

WE HAVE TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK. THIS TIME WE MUST TRY HARDER TO MAKE IT PERMANENT. I'm an old man. I probably won't see it either way. But I sure would like it for the young people.

FOX, CNN ARE SMORGASBORD OF WHITE MALE BIGOTRY

O'Reilly merely used Geraldine Ferraro on his show to use an excuse to keep from discussing an issue--racism--that whites cannot win. Oh, let me not forget, Jews either. Since by the way, both races played intricate parts in the blood that fed and feeds AmeriKKKa, to this day.

All O'Reilly really wants is to keep the issue of racism silent, since it opens up all kinds of doors of Reparations, Blacks depicting whites and Jews on TV/cable, and defusing such things as Blackmen filling white prisons (a billion dollar industry made by Euro-Jews, at the expense of Afrikan-Americans), and white being disgusted with their own ancestors for practicing Ethnocide on the Indians, and kidnapping Afrikans.

Does O'Reilly and his predominantly white staff feel Israelis should not talk negatively about Palestinians? Germans about Semites who killed more than "6 million" of them, after the "holocaust?" Maybe he and his staff even feels like the Native Indians should smoke the peace-pipe and sign treaties (Constitution), again, with the "paleface, white-eye, forked tongue" speakers?
