Witness for the Prostitution

Posted by ZP Heller, AlterNet at 3:10 PM on April 8, 2008.

Things just keep on getting stickier and stickier for Senator David Vitter.

Last year, the Lousiana Republican admitted to having used the D.C. Madam's escort service back in 2001, when Vitter was a member of the House. Well, call it tit for tat, because now the D.C. Madam wants Vitter to testify on her behalf that she was merely running a legitimate fantasy sex service, and not an illicit, high-end prostition ring. According to TPM, the D.C. Madam has apparently subpoenaed Vitter, whose lawyer claims he'll plead the Fifth if forced to testify (if that's what the kids are calling it these days).

First Clinton, then Vitter? At least Clinton had the good sense to be chauffeured.

There should be an immediate, thorough, and expensive investigation, ultimately resulting in political repirmand and Vitter apologizing, again. Maybe even require him writing "I will not do hookers" 100 times on the chalkboard.

I am from Louisiana. New Orleans to be specific. David Vitter is one of the slimier politicians in the state. If you know anything about Louisiana, you will understand the magnitude of this statement.

While the Honorable Congressman and then Senator was toodling around the whorehouses of New Orleans and Washington, he was also castigating liberal America for their laxity in family values. Now he says he's going to work hard for the state. I guess since Diaper Boy Wonder got caught, he's found he has a lot more time on his hands. Things probably not being terribly rosy at home, maybe he will devote more of his energy to doing his fucking job? The only problem with that is, being the Republican phony that he is, he will most like end up using all his newly discovered time doing a job on the citizens of the state and country.
