The Democrats have shown no capacity to get past the Washington GOP's stone walling on multiple instances of corruption and obstruction of justice. Why is a state based case going to be any different?

I think it will be another case of all smoke and no fire as far as Rove is concerned. The best approximation of justice that might come out of this is that some Alabama Republicans might take a tumble. If they lose their nerve, perhaps they will rat out Rove and Co., but before that happens, Mukasey is likely to have the feds step in. That would give the state officials a chance to cop a guilty plea, only to have the acting head of the Bush crime family pardon them in a few months, just before leaving the White House.

Just the same, it is wonderful that Siegelman is free again. Let's hope there are no more dirty tricks to put him back in jail--or worse.

Don't expect anyone to die for you or to be your hero .
Arm yourself with the facts and speak the truth through the widest venues available to you loudly and repeatedly (radio talk shows wher millions listen ?).
Do the work of achieving justice then when political terrorism is punished and not rewarded our legitimately elected representatives will have the expectation of protection for opposing the corporate mafia
and constitutional government once again will reign supreme in this land .

There is sand in the gears of the wheels of justice - they are grinding even slower than usual - but grind they will.

It's gonna take another election to restore DOJ to the American people from it's present position as an instrument of the fascists who have taken control of first the Republican party - then the country.

I wish I had some faith that vengeful Democrats would see that actual justice would be meted out this time. When Nixon and his criminal gang was allowed to wriggle off the hook, then Iran-contReagan, the message was sent that criminal activity for the powerful had no consequences.

So Greenspan, Cheney and dozens of corrupt Nixonians had no fear of stealing elections, shredding the constitution and then stealing the richest country in the history into bankruptcy. They have stolen our freedom and stolen hundreds of thousands of lives.

There will be no retribution; they will lick their wounds and undermine - until they can do it again.

Unless Santa brings me a magic corruption eliminator or the Dems grow some - equally likely propositions, in my book.

Before last Thanksgiving--who ever had heard of Barack Obama? And--did anyone REALLy think that Rove really left the White House last spring?

I mean, bodily he probably did. But actually he was orchestrating this year's Democratic charade. The Repukes were always terrified of Clinton--and a Clinton/Obama ticket would have won hands down in November, plus guaranteeing eight years for Obama as Hillary's VP, looking to see how she brought the prosperity back and ended Bush's lying war--and then eight more years as President Obama--znd the NeoCON curse might well have been gone forever.

But now we have this charade, Democrats divided--and if we let this Rovian clown show continue to divide us, we will deserve just what we will get this November. President McCain--and we'll have done it to ourselves (with a little push from Rove, here & there).

You'd think, after eight years of being screwed out of two elections--you'd think that the Democrats would learn, and unite. You'd think. But that's not Rove's plan, so that's not their plan. Democrats? A bunch of monkeys, like some Repukes say, maybe--but to see Dems seeming to dance to a Republican's tune--even a master manipulator like Karl Rove--that's how McCain'll become president.

Assuming of course that the Democrats would, this time, remember what happened to them from the year 2000 on at the hands of the real enemies of this country that we all grew up in--those enemies being of course, the NeoCONS.

Anybody doubt me, just download and read PNAC--their mantra, "Project for a New American Century." And if that doesn't chill your blood, then nothing else ever will...

But then I look at the letters columns and I see that most of you are as angry as I am. Angry enough to vote for McCain if the Dems let the Repukes screw us out of another Clinton Presidency the way they're doing now. Even Alternet's acting like an msm ragsheet lately, hopping on the Rovian, Only-Obama-For-President, bandwagon. Seemingly impervious to the fact that McCain, without an experienced veteran campaigner like Hillary Clinton to worry about, is licking his chops at the thought of debating the new, untried Barack Obama. You guys out there--you mostly see the same thing as I do. The suits at Alternet--well, now Alter's gone MSM, haven't they...are jumping on the same stupid bandwagon, like they don't know what they're really facing, like they don't have a brain in their heads. Like they're just another bunch of monkeys...

I never thought I'd see the day, but here it is. You people on the boards, though--you always make my day and remind me that it's one thing for "Duh MeedJeeAh" to only run Rove-A-Ganda--but it'll take a lot more than what they've done so far, to subvert the American People out there.

I always cheer the possibility of a Karl Rove comeuppance, but I remain skeptical. He's gotten away with too much - too many influential people owe him big time. But even Nixon got impeached, even the Shah got run out of town. Sometimes there is justice.

Not considering what we let happen to the the last Presidential War Hero candidate to try for the job: John F. Kerry!

Does "Swiftboat" come to mind? Or how the American people stood by with our fingers up our butts while Rove's paid liars cast aspersions on this hero's war service?

That was when I first realized that the last thing the American people want is a War Hero for President, and for sure, nothing's changed since then!

Until the criminal conspiracy perpetrated by Bush/Cheney/Rove/ET AL is addressed by impeachment proceedings America will never find out the truth of what happened since the 2000 Election was stolen, when the decision was made to invade Iraq and why, why Bin Laden is allowed to remain free, why oil prices are more than 300 percent of what they were in 2000, what really happened with the Attorney General firings, who was in Cheney's energy meeting before Enron blew up, and on and on and on.

Impeachment is the one thing for which "executive privilege" cannot be claimed and it is the only method to restore public faith in our government.

But didn't you all know the Administration you were getting when you elected it for a second four year term? After all you had just lived through the first four years. You saw firsthand during the first term what an unethical,immoral,lying,thieving,murderous,
cheating, sociopathic, failure with criminal tendencies that you were asking back to the WhiteHouse. So why act so surprised and disappointed now? Thank you for bringing us up to date on his (and his friends) latest criminal escapade but it doesn't help, not really. All you are doing is airing your dirty laundry, showing the world that the majority of Americans support this kind of disgusting behaviour. They voted for it after all. Twice!
