In this Bush parody, inspired by Musharraf, Bush decides to intervene in the 2008 election on his own behalf. It seems pretty funny but then it dawns on you that Bush would love to do this and stranger things have happened. Yikes. Anyway, check out the video to your right for more.

Digg!

Until January 20, 2009, this is a real possibility.

Beware. Be very aware.

Things like this are harbingers, sometimes.
OH Lord I hope this is not one of them, but I fear that it is.
My partner and me told others in 98 that if W ran for president in 2000 that he would 'win' and it would be a cheat, and that we would be in a war with Iraq and/or Iran within a few years.
I am not Always right, just most of the time. I try to think critically not just with my gut( I would be wrong too often!)

I've had this discussion with my family and they usually just pat me on the head and brush me off as a "conspiracy theorist", but my question is....do we really think that this administration is just going to step aside for the next president? Think about it. Do you see Dick and W handing Obama or Hillary or even McCain the keys to the office? "Here you go, here's all the info we got from our illegal wire taps...we keep them here in this file cabinet. Go ahead President Obama, help yourself, don't worry we covered everything already with those pesky signing statements." Really?? After all the work that went into destroying our constitution and stripping us of our civil liberties, the two of them are just going to walk away? I'm trying not to be paranoid, but just curious how that conversation and transfer will go.

(National Security Presidential Directive NSPD-51

In this document, quickly passed by the republican congress, George Bush gave himself the power to declare ANY incident a National Disaster, declare martial law, suspend government activities, including the election, take control of ALL government agencies from federal, state AND local leaders, and remain in office as long as he wishes. Chertoff would most likely be the one who oversees activities of blackwater employees who will be enforcing martial law. This is for REAL people.
This presidential directive is accompanied by one for Homeland Security.
Look it up.

There are no leaders

The really scary part is that we've already seen that this administration can do whatever it wants.Every few months, we have this sudden round of organizations demanding impeachment (with requests for donations, of course). Each time this administration commits an outrage, sure enough, we aren't going to take it anymore! Since 2004, millions of Americans have signed petitions demanding investigations and/or impeachment. I don't know how many have marched, since such dissent seems to be censored out of the media.

So, if this administration chooses to remain in power, what are we going to do about it? More of what we've done, I suppose. We'll sign our petitions, get our permits and politely march in designated areas, collect donations...

Millions of people actually ARE ready to move forward to take back our government, but any political movement without a leader is like a boat without oars.

I shudder to think of how many people would think this was a good idea. Bush's select group of believers would love it. That includes McCain. So much stuff it being run by us just to get a reaction. Clinton & Obama are both being adversely affected by it. Suddenly they've become racist and sexist. Both campaigns are being derailed. But not by each opponent. The Republicans are stoking the fires and creating problems where there were none. Dems, keep it together! Thanks, ANNA

This is more than parody. I feared the 2004 election would be postponed. It was not necessary as an adequate fix was assured. That makes two stolen elections in a row. I’m sure that the plan and authority are in place. The patriot act and S1957 and H 1955 (I may have the numbers confused) have the necessary basis. Just because this administration has ruined the nation on every level we value doesn’t mean they have failed or are stupid. The reverse is true as they are on target and in control. We have a Fascist nation now and great change is nearly imposable. Bush will do anything to continue his plan to gut our democracy and enrich the few. If the fix of the 08 election does not seem assured and McCain is not to be president the scene presented by the video will be fact. I knew the Vietnam War was a fraud. I have been wrong once since 1968 when the first super lying prick said, “I have a secret plan to end the war” and I voted on that lie. My error since is when I predicted a draft after our invasion of Iraq. I did not have enough information. I did not know of Blackwater and the like. I can promise you they have another purpose other than defending freedom in Iraq. Every time Bush speaks he is lying. The one time he did not may be a Freudian slip of gigantic proportions, “Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”
Am I wrong?
I am not for gun control this is already ugly.
God forgive America.

The Presdient has already given himself this authroity, which allows him to declare a national emergency and stay in power for the good of the country. The saber rattling at Iran is not just saber rattling. The commander of US Forces in the Middle East recently stepped down. Why? Because he disagrees with the President's stance against Iran. Will we attack? Why not? Whats to stop the administration? What will we do? Will we have the courage to strike against those that threaten to lead us down such a dangerous path. This Country was founded on the backs of those who stood against tyranny. Will we have the courage to do the same?

it kind of pissed me off to find that this
article was a spoof. the person who posted
this could have at least specified this in the
title. i ended up calling my dad at work to say
"see, i told you it was going to happen." and
then i clicked on the video while on the phone
only to find out it was parody. i guess it's
kind of funny that i did that and maybe this
incident will reap satisfaction to whomever
posted this video. anyways, like i said,
hopefully this turns out to be another
conspiracy theory by our creative conspirators
in society.

I wrote about this a little while ago.

http://markwayne.livejournal.com/12290.html

Autumn surprise 2008
I can't shake it. The image of Cheney declaring martial law. A dead president. A terrorist act. Suspended elections.

I know. I'm ready for the aluminum foil pyramid hat. Institutional am I.

Why? Why expend great effort and spill tankers of blood, real and political, expanding the power and reach of the executive to a degree in rate and extent heretofore unmatched in American history? Why set about developing the "unitary executive" in practice, minimizing by ignoring the power of congress to legislate through executive signing statements? Why?! If you're just going to let all this power pass to the Democrats on 20 January 2009?

I can't figure it.

I don't think a serious argument can be forged against the notion that the Bush administration has greatly expanded the power of the executive. Signing statements alone gets you there. But then there's (in no particular order) recess appointments, extraordinary rendition, violation of criminal statutes against the ordering and use of torture, warrantless surveillance, and most significant for our AS08 (Autumn Surprise 2008) scenario -- "The National Security and Homeland Security Directive" issued by Bush 09 May 2007.

The ostensible (and incredibly naive given all the Bush administration's givens) reason for this statement's issuance is, according to Mike German, ACLU policy counsel, harmless: “All it does is establish that they should have a policy and coordinate that policy with legislative and judiciary. It doesn’t change the order of succession, or anything like that.” -- as Matt Rothschild quotes in The Progressive. Despite German's nonchalance, Rothschild's uncomfortable. It might have something to do with this wording from the statement:

"Enduring Constitutional Government," or "ECG," means a cooperative effort among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the Federal Government, coordinated by the President, as a matter of comity with respect to the legislative and judicial branches and with proper respect for the constitutional separation of powers among the branches [...]

Basically saying that Bush controls "a cooperative effort" among the three branches. Why? Out of politeness or "comity." He's under no obligation to be bound by the constitutionally mandated powers of the judicial or the executive. But he'll be polite.

This is disturbing. But I think something can be done to stop this. It starts with pushing Rep. Paul's [R-TX] HR 3835 bill through the House Judiciary subcommittee on consitutional affairs where it now languishes. This bill merely reaffirms existing constitutional law. You can sign the American Freedom Campaign's Freedom Pledge. It's worth something, however precious little.

Maybe most effectively, we call for the Congress to pass legislation forbidding the prevention of elections under almost any event -- short of attack by the duly constituted military of another nation. Like Canada. I've got my eye on you Canadians.

It's probably not going to happen -- but why take the chance?

MarkWayne

No need to cancel elections

Any of the three who are running in this "election" are culpable in Bush's war crimes, so any of them would be acceptable to the controlling Bush cabal (who will, of course, remain in power behind the scenes or in other created positions, like Commander and Chief of Homeland Security, and the president simply becomes a figurehead). Clinton, Obama, McCain have rubber stamped Bush down the line, and there's no reason to believe they'd have a problem with that after taking office. The problem with canceling the election is that it might actually wake the sleeping masses who like to think they play some part in the fascists state they've helped create. The same reasoning behind the fact the Bush cabal doesn't draft recruits through the front door. Their supporters might become concerned if their sons and daughters start showing up among the war dead. Which leads me to say this: after this election firmly secures the Bush cabal, conscription will become law. This rogue impire is going to need an awful lot of cannon fodder when the rest of the world comes after it.

If you haven't seen this, go to this link and read for yourselves. There was a private meeting held on Monday AT THE STATE DEPARTMENT, that discussed the "North American integration", consisting of a common perimeter, and merging the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. NO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS ATTENDED. I am virtually CERTAIN that this video is not a "funny" little parody. It is REAL, as real can be.

The title to the article is:

If my memory serves me right, the video portrays a genuine possibility. Several months ago, in one of his quietly submitted Presidential Signing Statements, the course of extending the two-term presidency in case of a state of emergency was invoked as an option.
Before anyone panics or jumps to conspiracies about Yale's Skull and Crossbones, the Council on National Policy, ...., please check Bush's signing statements. I cannot find it yet, and I hope that my memory is only synaptically misfiring....

Keep the faith!

Bush would never make a speech like this. He would just attach the declaration to the next bill that crosses his desk as a signing statement.
