If you find yourself puzzled by who is among that 19% of Americans who continue to doggedly support George W. Bush look no further than the profoundly ignorant Elisabeth Hasselbeck (at one point she says McCain "led the surge in Iraq"). She's one of these people who still gets all self righteous and outraged over the Monica Lewinsky issue but can only muster pathetic exclamations of "everyone believed Iraq had WMD" (possibly the most infuriating, frequently repeated lie of the last few years) when confronted on Bush's great debacle.
Anyway, turn the volume down when watching this clip which you'll either find obnoxious, amusing or both. It aired yesterday, long before the Spitzer scandal broke and it does take on added meaning after that story has unfolded.
Whoopi and the rest of the View panelists try to have a debate over what is the greater sin for a politician: lying about personal indiscretions or lying about a major policy decision, such as going to war. I never thought I'd say it but thank God for Whoopi Goldberg, one of the only voices of sanity in this whole discussion. Check out the video to your right for more.
