McCain's New Buddy: Holocaust Revisionist John Hagee

Posted by Pam Spaulding, Pam's House Blend at 6:18 AM on March 4, 2008.

McCain is "pleased" to have the endorsement of a man who condemns Catholics, gays, women, blacks and more from the pulpit of his 17,000 member church.

And when is Tim Russert going to ask John McCain about some of these beliefs of John Hagee? The Arizona senator said that he was "pleased to have the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee," who condemns Catholics, gays, women, blacks and more from the pulpit at the 17,000-member Cornerstone Church.

This film by Troutfishing of DKos, highlights some of the batsh*t crazy writings of Hagee.

Read the whole well-documented diary. Take a look after the jump at what Hagee has to say about the Holocaust to Max Blumenthal at a Christians United For Israel conference when confronted about his opinion that Jews are to blame for the Holocaust.

The video is full of jaw-dropping interviews with fundies awaiting the Rapture, with a guest appearance by Holy Joe Lieberman.

And from From Right Wing Watch's "The Maverick and the Armageddon Advocate:

Last year, when John McCain's presidential campaign was floundering, we noted that he was making in-roads with fringe right-wing figures like Armageddon advocate John Hagee, who harbors a not-so-secret desire for the US to start a war with Iran in order to bring about the subsequent return of Jesus Christ.

At the time, there didn't seem much to worry about because McCain's campaign appeared dead-in-the-water and though, over the coming months, McCain continued to court Hagee, the pastor appeared content to stick to his rabid theologizing and warnings to the United States.

And how about this tidbit on Hagee's "slave sale"?

A March 7, 1996, article (accessed via the Nexis database) in the San Antonio Express-News reported that Hagee was going to "meet with black religious leaders privately at an unspecified future date to discuss comments he made in his newsletter about a 'slave sale,' an East Side minister said Wednesday." The Express-News reported:
Hagee, pastor of the 16,000-member Cornerstone Church, last week had announced a "slave sale" to raise funds for high school seniors in his church bulletin, "The Cluster."

The item was introduced with the sentence "Slavery in America is returning to Cornerstone" and ended with "Make plans to come and go home with a slave."

John McCain will be the perfect candidate to start World War 3 by pre-emptively invading Iran (if Bush doesn't invade first, that is).
But, despite what Hagee believes, this war won't magically bring the return of Jesus Christ. No, it will instead bring about literal HELL on Earth. And the Dark Lord Itself (going by Its earthly name of George W Bush, or perhaps Dick Cheney, maybe with the name John McCain, or by the name of any tyrant you chose) will be living it up here on our sad despicable planet, while the rest of us suffer infinite misery. Jesus Christ will have nothing to do with it.

That was fun.

I especially want to thank Max for including the (Jewish? Christian?) ecstatic dancer in the blue dress.

I thought only Islamic Sufi's did that twirly stuff. It was pretty funny, she looked SO out of place with all those squares. She should be at a Dead concert to look in place. LOL
