"Barack With You": A Collection of All Your Favorite Obama Inspired Hits [VIDEO]

Posted by Adam Howard, AlterNet at 7:54 AM on February 18, 2008.

Anything as earnest as Will.i.Am's "Yes We Can" Obama video was inevitably going to be parodied ad nauseam. Still, this one is pretty clever.

Inspired by the celebrity-filled Obama tribute video "Yes We Can", the makers of this video created a parody ad for a TIME Life produced CD collection (not unlike the ones that are frequently on cable late at night) of songs performed by musical artists like Queen, Joan Jett, Michael Jackson and the Clash in an homage to Barack Obama. Check out the video to your right for more.

I take great offense at this posting. You are certainly entitled to your support for Hillary Clinton. But your assumptions of Obama delivering nothing but rhetoric, and your bizarre assumptions that he is somehow aligned with republicans simply points out how little you have looked beyond Media and Clinton Campaign spin. I have read both his books, have looked up all of his legislature (both in the Illinois State Senate, and the US Senate). Daily on his website he posts his positions, there are also extensive papers with minutia on every issue available on the site. I have heard interviews, speeches, and his 18 debates. Yes 18! He discussed Sub-prime mortgage lending, economic stimulus packages, taxes, healthcare etc just as intelligently as Clinton, as he did with all policies. And his stand against the war certainly showed himself to be wiser than she was in that moment. ( And being hoodwinked by Bush is unacceptable. Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd did not have trouble No to the war) Do not begrudge the man a great speaking style, as that ability is what often enable policy to reach the table.
I don't agree with every stand Obama has taken, though the ones I don't agree with are the same ones he shares with Clinton. They are both more centrist then I would desire, Though his record is one of the most liberal in the Senate. He is exceptional, sure as a speaker, but much more so as a thinker. He does not spew policy jargon as Clinton does, that is her forte, and a limited one. But to say he does not have a grasp on the depth of the issues is foolish at best, and simply ignorant of all that he has written and accomplished.

HEY, I'm the first to admit that I, like many, many people in America who have to work two jobs, haven't had the time to follow politics like I should, but even I know Bill Clinton had a huge role in the problems we have now.

and that cigar thing really is disgusting.. what a pig, and I am a democrat.

What a pointless rant, no wonder Hillary is losing so big.

Is Kiss "I want Barack to roll all night" in the collection?

I fondly remember this song from my youth which inspired me to become an Obama supporter.

Because of Kiss, I researched Obama's progressive positions on the issues, using my 300 baud modem to read his gopher page.

This collection brings back memories.
