Joe Scarborough Rips Bush on Iran NIE: He’s Either "Lying" or "Stupid" [VIDEO]

On the same program conservatives Scarborough and Pat Buchanan called for congressional subpoenas of Bush's advisors, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, to determine when they knew about the latest NIE report.

Yesterday in his press conference, President Bush asserted that Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell told him "we have new information" on Iran's nuclear program, but "he did not tell me what the information was."

This morning, the cast of Morning Joe chided Bush's claim. Co-host Willie Geist said, "It's just not a credible answer, I'm afraid." Host Joe Scarborough ripped into Bush, saying that president is either "lying to the American people" or is simply "stupid":

We are left with only two options here. Either the President of the United States is lying to the American people about what happened during that meeting, or the President of the United States is stupid.Earlier on the show, Scarborough and Pat Buchanan called for congressional subpoenas of Bush's advisors, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, to determine when they knew about the latest NIE report.

There can be no attack on Iran. Period.

Bush and Cheney are backed by powerful men that could not careless about the consequences of an illegal attack on Iran. Look at Iraq. It is destroyed. It is a living hell. Both Iraqis and our soldiers are being destroyed. Our leaders knew this would happen going in. The real people running this country know exactly what they are doing. Only the people of this country can stop this criminal behavior.

Iran is not weak like Iraq was when Bush did his cowardly "shock and awe." Attacking Iran will further endanger our country. They are not a threat to us. Who do you think is taking in all of the millions of refuges for the Iraq war? We certainly aren't taking care of them.

Impeach all and Imprison all.

Actually I think Scarborough is wrong. There is a 3rd option. McConnell could have said to the Pres. - I have new information - and the Pres. could have said, uh, is it something I need to, uh, I mean, is it something I want to hear, and McConnell could have said no, you probably don't want to hear this. And then what the Pres. is saying now is technically true, in the sense that it all depends what the definition of is is. The games they play up there can be pretty wicked, I think.

Since when are the terms "stupid" and "lying" mutually exclusive, especially regarding George W. Bush?

Ultraconservative Scarborough appears to have more courage than the Democratic "leadership" when it comes to addressing the latest Bush scandal. We can rely on our Democratically controlled Congress to continue funding American aggression in the Middle East and well as corporate welfare. They can be relied upon to help media consolidation efforts as well as stand impotently by while our Constitution is defiled. And most sadly of all, Congressional Democrats can be relied upon to keep impeachment off the table - impeachment of the most vulnerable political criminal in American History.
Outside of the Progressive Caucus, I will NEVER vote for another Democrat.

Except Bush is obviously both lying and stupid, but the same type of rhetoric worked for him in the run to war in Iraq, and the Bushwacko base is still buying the obvious lies.
