This post, written by Manila Ryce, originally appeared on The Largest Minority

Early on, Dennis Kucinich stated that the Iowa caucus was rigged, and the Brown & Black Democratic Presidential forum on Saturday night proved just that. Rather than pretend this authoritarian process was truly democratic, Kucinich made a strong symbolic statement by asking himself a question to even out the format. Now that’s gangsta. Check out the video to your right for more.

He should have politely waited his turn to be asked a meaningless question only meant to discredit him... like whether or not he had seen a UFO.

Ron Paul has as much support in some polls as a "front runner" candidate.. John McCain. Those polls still refuse to even consider calling Ron Paul a front runner... or NOT calling McCain a frontrunner.

The whole system is rigged, start to finish.

Dennis Kucinich has won every debate he has been in, if you go by crowd reaction to the number of statements he makes.

He truly should be President. Every excuse that he should not be President is pretty flimsy.

That was truly great-- courage and humor all rolled into one. He took a note from Stephen Colbert on that one, like Colberts speach at the WH Correspondants dinner last year he was ballsy, funny and had a real message that was a real FU to the establishment. He needs to do that all the time. A Bulworth moment.

K for Kucinich - K for Klassy?

Wow. I just saw a video which showed one of them there Americans' presidential candidates to be a class act. He's no JFK with those looks, and his speech sure was stuttered - both things make me fear for his chances. But with that kind of political weight behind a gentleman's jokery, I'd be surprised to learn anyone was unimpressed. With a candidate like that, I daresay there is a chance that the American people - and indeed, the world - might be able to win this next election.

Dennis Kucinich: A Man of Principle Polling at ~1%

What's with the Democratic Party?

Here is a man of principle: An immediate withdrawal from Iraq. No BS 'timetable' that will last years.

He's for impeaching the criminal Cheney.

And still, the man is polling very low.

If the Democrats are the 'opposition party' to Bush, America is sad shape.

Kucinich Is The Only One

It's so obvious that Dennis Kucinich is the one that, far and above all the others in the debates, (Rep or Dems), who would lead not just the US, but the world back to some kind of peace and harmony through fairness, justice, and good will. He could make others listen. It's almost like God is teasing us, because it's so obvious what this man is talking about, but people just aren't listening. Wake up, people, it's not too late. It's not dark yet, but it's getting there.

What was really cool...

is that it was a trick question designed to get one candidate to attack another. All or most of the others probably would have fallen for it, but Kucinich didn't. Instead, he gave a clear statement of something that HE is FOR. In a spirit of unity he asked the other candidates to join him in it for the benefit of the American people. The result was that we actually got some light instead of just heat.

He did skewer them though. If you missed it, watch it again and listen for that little zinger about why he chose to ask himself the question.

There was a really good article about Clinton's people meeting with the organizers of this forum, and the organizing committee shutting out participants from previous years, having Clinton's people as their guests at the forum, limiting the number of candidate's guest's seats to 50 in an auditorium that seats over 1,000, etc.

Big K continually amazes...

The Choice Is Clear

If you want a President that will govern as they promise as a candidate, I have no doubt he's the guy.

Having a President who has lived in poverty to the extreme of living in a car and risen up to be a Mayor of a large US city and a Congressman is a great American story. When he talks about working people it's not second-hand information and I do not think he has forgotten where he comes from.

This guy will govern just like he campaigns and will stick by his guns through thick and thin.

Senator K certainly highlighted the way he thinks!
Which is exactly what we need to return the country pre-Cheney/Bush.
AND we need to have a President with a rich sense of humor to get us out of the deep hole of this present regime of muck-ups.
Name one thing good they have done.
In one speech Senator K said it all.
Even Hillary {only?} applauded with the audience.
Go Dennis!

traditionally, we have elected (never mind 2000 and 2004) the tallest candidate. already in this run-up to the election we have seen far too much emphasis on the utterly ridiculous - décolletage, haircuts, etc. what we need to focus on is substance, people! smallness is not just a matter of height - our current "president" is a very small man indeed, as is his cohort in crime, dick vader. their exclusive policies have marginalized a large segment of the people they swore to protect. give a man with honor, decent values, and good instincts a chance. he might lead us into the light again. but i suspect that, once again, voters will reject someone they know in their hearts to be the best choice. alas, dennis, alas jimmy.

Probably the only sane candidate who has an agenda for the betterment of America rather than a plan for more of the same. Someone like Kucinich will never be elected to the presidency because the majority of the citizens of the U.S. are afraid to stand against the established government or are victims of the Bush propaganda. He has the courage to stand up there and tell it like it is but no one wants to hear what he is saying or recognize what he stands for.

Tell everyone you know about Kucinich and encourage them to watch and listen to him speak. Send them links and videos and as many emails as you can get your hands on. Make sure they are exposed to this man in ways other than through the MSM's controlled charade. The more people see him, the more they like about him and the more they see the stark contrast between him and the "politics as usual" that are being offered everywhere else.

This is about the future of the country, people. Anyone who says "It doesn't matter who is president" must have been napping the last 7 years. And if it truly doesn't matter, then they ought to be willing to vote for someone you endorse, right? Will I vote for whomever the Dems select? Probably, but only because the geeks on the Republican side are so dangerously stupid that any Democrat looks better by comparison. As long as Kucinich is on the ballot, he has my vote, and I will continue to spread the word about him.

Actions we each can take to elect Dennis Kucinich

Light is shining through rips and tears beginning to appear in the coverage blackout by corporate media & the party machine. Significant grassroots pressure is building for Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul, both distinct threats to the status quo. People will disbelieve the "only party-and-media anointed 'frontrunner' candidates are electable" Big Lie if everyone who gives a damn takes these actions:

Go to the Kucinich website, become informed, then have the courage to speak with family, friends, and others to show your support

Join the Kuncinch groups at Tribe. net and other social networking sites

Wear campaign shirts, hats, and bumper stickers

Join the Official Group for your state at the Kucinich website

Write local papers via Letters to the Editor

Put a link to Kucinch's website in your Blog

Hold houseparties to spread the word and raise funds

Donate to the money bomb explosion on Dec 15th via w w w. december152007. com

Stay active!

That which Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul both have going for them is a concerned group of volunteers willing to actually bestir themselves and DO SOMETHING to popularize their platforms in a climate where people are sick of the corrupt status quo and hungry for genuine change. Let's get the word out there!

If the Dem/Rep machine ignores DK & RP they should team up

Ideally, yes, the best possible election would be a choice between Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul because either way it turned out there would be major change and a significant dismantling of the military industrial complex.

Chances are, though, that unless everyone becomes actively involved and stimulates a miraculous groundswell of support breaking through the media blackout, then the Dem and Rep nominations will go to machine-endorsed candidates. If this happens, then Kucinich and Paul should team up and provide a radical third party alternative to the same-old same-old pretense of choice from bought and paid-for machine-endorsed Dem/Reps committed to maintaining the status quo for corporate profit.

So stay with me on this -- Kucinich is for Peace. He's against torture. He cares about the "meek" and even thinks health care is a right for everybody. I'll bet he would side with people before business and bankers. What if Dennis Kucinich is really Mr. Second Coming?? What if the Christians don't even recognize that he's the one they've been waiting for?

That SOMEONE will come along, someone who's incorruptible, morally upright, and RIGHT about what this country needs most. Someone who'll show us how to pull ourselves out of our self-imposed rut of apathy and nagging fear-not someone who promises to be everything for everybody, but someone who can show us the way to be the great people we once were, and not through war, but through true compassion, common sense, and brotherly love. That person, folks, is Dennis Kucinich. He's a gem in a plain wrapper, and could be the best thing that's happened to us in a long, long time. We, the people wield the ultimate power, should we choose to exercise it, and that is the POWER OF THE PEN, through the simple expedient of writing his name on the ballot if it's not there, in 2008. In my view he's head and shoulders above everyone else. What other reason is there for the other candidates both rethug & democrats to try to shut him up by pushing him into the background, except that he's TELLING THE TRUTH and has our best interests in mind?

People need to know that Dennis is showing strong in straw polls of Progressive Democrats - the PDA just held one and he got 41% while Hillary only got 9%. He won the DFA vote, too.

Wake up, America - Dennis can win this thing if we stop listening to the media and support this guy!

What's the difference if Obama or Clinton win? They're both in the DLC, whether officially, or for all practical purposes, and both have absurd and murderous war "withdrawal" plans. neither of them have single-payer health care. obama is somehow for the death penalty and against slave reparations and "black." against gay marriage, for the border wall, leaving all options on the table for iran. THIS IS INSANE.

KUCINICH is not only the progressive democrat, he is THE democrat. we have to find a way to completely surge him through.

maybe teaming up with ron paul would be the only way to do it. ron paul has publicly declared two things: 1.) that if he weren't running, he would vote for kucinich and 2.) if he and kucinich ran the executive branch, paul would be willing to compromise on so-called "welfare" things, like health care and environmental stuff and education for all, as long as we get our asses out of repulsive wars.

not only would this get two people of integrity (for as much as i disagree with RP, he has integrity) into office, but for the first time in the modern era it would catapult an actual grassroots ticket into the white house. can you imagine having two guys in there will to say "fuck you" to the corporate stranglehold? and what kind of precedent it would set?

if everyone voted for Kucinich said they would vote kucinich if he were electable, then he would be electable. even if he didn't win this election, the guy doesn't give up, and if he racked in somehwere in the higher double-digits in the voting tallies, he would have the credibility he needs to withstand the bullshit assaults on his appearance.

buying a DK tshirt as we speak...
