Geez, I would have known this back in the day when I read Variety more than Salon. Sounds interesting.

Body of War is a 2007 documentary following Tomas Young, an Iraq War veteran paralyzed from a bullet to the spine, on a physical and emotional journey as he adapts to his new body and begins to question the decision to go to war in Iraq. From soldier to anti-war activist, the film takes an unflinching view of the physical and emotional aftermath of war through the eyes of an American hero.

As Tomas' journey unfolds, the film cuts back and forth to Congressional proceedings in Washington DC. Footage includes passionate speeches by Senator Robert Byrd as well as a running tally of how each US Congress member voted regarding the decision to go to war in Iraq.

Body of War premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival to a sold out house where it received multiple standing ovations [1] and won the People's Choice Award (runner-up).[2] It was also awarded the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Hamptons International Film Festival. [3]

Donahue was always anti-war but why has it taken these peple 5 years to become outspoken?

Bush was beating the war drums for Daddy Bush's vengeance toward Saddam long before he was appointed Prez by Daddy's Supreme Court nominees in 2000.

Bush could've been stopped but everyone was focused on Bill Clinton's discretions.

I'm just not that forgiving because it's too late for up to 75,000 dead and mangled Americans and more than a million Iraqis.

I just recently attended a part of a nationwide protest of this war. The participants were those that would protest the U.S. regardless of a war in Iraq or Afghanastan. Their intentions were well thought out. But I thought back to the Viet Nam protests which included the people that made the war possible. The moms and dads of servicemen and businessmen. Where are they today? This war is a sanitized war. Americans live day to day without any hint of the illegality and immorality of what is happening overseas. The young service men returning are telling the truth of what is happening. Listen to them. We are not over there for the welfare and freedom of thier citizens. We are not over there for democracy (whatever that means). The largest casualities of that war are not the so called enemy but civilians. Lives, homes, and families are ruined. Children are murdered. We are hated.

come out of the shadows or wherever he's been these last few years. This nation now needs voices like his and Ralph Nader's more than ever.

Vote for Kucinich and you get backbone and integrity and an immediate stop to this madness.
