In the latest episode of 30 Rock, NBC creates a new mascot named Greenzo (played by David Schwimmer), to cash in on the environmentalist movement. Greenzo’s slogan is: “Saving the Environment While Maintaining Profitability,” and the character successfully promotes energy efficient GE products (like Gore does in real life) for the network. Unfortunately, the actor who plays Greenzo develops a conscience and becomes a real environmentalist. The network realizes they’ve lost control of him when he blames the super-rich on live TV for not doing enough to combat global warming. Greenzo gets fired for suggesting the rich should pay higher taxes, Al Gore is summoned, and hilarity ensues.
