I love Bill and identify with him being from the same generation and same part of America but ABC canned him for joking about our military, not slamming Bush.

It was obvious in 2000 that Bush was (and is) not only a moron but a hypocrite, a liar, and a narcissist who cares about nothing except himself. He's about as Christian as Osama. Maher's characterization of Bush as a "lying sack of shit" is right on but too mild. Sullivan is afraid to say that he was wrong then and is wrong now. How can a gay be Republican? It boggles. Republicanism is defined by corporate greed, religious intolerance and self-righteousness, love of guns and violence, and fear of the other. That's it.

I'm a Texan, and I have to admit that when Bill said that back in 1999, it wasn't that hard to tell that Bush was a moron, it brought the house down here. We knew it here way back before 1999, but we pushed to get him elected President so that we could get him out of Texas! There were many of us who believed that Congress would control him and he could do little damage at the federal level. Here in Texas, our gutless legislature went along with every hair-brained scheme that his drug addled brain could come up with, and he did come up with the most idiotic and irresponsible ideas that I have ever witnessed.

Bush permanently destroyed Texas in so many ways that many people are just now figuring out what he really did to us. Texas will never make a full recovery from his reign as governor. Bush took what was one of the more progressive states in the country; with a balanced budget, a surplus of cash in the bank, and with very low unemployment; and overnight turned it into a cesspool for the common citizen. Then, just as now, if you were one of his rich elitist groupies, you never felt a pinch because he is very good to the rich. But if you are an average person, he doesn’t even recognize that you exist, because in his shadow world, you don’t.

I do want to caution people about calling Bush names like Maher did with the moron crack. Calling Bush a moron is a real slap in the face to real morons. Sadly, Bush found a chink in the armor of this society where a person with money who is a total drug and alcohol burn-out can actually deceive enough voters to be elected Governor and then President simply by hiring the right people to take his hand and walk him through the routine. They dress him, teach him enough English to get through scripted press conferences, make certain that he has the right smile, and they force the press to misrepresent him as a genuine human being. The voters took the bait like starving catfish. Well America, you asked for it, and now you have exactly what you asked for. Bush placed a “For Sale” sign in front of the White House, and Congress is allowing him to sell America off to the highest bidder. The time to take our country back is now, or we won’t have a country left to call our own.

While Ritter was desperately trying to convince the people that Iraq had no WMD, Maher had Ritter and Dennis Miller on a panel to discuss the situation. Miller needled Ritter the whole time, not with any understanding of the problems, but by mocking Ritter's language, gestures etc.

Ritter's failure to slap the crap out of that little creep cost the Marines a lot of respect in my eyes.

I remember Maher's famous complaint about our cowardly military with their stand off weapons and got a big kick out of Bill's recent dust up with a protester. After Security had the female protester securely restrained, Bill rushed down all set to do some serious ass kicking.

The Republican Congressperson's and Sullivan's griping at Bush is mostly window dressing since Bush won't be running in 2008 and they can shed their responsibility for this mess. However they are still supporting Bush's attacks on social programs and his lavish support for the war.

The Final Solution to the Palestinian Problem is at hand and more than usual, Jews are driving the politics. Obama has been sucker punched by the question of talks with the Axes of Evil which Hillary finessed. CNN brought the asker to the debate so he could direct the question to Hill who was his real target. Talking to one's enemies is, of course, a big NO NO NO to the Zionists who are taking no chances on the US trying to effect a just settlement when an unjust one is so close.

There were a number of good people who voted for Bush in 2000...wasn't that the 'right' thing to do? Wasn't Bush the guy that other 'guys' wanted to have a beer with? Next time guys, you want to have a beer with somebody, by all means, have a beer, but DON'T vote for the guy for president.

I agree with a lot of what Sullivan said but I don't really understand where all the excessive Hillary stuff comes from. I don't always agree with Bill Maher either, and I thought his handling of the heckler was just too cowboy for my taste. I wonder what the purpose of having Kay, can't express an opinion because I'm a republican BH on...do you think they all do share a brain and someone else was using it during the interview?

Everytime someone questions Bush's intelligence by calling him a moron, an idiot, etc. need only be reminded that he is in the highest office of our land, abusing his power and making us all out for fools. He's exactly where he wants, doing what he wants. You don't get in a place like that being dumb. He's no Einstein, but he is anything but stuipid.
