Young Turks: Hey Pelosi, Stop Praying and Do Your Job! [VIDEO]

Posted by Adam Howard at 6:31 AM on October 9, 2007.

The Young Turks mock Nancy Pelosi's prayers for Bush and seemingly everyone else and Fox News' Chris Wallace for his typical obnoxiousness.

In the video to your right, Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks takes Nancy Pelosi to task for her litany of prayers she allegedly makes daily on behalf of President Bush and society at large. He also does a great takedown of one of Fox News' smarmiest and revolting personalities, Chris Wallace, who tries to suggest that Pelosi prays "against" the troops. Check out the video to your right for more.

At one point, she said 'I pray for Bush and at the same time I pray for America’s children - there can be some compatibility in their thinking.' Is she kidding? America’s children are waaaaaaay better at thinking:)

Paleeeese! Give us a freakin' break already.

Is it any wonder that every freakin' thing about our government is broken in itty-bitty pieces? These a-holes are too busy prayin' to do anything positive for us or themselves!

I have an idea, let's pray that these dimwits to get off their freakin' knees and open their hands and minds in service of the American people!

Pastor, WVCSR

Pelosie's a "Turncoat"! If she's do her damned job she wouldn't have to pretend to pray so much...

I'll be glad when she's booted out on her overly "Pious Backside" prayin' for a job and Cindy Shehan is in her place and actually doing something instead of all this Syrupy Showmanship of the current batch of crooked politicians.

Keep your prayers in private Pelosi like the good book says and Do Your F**king Job!

I'm not of the opinion that one should never discuss one's spiritual life, but this segment seems to show that both Pelosi & Wallace are completely out of whack.

I think the host's approach is typically heavy-handed & disrespectful (I'm increasingly coming to dismiss him as little more than "our" answer to Rush, & I think we can do better), but in essence he's got it right. A person's life & actions can be seen as a form of prayer. This may have been Pelosi's attempted point, which Turkey takes literally. By working to accomplish the sorts of things one is praying for, then one might be said to be "praying without ceasing". Obviously, Pelosi isn't really doing that work, whether that means sitting around deep in prayer or taking necessary & radical action. So yeah, let's see a little less talk & a little more walk, Nancy. Frankly, I'm somewhat surprised that she even dignified such an absurd & obviously loaded line of questioning.

As for Wallace, all I can say is that he's a complete clown. How childish & tacky! I can't claim the same equitable & neutral prayer life as Pelosi does (please!), & since I've already stated that prayer is a thing best done in the privacy of one's own heart (as opposed to national TV), I won't divulge the nature of my prayers for him.

she can hear the prayers of 70% of our population who want out of Iraq, yesterday! Or if she can hear the prayers of these same folks who want impeachment back on the table and basically shoved down the throat of the petulant child that is George W. Bush!

..prayer of that kind I most certainly NOT pray for our troops to 'win' a war of agression (i.e. to distroy Iraq). I'd pray for them to be out safely.

The real answer to the question about prayer is, "none of your business". Too bad she bought into it. I don't know how much Cenk gets paid but it's too much. What a loser. For what it's worth, a Cheney presidency wouldn't last, because of his serious health problems. That would make Nancy Pelosi our president. ANNA

It is always telling when someone is not able to perform the task he or she has been assigned. They start to pray. That tells me the the task is beyond their capability or training and they have resorted to a fanciful hope that someone will intervene for them and solve their problems. Of course history has shown us that this never happens and that person usually goes down in flames as the house burns down arround them. GET RID OF PELOSI, AND FOR THAT MATTER FEINSTEIN, and get someone who is up to the task of government.

I guess they're political thinking stopped on the day after the last Pres. election and they are still buying the power of the religious wignuts? Whatever! The rest of America has had it with the religiously constipated and even the Reptiles have moved on, thats why they're going to run Rudy for Chrissakes! Oopps see even I had to mention the man-God at least once here.
