Robert Greenwald Destroys Neocon Nutcase Frank Gaffney [VIDEO]

Posted by Cliff Schecter at 6:21 AM on October 3, 2007.

Robert had a number of other great points. To which Gaffney could only respond, twice mind you, "gobbledygook." Yes, I wish I were kidding.

Frank Gaffney is the kind of person who in a sane media environment would never be allowed in front of a camera again.

Not only is he a moron who agitated for this insane war in Iraq and made it seem like it would be a walk in the park--and is now doing the same with Iran--but he also accused those of wanting to debate the validity of our involvment there of "treason" claiming "it should be a hanging offense."

In other words, he is a lunatic even for a Neocon. But additionally, his think tank--The Center For Security Policy--is funded by you guessed it, defense contractors. I'm sure that doesn't affect his opinion on wanting to fight wars where other people's kids die, well, forever.

So it was nice to see Robert remind him on Hardball today, that executives at places like Blackwater and Halliburton are indeed war profiteers, and these mercs who get paid well in excess of our military men and women, hurt morale.

Robert had a number of other great points. To which Gaffney could only respond, twice mind you, "gobbledygook." Yes, I wish I were kidding.

Watch the video and enjoy Robert's beatdown of this emissary of misery.

War Monger!

I don't know why we call then Neocons when we should be calling the War Mongers. It seems to me that the US under the current administration believes it has the right to invade countries in order to force upon the resident population our political and in some cases our cultural beliefs. I believe that makes us fascist and imperialist; just like the Nazis and Japanese of WWII. However, I do believe this is more about enriching the rich than real political ideology. Blackwater is a private army of the US State Department. As far as I know, that is not constitutional. Frankie says we should be thanking these thugs. However, like the gentleman said; I don't want my tax dollars paying for mercenaries who are killing innocent people because they are scarred and shoot at anything that moves. I don't want the blood on my hands, which should only be on the Bush administrations (both Iraqi and US armed forces). Mr. Prince for not being a profiteer sure is making a lot of money. I am sure he gives it back by way of supporting War Mongers of the republican party or as I like to call them the "Party of the Wide Stance" (exception - Senator Paul of TX).

Larger war?

I keep hearing this as The Argument. I don't buy it, the 'larger war' he is talking about is a holy war between the christians and the infidels (islamofacist-alkiada-phonebook this week, god knows what next).

It is slated to take place in the mid-east in the year 2012, hence the need for keeping the troops in there until 2013. I'd like to reconsider our commitment to this 'larger war'. I don't think real Christians are keen on the idea at all.

It is nuts, it is Armageddon.

Because they are planning it is a great reason to impeach the administration before they implement the next step, invading Iran, necessary to cripple the American might. They have to bring the US military low enough to be able to beat it strategically with their mercenaries. They are holding a lot of big cards. This ain't bean bag, you know.

If you are not worried, you are either not realizing how dangerous this game is or... mommy, make the mean government go away. I am trying dear, I am trying.

"Tweety" Matthews didn't allow NeoCon nut job Gaffney to shout down Greenwald like he usually does with such Bushy"watercarriers" like Melanie Morgan, Ann Coulter and others. Has he finally seen the "LIGHT" or WHAT? I no longer watch most of these MSM programs because of the Repug Noise Machine and the way it is always given free rein to froth like rabid dogs at anyone who doesn't share their opinions.

Frank Gaffney is an imperialist fascist pig. And he's one of the most smug and annoying jerks I've ever seen on TV, which, my God, is saying quite a lot. If there were justice in this world....

That he still gets on TV after being wrong about Iraq and full of it about everything, like all of the neo-cons, is in itself very strong evidence for those that haven't woken up that the media is right-wing as hell. Matthews is a loathsome figure, so obviously a right-winger and corporatist.

Old men have been sending young men out to die forever.
Yevtushenko's poem: "Where Have all the Flowers Gone," translates "When will WE ever learn." Notice it's not "THEY!"
Today, we have draft dodging chickenhawks sending young people out to die! None of these tough guys have ever served in the military. Chicken hawks beating wardrums. What a bunch of assholes!

Greenwald doesn't challenge imperialism at all here.

Unless I missed something, Greenwald attacks the privatization of U.S. imperialist militarism, not the imperialist militarism itself.
