Colbert Compares the GOP to Klingons [VIDEO]

Stephen Colbert weighs in on a spat between Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee, and finds all the GOP talk about "honor" reminiscent of both Nixon and the Star Trek villains.

In another uproarious edition of "The Word", Colbert picks apart one of the most interesting moments from Fox News' recent Republican presidential debate, where Mike Huckabee attacked Ron Paul from the right for his anti-war stance. Huckabee talked about leaving Iraq with honor, using almost identical language compared to Richard Nixon when he was trying to pull out of Vietnam. By the time John McCain chimes in the Republicans are starting sound more like Klingons than real people. Check out the video to your right for more.

Honor, honor, honor! Horror, horror, horror is closer to what Iraq is about.
Huckabee comes from the same elementary school program Bush failed to learn from. What is honorable about reducing a country to a blood-soaked field of citizen dead. What is honorable about sending our troops, repeatedly, back to pose as targets. What is honorable about maiming 20,000+ of our boys for NO reason? They are consigned to a life of pain and ill-fitting steel and aluminum head plates and appendages. What's honorable about that?

What is honorable about 100,000+ Iraqi men, women, and children collaterally dead, reduced to pools of entrails and blood and jagged exposed bone.

Honor? Dumbest, most imbecilic, assinine, inscrutable reason to unilaterally kill and waste a nation. And this is a presidential candidate?? God save those left in this nation who can still read and not cry out in anguish!

Between Honor and Duty lies Truth

Politicians discussing honor is like a prostitute discussing virginity. They do not have a clue. Honor is taking an oath to serve your country, no matter what, and doing it. Wearing the uniform and being a target 24/7 goes beyond honor when your leaders care so little about your welfare. The troops did their job and are doing it everyday while politicians rant and rave about sacrifice, only one drink with the free dinners they get ,while the troops eat and drink sand. The honorable thing to do is admit that this whole concept of war is insane and bring the troops home and that is when honor can be shown, not just mouthed. Honor at some point must involve truth. The troops have served with honor to duty and country like they swore to do. What politician can say the same?

............ would not know honor or honesty if it bit him on the ass. He's yet one more Refucklican demagogue. Totally worthless, appealing to those voters too stupid to see through the meaningless concept called "honor." Honor is NOT an issue. Death is an issue, which he obviously doesn't give a crap about.

... expected you to actually be honorable on STAR TREK.

Were his character on that show, Mike would be commanded to take out his Klingon Dagger-thing and gut himself in front of the entire crew for the disgrace of his lies.

There are over one million Iraqis killed, total destruction of the Iraqi nation, depleted uranium for millions of years, rape, bombings, theft, treason, lies, murder, insanity......nope, I don't see any honor here.

I guess we can leave now.

I haven't seen all of Colbert's stuff. But from what I've seen, he seems to have a 7th sense that affects content as well as timing and delivery.

Jumping all over the "honor" thing and doing what he did with it was perfect.
