In a relaxed and friendly interview with Jon Stewart, Barack Obama addresses the mainstream media's obsession lately with reporting every statement he, or now his wife, makes as a gaffe or attack. He also talks about how overrated the experience issue is and how he's adjusting to hugeness of the 2008 election race, "It's always a shock to the system when Sunday morning you wake up and you're face to face with Mike Gravel." He says to a certain extent his campaign is about challenging conventional wisdom and that not doing that in the lead up war is what led to the debacle in Iraq. never trump age and treachery.

i hope he argues better than that when it matters. i love a good quip but i really doubt obama is yet fit for the presidency. he really doesn't know yet who the enemy is. nor who are friends. how do you make political appointments without knowing who you are appointing.

No. Try the mendacity of the democrats as a source of hope.

So Obama did OK. He projected an intellingent and sensitive personna. His performance, given the venue though, was as if the times were normal and in pre W times. So why, if he is a serious candidate, does he reach to defend Hillary Clinton without trying to distinguish himself from this scarry and Mossad supported stealth Republican who voted a straight line Bush agenda? Has he no cahones? Do we need a nice guy or someone who, like Kucinich or Gore, is presently calling a spade a spade? Do we need someone who is not ready to take off the gloves and tell the public that he is different? Has he been this milque toast in the debates?
