Like a lot of us, Bill Moyers was disgusted with the fawning coverage the mainstream media gave Karl Rove when he announced his departure from the White House. Moyers, correctly, says there was a lot more to be said about the man than his ability to manipulate close elections. "Using church pews as precincts, Rove turned religion into a political weapon, a battering ram aimed at the "devil's minions", especially gay people," says Moyers. Moyers talks about how Rove not only shook down fundamentalists but also corporate big wigs and effectively left the US government in shambles. Check out the video to your right for more.

Rove is no idiot

I don't think anyone thinks Rove or Cheney are idiots. They think Bush is an idiot and they are the puppet masters. Eventually it is all exposed but unfortunately America doesn't learn from the mistakes and this cycle continues. There are other Roves down the pipeline who are molding other indivduals like Bush for future presidencies which means there were will be future conflicts like Iraq.

Please quit saying Bush ever won the Presidency

Even the great Bill Moyers misspeaks. Please quit giving any credence or legitimacy to this un-elected dictator. It has been statistically proven beyond a doubt that Bush never won either election for President. See the work of Greg Palast on Florida in 2000; and Palast, Wasserman and Fritakas, Mark C. Miller, RFK, Jr., etc. on the theft of Ohio, and several other states in '04.

We need to stop dignifying Rove, Bush and Cheney in any way. We need to hold them up for the criminals they are - to the core. These scumbags are true enemies of the people, of democracy.

Johnson's funeral you really missed a great, passionate call to action. I think you can find the speech archived on CSPAN. It is worth watching and listening to.

Checks and balances? Boy are we the people getting the shaft! Rove and all of the Bush gang should be in prison and the lame, sissified congress can't even stop funding the horrible invasion occupation of Iraq. Rove is no doubt smart and a great liar like all the rest but the congress and senate are responsible for any and all rotten business he was able to put forward because they have no interest in checks and balances or oversight. Our government has sold out to corporate behemoths and our only chance to avoid Marshal law is slowly vanishing. We Americans had best get the hell out of the malls and off our asses and start screaming at our "representatives" or it is all over folks! Wait till the military vehicle pulls up in front of your home and takes you away because you protest or are a dissenter! Maybe you can start screaming from the internment (concentration) camp! good luck!

I'm surprised the now GOP-infested PBS tolerates Bill Moyers anymore. And I wonder how long MSNBC will tolerate Keith Olbermann. This country and our "so-called" freedoms have become a bad joke.

Karl will be back.....with Jebby, possibly sooner than we think.

At a time when so many of America's friends feel like throwing in the towel out of despair, anger and frustration, it's gratifying to hear a calm, steady voice of reason (which, after all, is what liberalism truly is about) such as Moyers'. To suggest, as did so many of those fawning right-wing suck-hole media commentators, that Rove is somehow a "genius," simply because he possesses all the oily schmoozing acumen of a game show host, is truly remarkable. No doubt Rove's also a decent, god-fearin', homo-hatin', "family-values" lovin', born-again asshole Christian, too.
Jon Stewart, Colbert, Maher, et. al. are enjoyably entertaining in their send-ups of the GOP's legions of breathtaking hypocrisy. Having the stolid Myers weigh in as he has done provides a certain - and much needed - gravitas to what the rest of world (even we inconsequential types up here in Canada) has looked upon for years with disbelief and scorn: the dangerous American Right.

...blah, blah, blah,...Rove is evil, blah, blah,blah...Rove used the dittohead religious for his own agendas, Rove is a flower that blooms in turds...blah, blah, blah,....The media is controlled...more blahs. Tell me something most of us did not know from almost the beginning.

But the real question is WHAT and WHEN are the Democraps going to do to stop enabling these "losers?" WHEN are these people (Roveicons) going to be held accountable? NOT ONE has paid a price for their transgressions. Until that day occurs, we will continue to be rewarded with more clones of the same ilk. Just look at the list of candidates on both sides...not ONE is a true progressive that can lead us out of this quagmire.
