Fox News Attacks Bloggers [VIDEO]

Posted by Adam Howard at 12:45 PM on July 26, 2007.

Bill O'Reilly and Fox News' latest cause is to paint progressive blogs as violent hate mongers, don't let them get away with it.

The video to your right, produced by Brave New Films, explores Fox News' absurd and vindictive attacks on left wing blogs like Daily Kos. O'Reilly has been saying that Kos and websites like it are as hateful as the Nazis and the KKK. Even though Hillary Clinton's communications adviser came on O'Reilly program and roundly defeated his arguments by pointing out that O'Reilly was simply cherry picked offensive remarks from the comments section, and even more outrageous remarks have been found on O'Reilly's own website, don't think for a minute he plans to let up. Neither should we. Check out the video to your right for more.

Either you read blogs or you don't. If you are someone who watches Fox News and buys their rhetoric, you are not likely to be someone who reads a blog. If by chance you do find your way to one, won't you judge for yourself whether his cherry-picked quotes are exemplary of that blog's material?

True, this is all propaganda, and every major media outlet is relatively anti-blog because they view them as competition. You see it in sports, entertainment, and political news coverage. "The blogger lives in his parents' basement and writes whatever comes to his mind as he sits in his underwear facing a computer screen."

But it's kind of like teenagers and pornography. Eventually, if people want to see blogs, they're going to, and no amount of rhetoric from Fox is going to keep them from doing it (net-neutrality is another story, of course). So I really don't care if Fox makes inane claims about blogs. If knee-jerk conservatives read my blog, they'd likely be offended. Look what I wrote about Bushy! Clearly I'm a hate-monger like the DailyKos. Somebody hold me accountable!

But it's a crap site. Nowhere near enough hate there for mine.

Seriously though, how do the wingnuts keep getting away with all this projection? Fox is all hate all the time. Murdoch has made an empire on cheap hate with tits on page 3.

Now showing tits is an act of hate? You're funny. Freedom means freedom to do all the hatemongering you want. Freedom means Bill O'Reilly can pontificate on what the hatemongering is all about. Freedom means reading blogs and/or watching Fox. You all speak as if you'd shut Fox down if you had the power. You should be welcoming the challenges put forth on the only MSM outlet that doesn't toe the Democratic Party line!

GOP and Fox News Redoubling Their Efforts

The conservatives seized power in this primarily progressive nation by turning the word "liberal" into a pejorative. Their weapon of choice was AM radio hate-mongers like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. So effective was their propaganda that the majority of Americans joined in the chorus of boos against "evil liberals" while completely overlooking the fact that they were quite liberal themselves (e.g. they didn't harbor seething contempt for homosexuals, they cared about the environment, they believed that corporations and the super-wealthy should pay their fair share of taxes...).

Slowly the air escaped from the leaky conservative bubble that many were living in. Americans found their collective voice once again and began rejecting the conservative notion of a one-way propaganda channel and took to the internet to reclaim America. It's working too, and the GOP and their handmaidens at Fox News know this.

To counter our efforts, they once again rely on the tactics of lying and smearing any and all who don't goose-step in formation with the GOP. They will revile you, they will curse you. They will drag your good name through the mud on a foundation built on complete falsehoods. In short, they will stop at nothing until their dream of total hegemony in this nation is realized.

Fight back. Keep fighting back. Don't ever stop fighting back.

O'Biley and Faux News continue to be more irrelevant every day.

But I for one will not buy any product or service advertised on their asinine "News" programs.
